i remember when, pre-Iraq war, the Fox News foreign correspondent would broadcast from Baghdad. i thought “what a total liar & jerk”. duh, he couldn’t tell the truth. oh yeah, greg palkot. he was so damned relieved when he could speak freely.

It could never happen here. If so, you would see crazy, improbable things on Drudge like “ABC TURNS PROGRAMMING OVER TO OBAMA” or “Obama blocks access to visitor lists” or “Obama seeks to give government new powers to seize key companies”.

Well, at least until our dictator shuts down independent news operations in the name of saving the commercial news industry and consolidates operations under a state-run umbrella with yet another unelected/unconfirmed czar who is loyal to the dictator and willing to run the propaganda efforts.
