When some carry on about something they have already won it makes them look small and petty. That is how those who are still on the come across to me. It is akin to continuing to kill the enemyy after the enemy surrendered. I suppose the concept of honorable victory never crosses some peoples mind mind. They will soon snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Advertisers that bail are acting responsibly.

More powerful at the checkout than my opinion is that of my daughter’s mother – and it is beyond my ability to describe her outrage at this poor excuse for “entertainment”.

There is more positive PR to be had by visibly, audibly pulling the advertising plug on Letterman than any “apology”.

Letterman is past is best before date. Late Night is off the air in my home, permanently.

Those reading this comment that have influence over how and where television advertising dollars are spent, I can tell you this: you are further damaging your brand with women if you continue supporting Letterman. Bravo if you pull out, and do so firmly, and effectively.

That is one concern that worries me as well. With some people not realizing the consequences of their actions this can degrade into a form of censorship. There are unintended consequences to actions such as a few espouse here. What will we do when the liberals go after the sponsors of conserative leaning shows. We are the ones teaching them how to do it and to never let up. We are the ones posting here and gloating over our hollow victory on non political issues. We are the ones who will reap the whirlwind when the liberals start usung our own tactics against us.

Some of us are getting Damn mad at the crass, arrogant, condecension, the righteous indignation against those who don’t march lock step with the Pinnochio Presidente.

Some are simply posting in our close knit community here at hot air never venturing beyond an occasional angry email to Olive Garden. When was the last time those people did anything constructive to build our party? When was the last time those people talked to a liberal about our ideas and values? I wish I knew but I am afraid the surprising answer would be “never”. Some are so blinded they can’t recognize when they have won this issue and it is time to move to more important issues.. How sad that we take such joy in such hollow small vitories and lose our message in the process.

A few people posting here are saying “why can’t you let it go? Palin accepted his apology….yadda, yadda, yadda.” I also read that someone said we should let it go because of “principles.” Well, it’s because of “principles” that we can’t let it go.

For the last eight years, we’ve had to hear some of the most degrading vilest things said about Bush, conservatives, this country, etc., and it hasn’t stopped.I’m not alone in shouting ENOUGH!

This is beyond Sarah Palin, it’s about common human decency, which a lot in this country have forgotten what that means. It’s time they learn what it means again.

Maybe those who think this should be dropped should ask themselves, if I can’t stand-up to human decency, then what am I willing to stand-up for? If you still don’t get it, then go bury your head back in the sand.

I don’t hear you saying “I’m not alone in shouting ENOUGH!” I hear you saying “me too” same as any victimized liberal.
We are both on the same side. I am “shouting enough” too. Enough of this irrational continually blowing a mistake by a comedian into some national political issue. It isn’t.

This has been dropped by the Palin’s who have forgiven Letterman. Some here and only a few wish to carry this on. Who died and left those who do this as the republican party conscience? Can’t you see how silly you are outside of our tightly knit conservative community?

I accept it was a joke in poor taste so did Letterman and Palin has even put it behind her.

What is wrong with us that we can’t let it go?

You have no right to tell people how they can feel. When this scandal started, people organized boycotts. Anyone who has been involved in activism knows you need to give it at least 30 days. “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Rule 8

If conservatives are going to use their Constitutional right to protest, they need to be organized and can follow the left’s example. They’ve made an art of perpetual victim status. Some of their gripes were legitimate, but this one is for sure, and conservatives have a right to be upset.

Notice the difference? It is me expressing my opinion just like you post to express your opinion. We are both conservatives. We simply have a disagreement about whether we should continue to act in a childish manner about a joke made in poor taste by a comedian who has already been forgiven by the target of that joke.

Some here seem to think that acting like an infant somehow is justified because the other side does it. That is proven by you quoting “activism rule #8″. I don’t buy that. We conservatives are better than that. All that is being accomplished now is people just get turned off to our entire message. Those who do what you suggest are making our party irrelevant. We will go the way of the Whig party if our slide into oblivion continues unabated. We conservative who disagree with those who think like you must make it known within our party that we won’t tolerate the whiners turning our party into another liberal party. That is what some who think like you are making out of the GOP. The last national election proves it. We lost because we acted more like liberals for 8 years than the liberals did. The people elected those who they “thought” would act mature. Now they are beginning to understand their mistake and some here whine and cry and point fingers and stamp their feet and scream louder about small things that have no bearing whatsoever on the political future of the USA. When we do that we are drawing the attention away from real national problems. The crybabies who do what you suggest are only hurting the GOP. I am sorry some seem so thin skinned and insecure they write with an unjustified outrage and go on about a comedian who already has been forgiven yet we fail to see the long term consequences of our actions. I think the conservative values of some are in question when they act that way. It makes me very concerned about the future prospects for our Republican party. Think about that for a while.

There is so much wrong with protesting what Dave said. You people would have passed out at a Richard Pryor or Lenny Bruce concert.

Before you proceed with your quest please sight me the laws that will sustain these charges that you have noted. Such as the law where a presedent has been made and court document cases (client X vs CBS) that would affirm your pursuits. If you can, then good. If you can’t, then all your efferts will be considered hyperbol. Good luck to you.

Of course it’s hyperbole. The FCC is now being run under a Democratic Administration. Since the person in question is helping that administration by attacking a possible political rival in 2012, nothing will happen.
