I was thinking about this at 2:45 this morning, and I’ll admit that I don’t do my best thinking when I’m half-asleep. But I’ve been wondering if there is a connection with what’s going on in Iran. Please set me straight, somebody.

Iran and NoKo are pretty tight. If Iran gets rid of Israel, every other Muslim country sees Iran as the big dog in the region. NoKo would like to be the big dog in its region. So might a missle from NoKo keep us busy while Iran comes up with a Reichstag fire that leads to an attack on Israel? We’d have our hands full with NoKo, and Iran might be willing to take a chance on wiping out Israel.

As I said, I don’t do my best thinking in the middle of the night. Just wondering.

That was widely interpreted to mean that Obama would simply refuse to respond at all to provocations, but it’s hard to imagine that a missile launch at an American state would get no response at all.

Frankly, it’s hard for me to imagine he would respond in any meaningful way.

Hey Splash guy have you ever noticed when someone says its impossible to do something militarily (like the Japanese attacking Pearl Harbor) can at times happen? Wouldn’t you want to be on the safe side or would you rather be proven wrong with senseless deaths of many Hawaiians or Alaskans in the meantime? If you have ever studied military history you will notice that armies and navies time after time have surprised and proven that an impossible attack can be done.

Yomiuri daily:..the missile would not be able to hit Hawaii’s main islands, which are about 4,500 miles (7,200 kilometers) from the Korean peninsula.

Per the AP: Defense Secretary Robert Gates said he has ordered additional protections for Hawaii just in case North Korea launches a long-range missile over the Pacific Ocean.

Just a thought. If a NK missile is unable to reach Hawaii, why has the military been placed on alert?

A couple of random thoughts

2. Any bets on the SPM (swings per minute) of obama’s head as he announces a norkorean strike on hawaii??? I was watching him the other day and go seasick as his head bobs from prompter to prompter. He has a new spin now it seems with notes on his desk and one prompter.

3. Perhaps BaBA Boxer can spend the fourth of july weekend on whatever US Warship is closest to North Korea then. She wouldn’t only have her boxers in a bunch, they’d be good and soiled. Can the captain of a US Warship throw a senator in the brig (or better yet overboard) if they are disruptive to the operations of that ship?? Reminds me of a time when I had a real B*tch on board while sailing
