It serves to hinder growth, democracy, and basic freedoms. We aren’t going to agree with Blue Dogs on much, and there may be only very few principled ones (as opposed to the ones that turn Blue Dog in tight elections), but there are a few we can work with on certain issues, e.g. Joe Lieberman and health care reform and the Iran crisis.

As Obama’s chickens come home to roost, there will be more finger-in-the-wind Blue Dogs moving our way for cover in 2010. I think we should be very wary of those, even if we choose to ally with them on this or that. However, let’s not kick all Blue Dogs because even just a few might come in very handy to restrain the Obamanation. And he needs to be restrained as much as possible.

I’ve concluded (out of desperation) that they’re holding back while certain things unfold – things they didn’t have the power to stop regardless – and will follow up a something VERY major that will point out Obama’s failures one after another…after another…after another.
