Diane Sawyer to Kurtz: I’m super-proud of our Obama health-care infomercial

Except it’s not an infomercial, you see. It’s a “serious conversation,” even though (a) no one from the opposing party is invited to converse and (b) no one who opposes Obama’s agenda is allowed to advertise during the program. Whatever, though. Either they’ll be tough on him or the criticism will be ruthless. Should have invited Stossel and Tapper to moderate, suckas.

Yep, in it’s “fair-minded” style, it also did a piece on 20/20 showing how the idea of students being able to legally carry on campus was a fool’s errand and would not provide any benefits. They staged a mock attack using students who were considering firearms training as students in the classroom. One student was armed in their demonstration. The attacker, a police firearms instructor entered the classroom, “shot” the teacher and then was always able to shoot the armed student who was ALWAYS seated in the middle of the first row. Of course, they provided the breathless documentary dialogue of how Dianne, did get a shot off and hit the assailant, but was also shot.

To be purely fair, they should have demonstrated a mock attack in which no one was armed.

I was listening to Monica Crowley talk today about Belinda Stronach, Clinton’s Canadian girlfriend, who flew to the US when she needed surgery even though she was one of these big rah rah Canadian healthcare types.

One healthcare for us, a different better type of healthcare for the super rich and politicians.

“All sides will be represented”? or some such nonsense, whatever she said. I really didn’t think it could get worse. Worse is looking palatable, as unimaginable is just around the corner.

“vital and robust debates” usually have people from both sides of an issue. Clue to Diane!

This is infuriating to me because it is such a lie.

They must be feeling the heat to even bring this up, and show Hannity’s clip. I know President Ice Cream is feeling the heat because I received an email from the enemy saying they need help in signing a petition which is to be delivered to Congress. It said, “Now or never!”.

We need to keep up the pressure on Congress to defeat death care! As Rush says, if health care is passed the nation could possibly never recover.

“What is more important than a dialogue about health care?”

I guess this is now a “dialogue” in the age of Obama.

No one who disagrees can participate.

The steps to Fascism…
1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy.
2. Create secret prisons where torture takes place.
3. Develop a thug caste or paramilitary force not answerable to citizens.
4. Set up an internal surveillance system.
5. Harass citizens’ groups.
6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release.
7. Target key individuals.
8. Control the press.
9. Treat all political dissidents as traitors.
10. Suspend the rule of law.

Whatever, though. Either they’ll be tough on him or the criticism will be ruthless.

Criticism by whom? MSNBC? CBS? The New York Times? The only media outlets that will criticize ABC will be Fox News, the WSJ, and conservative blogs. The rest of the MSM will just praise ABC for putting on such a brave panel and for being “tough” on Obama by providing him with “hard hitting questions” that allow him to swat around straw men with the greatest of ease.

The steps to Fascism…
1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy. I think an economy meltdown will replace this step.
2. Create secret prisons where torture takes place.
3. Develop a thug caste or paramilitary force not answerable to citizens. ACORN (COI)
4. Set up an internal surveillance system. Warrentless Wiretaps, Health Care Central Database, ACORN (COI) Census, Cameras, Monitoring of energy usage.
5. Harass citizens’ groups. ACORN (COI)
6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release. Already suggested by Obama in a recent speech.
7. Target key individuals. Already done (Rush, etc.)
8. Control the press. Already done.
9. Treat all political dissidents as traitors. We’re getting close to this.
10. Suspend the rule of law. Not official, but Obama has been breaking the law with impunity.

Why not??? The stimulus package has done wonders for
everyone, don’t you agree?? Don’t let Biden’s poor comment on the subject of trillions upset you. (”We guessed wrong”.) Besides, those trillions of wasted money that
no one knows where it went. Well poofff. Long gone, and forget it, for apple’s sake. To bring up the subject is sooo entirely old fogey, entirely. We’re fresh and onto
something new and exciting. We’re re-doing health-care
thingy.
Now focus on this: THE 43 MILLION, I SAID MILLION, WITHOUT INSURANCE WILL BENEFIT GRANDLY WITH THIS MODERN
IDEA; WE’LL SPEND TRILLIONS, (DO NOT LET THE IMAGE
OF THIS HORRIFIC NUMBER UPSET YOU IN THE LEAST, WE’LL MAKE IT UP HERE AND THERE. NOT A PROBLEM, AT LEAST IN MY LIFETIME). Anyway, it’s there, and Diane Sawyer says so.

Okay. We are seeing some–some, that is–cracks in the media support for Obummer. Here and there. Classical liberal support, of course, was NEVER there for Obama–whoops!–Obummer, I mean. Not that I am mean, but the Bummer IS cuz he trying to mess with our Liberty. No friend of John Mills and the reverse, have we in this president.I suspect even illiberals will feel the pain once it soaks into their brain(s).And it will.I hope we see a crack or two during this so-called dialogue.**Sawyer says what she says because she either believes it, or wants to keep her job. The former makes her very suspect. The latter makes her a closet capitalist and they number many among the . . . uh . . . elite. And once again she is just suspect. All around. Illiberals can`t see the real world unless it smacks em upside the head. And I fear it indeed will. Reality? The real world? That is what is happening in Iran . . . . and many many other places.
I recommend the illiberals get a strong cup of joe to wake up. Maybe, just maybe, they can ameliorate the bushwhacking that awaits. Right now, I, like Obummer, can only hope.
**Could be both, but my mind boggles and I leave that possibility for others with higher IQs to examine!

Sherman1864 on June 23, 2009 at 5:40 AM

Comrades, you are commanded by lord high Obama to watch this completely fair and objective performance that will no doubt prove to you, if you are a good comrade, that his health plan must be enacted.

Rumor has it that Walter Cronkite is on death’s door. Even in his glory days as the CBS resident socialist would he have imagined a network so biased that their programming is nothing but propaganda for a dictator in the White House. I mourn for our once great nation and pray that one day in the future our children will be able to break the oppressive shackles of the Democrat junta and restore America to it the freedoms it enjoyed prior to January 20th 2009.

Not for long, at least in its current state. Even a new dictator like Obama understands that the first rule of oppression is to silence any dissenting voices. The “communication czar” will shortly order Fox off the air (about the same time Rush, Hannity, et. al. are sent off to the re-education camp at Gitmo).

falderal on June 23, 2009

There are many of us out here, falderal. We are trained and willing but we need organization and a strong platoon leader. A focused army of a million can do much more than a million armies of one.
The term “militia” has been demonized in recent years but it’s still appropriate. Like the militia of old, we should fight for a common goal. When we achieve it we will disband and go home to mourn our dead and take comfort in the knowledge that we stood for something far greater than ourselves.
Where is our George Washington?

Shame on you Sawyer. Your job as a journalist is to challenge and ask tough questions and no matter how hard you try to sell this as an open dialogue town meeting, it is not. The cozy exclusivity of the environment reeks of an unethical arrangement between your organization and the White House. Appearances speak volumes in our industry, and this one begs for stinging dialogue and criticism. As an old comrade of mine once reminded me on the reporting trail: “If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck.”
