Time for another game of….
WHAT IF BUSH DID THAT!

1000 times worse than Katrina. Impeach now, heck Joe Biden can’t do any worse and we would lose the Obama hype.

A CBS News White House Correspondent reporting on ice cream?
’nuff fricking said.
RobCon on June 20, 2009 at 7:05 PM
What an incredibly stupid, pointless and meaningless “story”.
Not to mention that all the Obama things and the things in Iran didn’t even happen at the same time. The Iranian twitter posts didn’t even begin until 21 minutes after the president had the audacity to buy ice cream.
Winner of the Moron Award of the Day. That’s you.
Dave Rywall on June 20, 2009 at 7:05 PM
It is Saturday…BHO does not work on weekends.
Seems like the ice cream would have something mixed with milktoast?
rlongstrat on June 20, 2009 at 7:05 PM
This is a two-fer.
First, it’s perfect indictment of Barack “Nero” Obama, fiddling while Iran burns.
Second, it’s a perfect illustration of the absolute shallowness of the American media.
By the way, thanks Mark Knoller, for that hard-hitting expose!
Could you have your nose any further up Barack’s ass? I mean that in all sincerity. Do you think it’s at all possible to shove that proboscis another single millimeter up the POTUS pooter? (Farking Hell, but this media of our sucks.)
DelD on June 20, 2009 at 7:06 PM
Well done, Patterico.
Weight of Glory on June 20, 2009 at 7:06 PM
Yeah, I’m gonna “laff” at how stupid this “reporter” is. He is fuuuuuugly. Looks like a fatass version of Paul Krugman.
NathanG on June 20, 2009 at 7:06 PM
Wow. Bush would’ve been absolutely brutalized had he pulled something like that. What a joke this guy is. And I love how Knoller breathlessly reports what the Obamas ordered, like its important or something. ‘You’re gonna laff’…yeah, not quite.
changer1701 on June 20, 2009 at 7:06 PM
This is unbelievable, Barack Obama has no balls, no brains and no heart.
What a worthless, gelded, corrupt incompetent.
Any President with a BRAIN IN HIS HEAD would order airstrikes on the Revolutionary Guard.
We could topple this regime in days. We could solve all of the problems in the Middle East by taking out this regime and expressing complete solidarity with the Iranian people.
Instead, complete idiot Obama goes out for ice cream.
Anyone who voted for Obama should be walking around with a bag on their head today. Obama is a complete and utter piece of absolute garbage. If he had even a sliver of integrity, he would resign immediately, leave the country permanently, never to be heard of again.
NoDonkey on June 20, 2009 at 7:07 PM
Btw, his saying if we meddle with Iran we’ll make things worse is just another way of saying, “Above my pay grade.”
Hey Barry, how could it get worse??!!

I was listening to CNN on XM a couple of hours ago, while I was running errands, and they were discussing how they were getting some of their news, and the different “new media” avenues (Twitter, etc.). They then apparently showed some “fresh” video (which I’m sure most of us saw hours before they were willing to even acknowledge it). The hedging and hemming and hawing and trying to stay as distant as possible from declaring it legit was appalling. There was absolutely no way that CNN was going to just accept that it was real. If they did, then they’d have to take the next logical step and question why our government has been equally unwilling to accept how real and horrifying this whole thing has been.
Disgusting.
nukemhill on June 20, 2009 at 7:07 PM
It’s historic. He’s our first black president to go out for ice cream. He’s also our first black president to fart. Did they get that story, too?

My G-d.
This is as bad as that skateboarding guy in the White House.
This is pathetic.
mjk on June 20, 2009 at 7:08 PM
There have been a lot of theories about why Obama doesn’t seem to care about the situation in Iran. I think it’s simply because it’s not about HIM. It’s about hundreds of thousands of brave souls who are actually HOPING for REAL CHANGE in the world, rather than Urkel’s legions of cultists who simply want free health care and god knows what else, “help” with their mortgages and student loans, more taxes to pay for it, all the while trying to shut up anyone who disagrees and calling them … greedy.
Kinda pales by comparison to what the Iranian people are doing, doesn’t it?
BuzzCrutcher on June 20, 2009 at 7:08 PM
I’m waiting for the classic Obama statement….”You all know that I inherited this confrontation from the previous administration.”

They went to the Dairy Godmother I bet. I’m local, that place is awesome, and, yes, Obama is as clueless as ever when it comes to foreign policy. I do have to applaud his taste in food though. Dairy Godmother, Five Guys, Ray’s Hell Burger? Not bad, my man.
LeBron on June 20, 2009 at 7:10 PM
21 minutes, eh?
So what you’re saying is, if only Obama had known that the Iranian people were suffering and dying in the name of freedom he would never have gone out for ice cream?
So, if we can find twitters from prior to the ice cream run, you’ll concede the point that Barack “Nero” Obama was in the wrong?

Seriously, i despise Obama, but isn’t this a little silly? It was silly when the dems went nuts over this kind of thing, and it’s silly when ‘we’ do it as well. So Obama went for ice cream while a crisis is going on somewhere – oooh, horrible.
C’mon, guys.
Midas on June 20, 2009 at 7:21 PM
My sentiments exactly.
Daggett on June 20, 2009 at 7:21 PM
I would agree, the reporting of ice cream flavors purchased by Obama is absurd and pointless…really…who gives a flying frack. But, case in point, I’m not sure if this means, entirely, Obama doesn’t give a rats behind about it. The Revolution in Iran has been going on everyday, and though I’m concerned about it…I just played some Metal Gear Solid 4 on the playstation for a few hours. Am I as rotten? I had some Jamba Juice earlier…is that bad? I don’t quite see the anger here (besides Obamas weak response and position on Iran…now that is utter ridiculous).
cabbageheat on June 20, 2009 at 7:21 PM

Mark Knoller is not a journalist, by any stretch of the imagination. He’s a member of Obama’s entourage, period.
Cowardly scum, just like the cowardly prick he’s following.
MadisonConservative on June 20, 2009 at 7:22 PM
We know he has zeroed out funds for opposition in Iran and that he’s failed to stand up to the thugs several times in a week already.
aikidoka on June 20, 2009 at 7:22 PM
I think at least half the outrage is over the fact that the press covers his trip for ice cream like it’s a big event, and that all the people who screamed about Bush doing similar things are mysteriously silent when Obama does worse.
Daggett on June 20, 2009 at 7:23 PM
Me too, DC blows.
I was just back there for two weeks, traffic and a lot of irritating, stressed out liberals. So glad I moved to Texas.

The Ugly American on June 20, 2009 at 7:24 PM
Listen, I can’t stand Obama. But what is he supposed to do? He finally got off his ass and made some strong statements about the situation. Should he make some stronger statements? She he bomb Iran? Should he put his life and the lives of his family on hold and not get ice cream to stay at home and watch the situation? What’s going down in Iran is very important. But I for one don’t have a problem if Obama chooses not to micromanage a foreign situation into the ground the way he is doing with everything in this country.
Kataklysmic on June 20, 2009 at 7:24 PM
This should be Obama’s “reading to children while the WTC was attacked” or “Katrina flyover” moment. But, unlike coverage of GWB, the media will spin this as being presidential.
highhopes on June 20, 2009 at 7:25 PM
Uncomfortable as it is to ‘defend’ Obama here, no, it’s not like this at all. It’s like the local major going for a beer while a firehouse burned down on the other side of the world. His own firehouse isn’t burning down, get the difference?
Seriously, Obama is a cretin, but this outrage over a trip for some ice cream is simply making ‘our side’ look extremely foolish, imo.

It’s not just the Ice Cream trip…it’s sucking his thumb for seven days before even saying anything definitive…and when he said something, it was typical soggy HopeyChangeyILuvMyself crap. It’s his initial ‘robust debate’ pap he spewed. It’s all part of the bigger picture with this guy.
This also is about the MSM…on this day, they decide this is worthy of print…just like Date Night, Michelle’s wardrobe or arms, etc, all the time…when the US economy is tanking…nothing better to do than shill for Obama. This administration and the MSM together make for a sickeningly funny team.

YES – the Iran stuff is *huge* but you guys are, I’m sorry, going way too nutter over this (and this from a guy who’s prone to go nutter over some Obama stuff, lol).
I just don’t see the outrage here. You know, I heard a rumor that Obama ate breakfast and lunch already, and is also planning to have dinner today – all on the same day that this Iran stuff is happening! THE HORROR!
Give it a rest and some perspective, guys.

The truth is that Obama’s Iran policy lies in ruins thanks to the Basij and he’s to arrogant to realize it.
Its now amusing to watch the beautiful irony of Obama’s sycophants hyperventilating in defense of his arrogance and ego who are, if you follow the logical progression of their argument, in de facto alliance with Ahmadinejad and the Iranian regime.
