In Turkey, Obama said, “we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation” but now he’s implying that we are among those who consider themselves as Muslim nations–”we have 5 million Muslims, which would make us larger than many other countries that consider themselves Muslim countries.” The POTUS should always be careful of his public statements; but it appears he’s only guarded about promoting the ideals of freedom.

Johnnyreb, check your math. 8 million is about 2 percent of 350 million, not .02 percent.

That said, there are about 300 million people in America. Using Obama’s new number of 5 million Muslims, that would make them 1.66 percent of the American population. As you said, a pretty insignificant percentage.

Why is it Barry never gives us any specific examples of all these fabulous “contributions” Muslims have made to the U.S., or even the “extraordinary things” Muslims are currently doing in the U.S.? Why is it always “Muslims are great; trust me I know, ’cause I had a Pakistani roommate in college” kind of crap?
