Why do you have a picture of John McCain on the link?

pabarge on June 22, 2009 at 11:42 AM

Well you would never know it from the comments on this thread but Allah had originally posted a video of John McCain giving a wonderful spot-on speech concerning Iran & the young girl who was killed on the street.

I guess it was removed by the the McCain police due to lack of interest. Sorry, you snooze you lose on HotAir!

Well to all of you conservatives who wouldn't "compromise your principles" by VOTING in this last election, how stupid do you feel when you watch this? Pretty stupid, I hope.

This is McCain at his best & when it came to national security there was no question he would get this right, as opposed to Obuttwipe who has gotten NOTHING right. Just as a reminder, when we get national security wrong not a whole lot else really matters, does it?

Maybe you'll get off your *sses & vote next time, that is if we still have a country left to vote IN.

Thank you & have a nice day.

Iran wants what President Bush brought to Iraq. Obama withers in the shadow of that man.

Gerlado the dummy must think he can get a nice gig on MSNBC or CNN; thus, the Obama water carrying. He is about as convincing as a typical Obamist.

Here's the contradiction at the core of the Obamatrocity: His heroic speech in Cairo gave rise to the new revolution in Iran. That's all he needs to do to incite the revolution. That's like our founding fathers mailing the Declaration of Independence to the king and expecting liberation to arrive on the next ship.

Obama has been handed an opportunity on a sliver platter thanks to the policy of the Bush Administration and he can't figure out how to capitalize on it? Really this is Jimmy Carter's second term. Bill Clinton would know what to do with a gift like this for foreign and domestic consumption. We truly have amateurs running this country. Progressive means: all morals are always relative. I can't wait for our own elections in 2010. I can't stand "Progressives" which as they remind us is not like a Liberal but YES they are like Socialist.

21% of Voting Americans, identify Liberal of that 21% only a small segment identify Progressive, and those are the tools running things right now....well running things into the ground.

That makes two of us. I like her and think that there is a prominent place for her in the party but when it comes to discussing stuff like the US response to what is going on in Iran or North Korea, I’d rather have that discussion with CK instead of Palin.

highhopes on June 22, 2009 at 7:26 AM

Out of curiosity, since so little has been spoken about her actual answers to question like this.
How do you know her resolution would not be the "right" one?
Every time I have heard her discussion of foreign policy, I find her very informed.

I met a doctor from "Persia" as he called it, when the Shah was eventually overthrown, the intellectuals, the educated left Iran, leaving a generation of illiterates running the country...only the "elitists" remained, mainly professors at the university, religious leaders, and bureaucrats, and of course the uneducated.
Similar to the huge support Obama received from the un-educated, and the educated elites.
As this doctor was leaving they demanded his gold wedding ring...he gave it to them and stated, "But you can't take this", pointing to his head.

Tell CK that's why presidents have secretaries of state. The president is not a know it all about everything kinda person. They should have the best people around them so they can make informed decisions. I'm sure Gov. Palin applies this style of governance in Ak and will in DC. There's been too many movies and tv shows about how brilliant presidents are or how stupid, presented by the msm that everybody expects it. Ever see the picture of O sitting at a table with 40 other people?

But in the new America, your actual choice might be to have that conversation with either the Rev. Al or Sarah Palin
JiangxiDad on June 22, 2009 at 8:22 AM

Reminds me of the group they had discussing the Iranian protests on FNC Saturday afternoon. Geraldo, Al Sharpton, Wesley Clark, and Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum. Clark was the closest to having any experience in international affairs and he's so ignorant he makes Joe Biden seem intelligent!

He could ALWAYS say “Bush did it” or “I inherited this mess” and half the nation would let him skate.

bradley11 on June 22, 2009 at 8:08 AM

Actually when it comes to Iran, the real culprit is Jimmy Carter not GWB. Had Carter not so thoroughly botched relations with Iran in the 1970s much of the subsequent history in that part of the world might have been far different.

The USS Samuel B. Roberts might not have been struck by an Iranian Mine. The USS Vincennes might not have been involved in shooting down an Iranian airliner. The Iran-Iraq war would have been bloody but a strictly "local" event.

I just don’t think CK understand what Gov. Palin is all about.

That makes two of us. I like her and think that there is a prominent place for her in the party but when it comes to discussing stuff like the US response to what is going on in Iran or North Korea, I’d rather have that discussion with CK instead of Palin.

I agree with you HH. But in the new America, your actual choice might be to have that conversation with either the Rev. Al or Sarah Palin--in fact, that's what we've got. I'm sure that's not lost on CK either, and that he cast his vote appropriately, if without gusto.

Anyone expecting Obama to actually DO anything other than make a speech hasn't done their research. Obama has NEVER done anything other than make speeches, while others do the work. Now he's actually forced to MAKE a decision on supporting regime change in Iran and it scares hell out of him. He'll be ON RECORD, which is something he avoids like the plague.

He could ALWAYS say "Bush did it" or "I inherited this mess" and half the nation would let him skate.

I think you would be surprised just how much savagery and death isn't being reported because of the media clampdown.

If the Iranian crisis were a relatively peaceful affair, there would be no reason to restrict the media.

You are just another arrogant SOB who believes the enemy must react the way you plan for him to react. History’s dustbin is full of folks like that.

i'm not suggesting that the pics & tweets were are receiving from Iran are fake. but i know that i don't know everything that is going on over there. I suspect that McCain & bambi don't know everything either.

however, if the mullahs & achmedinejad are going to blame us anyway, why don't we sound more "rah-rah" for the young "freedom fighters?"

First the US supported the Shah

Because Mossadeq was a large part of the wholesale theft of the oil fields in the Iranian forced nationalizations - stealing an industry that they did nothing but watch others build and maintain. This is the sort of stuff that most would consider an act of war. I certainly do.

For what it's worth, the POS court at The Hague ruled that Iran's national theft of others' property and voiding of contracts on a whim were legal. But ... that's what you get with empowered, peerless, competionless entities.

I just thought I'd throw this in, for a little background.
