FIRE grants(funding decrease from $565 million to $170 million with $3.2 billion in requests) by those who… lacked the wisdom to do so…

You’re right, Jeff. What I don’t get is why the gummint is still giving subsidies to “farmers” who haven’t “farmed” in 3 generations. btw, these are all college-eddicated, professional folks. Makes it all the sadder and scarier.

So this was a shocker, huh?

My husband and I semi-retired to a small rural town in NC a couple of years ago. I have been getting educated ever since and shockingly so. If I’d moved here for any reason other than to be near our kids, I’d have done better homework. Would’ve thought this place to be conservative. And it is, value-wise, for the most part. The people here are friendly and welcoming. However, most everyone calls himself a Democrat and votes that way. They are CLUELESS about what they voted for in this last election! They missed Zell Miller’s speech a few years back, apparently — they vote the way their great granddaddies always voted and have no idea that the Democrat party is any different now than it was then.

Some people I know are still getting government handouts for NOT growing tobacco — something they have no intention of doing anyway and that has not been done on their land for 50 years!!! A couple of people who are paying through the wazoo to heat the few rooms of their homes they can afford to heat with propane or heating oil had never even heard of the term “cap and trade.” They had no idea what it would do to them and were shocked when I explained it. I still don’t think they believe me. None of them watch FOX. They have no idea what is going on.

I am on a crusade here to try to wake people up and have become not exactly the most popular Yankee in town…but I don’t think anybody here is going to wake up till they are truly hurting from The Zero’s policies, God help us all if these are not stopped.

In my county Obama only got 22% of the vote, it is the cities who elected Obama. My Congressman Brad Ellsworth is a blue dog. He was the Sheriff in Evansville for years. He is progun, pro life and supposedly fiscally conservative. The people voted for him in this district because they knew him, he had a strong back ground here.

These are some of the most honest and patriotic people in the country and yet no one seems to care what happens to them. That is not lost on these people.

If Obama pushes through these policies, it will not only be the car dealerships, it will be the coal miners and independent farmers that will feel it. And if they feel it, the already dying little towns will feel it too.

While this puke we call the President was campaigning he said with a sneer that “the suburbs BORE me.” If creepoid finds the ‘burbs boring he must be comatose when it comes to the farmland of America. The man isn’t for anyone but himself and his urban gang of thugs.

I don’t know how Obama can call the ‘burbs boring. With the much loved “diversity” the ‘burbs are now beginning to look and sound like his beloved urban areas.
I know I learned to love the diversity when my house was broken into by my “diverse” neighbors, and another type of “diverse” neighbor started an 8am-4pm rap concert two houses away last Sunday morning. This was after a Saturday night spent listening to him, outside on his cell phone, arguing with his…well I won’t use the term,while he went on for 25 minutes using every swear word in the book until the cops came.So don’t tellme the ‘burbs are boring.

Also, if anyone thinks that the Dems are going to wake up and smell the tyranny they are kidding themselves. I live in Oregon, our state just keeps going further and further left DESPITE the fact that it’s only making things worse.

With the press on the side of the left, and not just on their side, but active propagandists, and with those on the right UNWILLING to really get out and be pro-active things just won’t change. We can spend all days on the blogs, but have a rally and the numbers that show are pitiful compared with the numbers the left wing nut-balls can turn out. We just don’t have it in us to be pro-active.

Also, someone early said that with the transition to digital there are a lot of useless antenna’s and so people have been “freed” from network TV by being forced to take up cable or satellite. That’s bogus. I’ve been FREE from the CABLE company ever since digital broadcasts began simulcasting a couple years ago. Digital allows me far more channels than analog, and a better picture, and you’d have to be an absolute RETARD to not be able to figure out how to get your CURRENT antenna to work (most antennas are both UHF and VHF), sheesh they’ve only been telling people about this for more than a year.

REAL Democrats are not socialists, nor are they particularly crazy-liberal like the party’s leadership. Most just want to be left alone by the government, just like most Republicans and Independents.

I’ve known this guy LITERALY since First Grade… he’s one of the biggest Weasels I’ve ever met. Tried to shake my hand a few years back at an Atwater 4th of July Parade… and I turned my back on him (my Mom, who taught him English in Junior High was pissed at me for it… but my kids were laughing once I explained who he was)…
