Why do we have to play nice and not offend?

Politics is dirty business. Always has been. If you want to teach your kids about it, teach them reality, not some PG-13 version of it.

Who said “play nice and not offend”? I said we need to be adults. Do you think there’s anything grown-up about cursing? Leave the immaturity to the children.

California allows qualified new home buyers a total tax credit amount equal to either five percent of the purchase price or $10,000, whichever is less. The credit is almost gone after 3 – 1/2 months. That was quick.

Frankly, I’d like to see us try to change the reality and become a better, more civilized PG and below society. Fighting tough doesn’t have to mean fighting crudely and with vulgarity. We need to teach them to fight smart, not dirty. Reagan didn’t resort to it; Sarah doesn’t resort to it; Rush, Glenn etc…don’t resort to it, yet they fight tooth and nail. Why can’t we do so? I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. I don’t want to win if it means I’m still in an immoral, vulgar society, because that isn’t winning to me.

Someone above said for the liberals in CA to stay out of Texas. Well, we don’t want them here in Tennessee either. It’s bad enough that we have to constantly be on the offense against a State Income Tax, as it is.

High unemployment is just what Obama wants. A way to get back at all us “greedy Americans”.

People will have to rely on unemployment and other government benefits. And, when there are no jobs in the private sector, they will be asking the government for jobs. And when that happens, the “all merciful God” will then provide jobs. But, of course, the bulk of those jobs will go to those who have supported the Messiah, if not all. Could be his own way of “reparations”.

The Democrats have played this game for a long time. When the government jobs are all that’s left, the population is too stupid to figure out why. They will vote for the Dems and still never get a government job, because you have to know somebody. A friend of mine had an impeccable resume, good references, masters in criminal justice, PhD in mental health counseling, speaks fluent Spanish, top case worker in her office yet less qualified and competent men always got the promotion… she couldn’t even get replies to her inquiries. The only interview she got for the longest time was not the advertised job but being the prison warden in a maximum security prison, and she’s a single mother with an 8 YO son!

Hey, AllahPundit? How ’bout smacking a few of these newbies around? This is not the Right-leaning version of DU or Kos (or at least it didn’t used to be).

Why not? DU and KOS was instrumental in getting Obama elected. They have passion, they have fire, they take no prisoners. They have organized, targeted action items to call politicians, campaign, petition etc. And they use some naughy language too.

Why do we have to play nice and not offend? That’s essentially what John McCain did. Obama was kicking, clawing, spitting, biting 24/7 and McCain was saying ‘no, no, we can’t act like that’. And look where it got him.

I agree 100%. I’m trying to teach my children why politics matter, and this website has been excellent so far. I sure would hate to have to dump it because of a few childish dirtbags. Hot Air is useful.

I have noticed that the government seems to reward bad behavior with continued monetary support. Let’s hope that you are correct and that I am not.

They are still counting on a federal bailout and I am not sure that they are wrong. That’s a lot of votes for The Won.

I met a guy recently being trained to repair windmills. I mentioned there aren’t and will not be a lot of windmills in SE Michigan (unreliable winds and high population density for windmill zoning). He said he knew that but unemployment was paying him to take the classes and he needed the money

Meanwhile a local county exec was talking about his county’s future. Although car companies are going bankrupt, he said over 50 Chinese manufacturers have offices in his county. (but do they have factories? – No) And he bragged that a Chinese company called Tempo is buying a chunk of Delphi parts operations (will the parts be made here? – not for long).

He said our state’s biggest asset was U of M, which attracts people for engineering training because of our auto connection. (How long if we lose our manufacturing?)

Another county exec has started a program to teach Mandarin to kids in his county because that is ‘the future’ (as if Chinese translators cannot be outsourced)

The Governor brags Michigan is transitioning from rust belt to ‘green belt’ and we are going to lead America in green technology, which IMHO aside from gov grants will employ about 500 people

They are all chasing windmills
