Sweet: Glenn Beck gives Gerald Walpin a senility test

Utterly demeaning, but of course that’s the point. In the five months since Hopenchange officially began, I can’t think of a starker example of a media double standard than its treatment of this story. Imagine, imagine, if Bush had trumped up a charge of dementia against someone who was politically inconvenient as grounds for firing him and then it had been discovered that that person was perfectly within his right mind. The uproar over ageism and victimhood at AARP alone would have been like a nuclear blast. As it is, Walpin’s safely relegated to the conservative network that’s been persecuting poor innocent Barack or whatever. Good for him for speaking up and for not refusing a stunt like this to prove, at agonizing length, just what a sham Obama’s charges against him are. The whole clip’s worth watching but if you only have time for the test, skip ahead to about five minutes in.
If you’re curious about the real reason for Walpin’s firing, start here.

That the MSM is soft-pedaling this story is disgraceful.
I repeat: disgraceful. Shame on you Chris Matthews.

I had no idea San Fran Nan is almost 70. Wow, she has had a ton of work done.
On top…. THIS REALLY PISSES ME OFF. How dare the BO administration smear this man. This is the lowest of the low.

Damn… I think I’ll have to start watching this Glen guy.

A fine man, and I bet a good loyal Democrat.

POTUS’s grasp of history and events in general should give you an idea who is “confused and disoriented”.

To almost quote our dear leader’s wife – “For the first time in my adult life, I’m ashamed to be an American.”

That was a cute way of getting Mr Walpin’s successful passing of the senility test into the public record.
Yes one could say that Glenn Beck rehearsed the test with Mr Walpin but that wouldn’t be believed in the face of this video clip.
I enjoyed that.
westerncanadian on June 17, 2009 at 11:52 PM
Why they aren’t running Beck at 7 ET is beyond me. I’d watch him, then BOR, then Hannity one after another and sometimes maybe even Greta (depending on what she had on…good interview with Kissinger tonight, BTW)one after another.

Tapper’s first question at the next WH briefing: “Hey, what about the supposedly senile IG passing a senility test on Glenn Beck’s show?”
BuckeyeSam on June 18, 2009 at 12:13 AM
I saw this today. Glenn started listing all the Democrats who were as old or older than Mr. Walpin. I started thinking about how the Democrats, and the media whores are constantly telling the GOP, and Conservatives, that we need to get with it and get hip! We are the party of old has beens. Really? After listening to this list from Glenn I am not so sure.
And this is also about a war on our older generations. Between bankrupting the nation, death care, attacking retirement, taxes, and everything else this Administration has done, you can only conclude the elderly, or older people of this nation have a bullseye painted on them.
I get the distinct impression the overlords think they have no value to society and are dead weights. It all sounds rather familiar. I believe something there was a time in history when this same ideology was practiced. It was despicable.

HMMMM I DO think Allahpundit is starting to get it, starting to get what the whole message Glenn Beck is trying to SCREAM to the people of the United States. Good for you Allahpundit and thanks for giving the credit that Beck is due.

According to Byron York, the republicans are starting to ask some hard questions of the administration, and are getting stonewalled:

What really sickens me about this is that I have actually seen real senility in the form of Alzheimer’s Disease that has afflicted my grandfather since 1999.
To insinuate that someone is suffering from dementia to simply fire them in a politically expedient way is a new low even for these azzholes in government.
Hey Barack, why don’t you change a 89 year old man’s bedsheets and his disgustingly soiled clothing and watch him and cry a little bit inside each day because this is not the man who you knew, who raised your mother and was once a vibrant joyous man but now just child-like cripple.
Then you asshole you can know what dementia and senility is.

You know that Joe Biden was having problems repeating “Apple, Table, Penny” as he watched this. He kept trying to say “Food Stamps, Home Depot in my Hometown, Taxes are Patriotic”.
wuesteblitz on June 18, 2009 at 3:20 AM
Wow! this is all time low. Although I expected it from Obama and his machines. If they can attack Bush 43 the way they did and blame him for every failure even in there own administration, well they can as well rubbish a selfless service of Gerald Wapin for there own selfish intent.

Walpin’s case is the “fight to the death” worth fighting. Contact your House Reps and Senators and DEMAND full Congressional investigation of this shameful White House episode.
T J Green on June 18, 2009 at 6:12 AM
There are plenty of things we have questioned about the administration. There are plenty of things which should be taken to the high court to determine it’s constitutionality. There are also so many, many things the media should have picked up along the way and did not, in favor of trumpeting Obama’s talking points.
This, my friends, is where it takes a turn to the dangerous. We have seen Joe the Plumber. We’ve seen the charges against investors/businessmen and the strongarming of large banks and corporations. We have seen Rush/Hannity/FOX news get singled out. We have seen the DHS Right Wing Extremism report right before the tea parties. But, this?
This is direct. It is a frightening public display of illegal marginalization. It shows us the ruthless lengths this corrupt organization of people will do to cover their tracks. WHERE IS EVERYONE????????

Didn’t the old Soviet Union send people to Siberia for reeducation? It’s starting to feel like I live more and more behind an Iron Curtain everyday. Thanks Obama. I always wanted to know how political oppression felt, and now Americans are feeling it first hand….

Glenn was on a tear yesterday. I especially liked his segment after the one with Mr. Walpin where he defended him with righteous anger. I’d like to see that put up separately. My 72 year old mother went wild over the first segment where he read the letter from the woman who is giving our elected officials that we are coming. Excellent show all around.

My guess is they are getting sloppy.
Terrye on June 17, 2009
It just doesn’t matter, Terrye. Obama could pee his pants, puke on his shoes and go into convulsions. The fellating, state run media would call it a sign from his heavenly father and break for lunch.

This war on the elderly doesn’t just go to this fine intelligent IG, it didn’t just go back to the smears on ‘grandpa’ McCain. It goes back to the democraps smears on Ronald Reagan. For a party that supposedly prides itself on defending the elderly non judgmentalism anti ageism, etc., many of the leading democraps are mean, cruel and hypocritical liars.
eaglewingz08 on June 18, 2009 at 7:45 AM
My previous comment was from my personal frustration at the lack of any measure of decency or professionalism in the media class today. It doesn’t mean I think this isn’t a fight worth fighting. You have to pick the hill you want to die on and Mr. Walpin has chosen his. God bless him. That had to have been a humiliating experience on national TV. It is disgraceful that he had to endure it to prove his mental soundness. The disgrace is Obama’s. If any of you thought there was a depth to which Obama wouldn’t sink, I hope you are enlightened. He is cold, calculating, vile and reprehensible and his end cannot come soon enough.
SKYFOX on June 18, 2009 at 7:51 AM
Defending the elderly!!??…Are you kidding. The first left without medical care, left to die will be the elderly under the DEMS Commie Health Care Plan. It won’t be “prudent” to spend medical money on grandma as her life expectancy is too short says the actuarial numbers.

When the brainwashing odf America includes the media as one of its victims, it is impossible to know the truth in any presentation they make. The evil that is inherent in what is going on is so obvious that to see it accepted so readily by the masses is very disturbing.

What about trumping charges of theft in order to fire a long time White House employee so that one of your friends could have the job?

Did Glenn’s Grandfather really run the tractor into the wall of Denny’s?

My 89-year-old mother called me yesterday after watching that. It’s the first time she has ever called me over anything political. I was startled. My parents are terrified by what is happening to America. I am so blessed that they are still here, but it is killing me to talk to them about how this regime is destroying the country they both fought for in WWII.

It was demeaning and uncomfortable. I would have hated to have gone through the same test. Walpin is as sharp as a tack. Sharper than me it seems. Obama & company are low for pulling this. Real low. But all’s fair in politics.
shick on June 18, 2009 at 1:42 PM
From rockmom ” My 89-year-old mother called me yesterday…”, I think most of us with elderly parents are masking our uneasiness with the current state of affairs as we comfort them and tell everything will be okay. The same exact thing we do to our kids who are trying to get a foot hold in this life as they graduate college and have our grandkids.
My dad retired years ago and admits he has outlived his retirement. Luckily he has a pension from the oil bidness. I taught my kids to save something from every check they got and invest it. Everything looks upside down now.
I admit I protested the Viet Nam war by wearing a black armband…until my mom asked what my brothers (serving in theater at the time) would think. I was 14. I grew up. I opened my eyes. What happened to so many of our contemporaries?

If I were a congressman, I’d call for impeachment hearings immediately…every day…until Pelosi dropped dead from apoplexy.
