Diane Sawyer to Kurtz: I’m super-proud of our Obama health-care infomercial
posted at 9:05 pm on June 22, 2009 by Allahpundit
Except it’s not an infomercial, you see. It’s a “serious conversation,” even though (a) no one from the opposing party is invited to converse and (b) no one who opposes Obama’s agenda is allowed to advertise during the program. Whatever, though. Either they’ll be tough on him or the criticism will be ruthless. Should have invited Stossel and Tapper to moderate, suckas.

Remember the old days when Warner Wolf put Diane Sawyer in her place? “And Diane Sawyer was at the game?” When Obama calls out Fox News, it shows you that viewership for ABC, CBS and NBC sucks. No one trusts them or anyone on there.
suzyk on June 22, 2009 at 9:10 PM
So when do we get to line the ABC goons up against the wall (As Douglas Adams would have said)???
doriangrey on June 22, 2009 at 9:10 PM
Slightly O/T but I was watching Megan Kelly on Fox this morning and she was interviewing a gentlemen about the falsity of the “46 Million uninsured Americans” canard repeated for months on end by the Left. She was discussing this as “breaking” news. IMO it’s old news. I’m happy Fox is finally discussing it but sheesh, where have the been?

Huh. I thought the Bush administration didn’t get any media issues right, but I think they nailed this one.

alexraye on June 22, 2009 at 9:13 PM
They are calling it a “summit”? According to the definition of the word summit it means a meeting or conference of heads of state, esp. to conduct diplomatic negotiations and ease international tensions. SO what other countries will be involved? Will it be one where socialized health care is working?

Unless ABC plans to create strawmen for the Obama administration to beat up on.

This must be a nightmare. We have a Unpatriotic President and a sniveling self-serving bunch of lackeys calling themselves broadcast journalists. They are falling over themselves to be accomplices to a attempted theft of untaxed benefits and personal choice of physicians and insurance coverage. Somebody please tell me that this is just a nightmare. I want my country back…now.

Most people don’t understand the fact that by definition this can’t be a “tough” town hall. I don’t care what they say, if they ask a “tough question” it will be couched this way:
“What would you say to those that say (insert valid argument)”
And they will just let him respond without the ability to call him to the carpet on his bulls**t answer.
This will allow them to say “We asked the tough questions that conservatives would have asked”

Either they’ll be tough on him or the criticism will be ruthless.
The criticism from whom will be ruthless? Where it the big outcry for news outlets to be tougher on Obama?
A few blogs, NRO, and FoxNews will say something if they are too easy.
If they are too tough, they’ll get treated the way Fox gets treated by both the left and the administration (and many other news outlets). Remember how the netroots blocked Fox from even hosting a Dem debate? Remember the outcry when Charlie Gibson asked too many tough questions during the ABC debate?
Who in the regular media ever stands up for Fox News when the administration criticizes them?

Proof #237 that liberals just don’t know what words mean. They string them together in ways that seem to make sense, but only if you don’t look at what they describe.
Not that this is a new pattern for the current administration. Shut Republicans out of budget discussions then accuse them of not participating, threaten healthcare providers who so much as talk to Republicans…
52%: Every time you elect a Democrat, you get incompetence, thuggery, waste and abuse. Why do you keep doing it? Carter, Clinton, Obama – how much more damage do you think the country can take?

Will someone ask him about his comment in 2007 about being in favor of a single payer system? and challenge him on his promise that a government option will only be there to keep the Ins. Cos. honest, not to drive them out of business? Unless the opposition is there to point out he is lying, he will be free to lie and will get away with it.

Normally I would withhold judgment on this show because most things that have this much hype attached to it are never what people thought they would be. That said I would rather have a root canal then watch our president on purpose. I am sure no one could convince him of this but he is way way way to visible. He needs a job or something.

ABC is completely in the tank – there was the global warming pseudo-documentary a while back to drum up support for cap and trade (meanwhile we are having the coldest spring in recent memory) and now this hyperbabble over healthcare.
