Slightly OT, I was just over at the HuffPo blog. They had 270 comments about the Maryland women's group equating Obama to Hitler.

For the article from the Financial Times about why the O's financial plans won't work, there were only three comments, none of which had any meat to them.

I hate moderated blogs, or at least ones that are moderated for PC rather than just for ad hominem attacks.

At least the HA folks (except lgm)sometimes provide serious information and dialogue.

The problem with this country is that there are very few TRUE CONSERVATIVES left. We all know that the DUMS are nothing but tax and spend idiots who keep repeating the same failed policies and hope for a different result. The Repulican party right now is so blinded that common sense escapes them. We a a nation are so deep in debt to China because the massive importation of GARBAGE (consumer goods) from them. Sadly it goes beyond consumer goods. Many US defense contractors closed up factories in the USA and bought critical parts from China to build weapons systems for our military to defend us. How many critical failures have happened in years past ? We will never know because both parties will CYA and take the attitude of "To Hell With The Rest Of The Country". Personally I have been taking steps to avoid buying this garbage from China and other countries as much as possible. Thats just my $.08 (inflation)

Like I said elsewhere, I think it's time to start talking secession.

I saw on TV that 12% of people in Vermont are talking secession, and that's one of the most liberal states in the union.

I hate to mention this, but Paulson (a democrat, by the way)was Chuck U Schumer's buddy whom was recommended by said Schumer after Snow quit.
Now, W. was, and still is my buddy. He did an above average job with the country overall, but appointing said Paulson, a democrat, was just plain, ahhhhhh, wrong.
I rank that mistake right up there with letting that besotted pig Tedward Kennedy write the education bill.
W. unfortunately wasn't Reagan but his successes far outnumber his failures.
Go back to Canadia, Mr. Drywall.
Hey, why don't you blog on Canada Free Press and see if they tolerate you any better?
Koooooo Dooooo Kooooo Kooooo Doo Doo Koooo Koooo.

I do blame Bush for the fact that he’s made it too easy for Democrats to blame him for everything. A second term virtually silent, and GOP in Congress forgetting what fiscally conservative means. Oh, and if I NEVER hear “passionate conservative” again, it’ll be too soon.

Jeff from WI on June 22, 2009 at 12:36 PM

You are so right! Bush's timidity in answering his critics, and his failure to place blame squarely where it belonged: with the Chris Dodd/Barney Frank Fannie Mae/ACORN crowd allowed the Dems and the MSM to hoodwink a very gullible group of "undecideds" into voting for DuhWon.

Hopefully, future Republican leadership learned this painful lesson well. If NetZero's vision goes unchallenged, it will undoubtedly put an end to America as we knew it. Hopefully, our own form of hopenchange will not be brought to bear too late.

They are after all a minority right now and there are limits to what they can do.

There are limits, yes, but they could do a lot. They could start by doing things that make the news. They could raise a big stink about Obama violating the constitution. They could raise a big stink about Obama breaking contract law, and breaking the law firing IGs.

The threats to do anything about it might be hollow, but if they yell loud enough, the MSM would HAVE to cover it. It will make the general public aware of just how corrupt Obama is. That would be the start of turning public opinion against him, and the votes in Congress would follow.

No worries. The economy will still pull out of its swoon by election time next year. Then he will own the comeback. Trust me he ain’t sweatin.

lorien:

Actually I think the Republicans have done a pretty good job of resisting Obama's agenda. They have hung together better than I thought they would. And they have not hesitated to make an issue of Obama's desire to spend America into a third world country.

If they wait too long the money won't do the job. It won't be enough to turn it around. However, they will have already done the damage just borrowing the money.

The republican absence during all this has not been forgotten. They really have been pathetic. Steele only sends out emails when they want money. And the R’s aren’t doing anything to win fiscal cons. So what good does it do them; that’s the real question.
lorien1973

Uhm, try and pay attention.

The Dems, with complete absolute control over both houses have physically locked out Repubs from participation in the drafting of any legislation dealing with the economy.

As the boondoggles keep popping up we now know why.

Obama has “owned” this economy since he took office.

I can’t for the life of me figure out why, Obama a US Senator for 4 years, was allowed to use the “I inherited this” excuse from day 1.

Carter could have claimed the “I inherited this” excuse, as he was a Governor not part of the Federal Government when he took office.

Same with Reagan and Clinton, they were Governors, not part of the Federal Government when he took office.

Bush 41 could not use this excuse because as VP, he WAS part of the Federal Government when he took office. Also note, as VP, Bush 41 had less power over the economy than ANY Senator.

Bush 43 could have claimed the “I inherited this” excuse, as he was a Governor not part of the Federal Government when he took office.

Does anyone know if he did?

Obama has no right to use the “I inherited this” excuse because he helped create what he now claims to have inherited!

Has any president ever whined as much as Obama?
