Obama on Iran: I cannot be silent, even though I was silent for three days

High drama here as the president calls the Iranian government a “ticking time bomb” that must be dealt with now if America’s future is to be secure. No no, just kidding; that’s what he said about health care. Here we get a hard dose of Hopenchange caution-speak, acknowledging that the protesters have “inspired” Americans and that we respect Iran’s right to decide its own fate but that we’ll continue to pursue “tough” diplomacy with the regime on nukes no matter how odious Ahmadinejad might be. Hey, if we wanted a president who’d throw down the gauntlet and walk away in a situation like this, we would have elected the other guy. Sorry, Iranian kids.
Fun fact: Whereas The One was “shocked and outraged” by the murder of George Tiller, the most he can muster here for mass beatings and cold-blooded killings across Iran is that he’s “troubled.” Make of it what you will.

B-man we have a cancer in this country right now. The damage Obama is wreaking will be around for a long time.
Our great nation entered something known in Geopolitics as Strategic retrenchment in November 2008. It means we are in full retreat across the planet right now. Unfortunately, we have major problems trying to hold off Obama from destroying us from within so things like Iran, North Korea, even Iraq and Afghanistan are going to have to sort themselves out without a real commitment from us…sorry to deflate you but…

Well, Obama can’t very well advocate for free and fair elections in Iraq, can he? Why, pretty soon the citizens of his own country might be screaming for the same thing – then what does he do?

The world isn’t as black and white as those theoretical debates you lefties have in your white ivory towers is it, Barry?
Or simple?
Or as open to your “I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing In Perfect Harmony”, master plan.
Clueless and dangerous.
Conservative American Administrations have been waiting a lifetime for events such as this as the catalyst for change in that country. We are blowing an opportunity here to help the Iranian People, ourselves and mostly, Israel.

Its really terrible and tragic. The worst part is Obama would actually come off looking like a leader, a hero, and would in one fell swoop shut us that stand against him up while upholding the values of the Nation.
All he has to do is admit his Iran policy of “engaging with open hand” was the wrong naive policy. But he won’t…his arrogance and ego won’t let him (it would also implicitly validate Bush’s foreign policy – and they would rather let the Iranian regime destroy those students than ever admit that even implicitly)
you know last time something like this happened in Iran Clinton was POTUS and he did nothing either.

3) he may be there at the insistence of his followers as a prelude to easing him out of power
4) could be there looking for some sort of material or fiancial assistance or diplomatic legitimacy for the clusterfark blood bath that is coming
5) could be there begging the Russians to speed up the Tor missile deliveries becasue he’ll be needing them soon when he provokes the Israelis to attack….

Elections have consequences. Take those Obama bumper stickers off your car, so you can hide your recklessness. There are no words the calamity you have brought the world.

B.O’s friend Chavez is providing those anti-riot forces that are beating the protestors (along with Lebanon).
Also, theres a video on youtube that is very telling, the protestors capture 2 anti-riot police who fell off their motorcycles and just when you dont know what to expect, they hand them water and help them move through the crowd to a place where they can sit.
Its interesting that Obama can speak out for rights of Gitmo detainees but not peaceful protestors…these young kids are literally begging for freedom. The videos are so sad, they tell the camera that they just want the U.S to know that they have no opportunity without freedom.
Surely B.O and the left can empathize with this…right?

Iran is an islamic theocracy run in tandem by fascist clerics drooling over the legalities of buggering underage family members, and a bug eyed “Twelver” intent upon triggering a global nuclear war that will usher in a new era of Mohammedan supremacy in the world.
And guess what folks, the Iranian population supports these whackos! Abdullah Six-Pack is sucking this Koranic crap up by the freakin’ barrel full. Good question.

This issue is too big and too important for The One to really have anything constructive to do with it. You heard him. He is ‘troubled’ by what he sees on TV. Meanwhile, those of us really interested in Human Rights are glued to twitter all night long as we watch in horror as people we come to feel attached to are murdered and/or put their lives at great risk for the values we hold dear.
I’m a little more than “troubled”.
I really want to talk about (outside of twitting and cyberattacking) what Americans (notice I didn’t say America) can do.

Republicans need to get out front on this and support the right of protesting these Iranian elections without fear of violence and recommend an international agency go in and check on the counting of the votes.
Democrats are silent on this; it is an opportunity for Republicans to take the lead and speak up for Democracy and against the Iranian dictatorship rule.
albill on June 16, 2009 at 6:25 AM
“Whereas The One was “shocked and outraged” by the murder of George Tiller, the most he can muster here for mass beatings and cold-blooded killings across Iran is that he’s troubled”. Yea and when PFC William Long was killed by the American Muslin prior to Tiller being killed, the CinC said nothing about PFC Long for a similar period of time as with the Iranian fraudulent election. Obama has his priorities and they seem to be 180 degrees out from mine.

Silent for three days—Obama needs time for straw men to grow. For example, “There are some who say, that the delay in our response signals some degree of weakness. I would say that they are lying.”
You see, Barry needs to have enemies emerge to prove himself reasonable. A leader would know the right thing from the start. Election fraud = bad, Suppression = bad, Leadership = denouncing both.
Barry ain’t got that
ted c on June 16, 2009 at 7:18 AM
I think it means the public exposure of the religious mullahs ruling Iran as corrupt, venal, murderous, craven thieves and despots in bed with the IRG to ensure dictatorship, removes the last veil of legitimacy they enjoyed. And with a population that is tasting both repression and freedom, it doesn’t seem that the future is bright for the Iranian theocracy. It’s potentially very good news for them, for us, for Israel, for the free world, and that’s why Obama finds it troubling.

If you listen to Obama,, it is not just what he is saying. It is how he is not saying it! His tone, his lack of passion for anything concerning Iran.
If you listen to Obama attacking the tea party goers a month or more ago,,, he has more passion in his voice attacking them than he does in standing for these demonstrators in Iran.
He wants to be clear??? No. He wants to say “On the one hand,, uh uh this,, but on the other hand uh uh this.”
JellyToast on June 16, 2009 at 7:47 AM
But that’s just the point. It really is a distraction to his domestic goals of income redistribution and ethnic/racial score settling. His foreign policy goals are to diminish Israel and the US. The Iranians are Obama’s ally in this, so this “revolution” is upsetting to him.

Iran uses Hezbollah and Hamas as proxies to attack Israel, and by extension, its current (former?) biggest supporter, the United States.
If the mullahs can do it, why can’t Obama? He should be unequivically supporting the Iranian people and using them as proxies to fight the Iranian theocracy from within. The Iranians would wet themselves if the situation was reversed and they had the proverbial fox in Israel’s hen house.

A little over a million people show up for this poser’s inauguration and it’s is referred by him as an “historic” event and the sign of a “revolution for change”.
Millions revolt in Iran for Freedom and Democracy and all Obama offers them is that he is “troubled” by what is going on.
Millions of Iranians are protesting an obviously (according to many international accounts)fraudulent election, people are being beaten and shot down in the streets and all Mr. 57 states can do is whine about how we support free speech, don’t know about the validity of the elections, and hope their voices can be heard because they are so inspiring.
Obama could have saved us a lot of time by just coming out and stating,”We will do nothing for you because it does not further my political goals or help me personally”.
For the people of the world who are willing to fight for Freedom and looked to the US as an ally with strong leadership to help lead the way,YOU ARE SCREWED AND ON YOUR OWN.

(via Instapundit)
This is a great outline and start to what a “real” leader would do in light of the massive revolt going on against the mullah’s and their radical agenda.
This moment will also be remembered as a critical wasted effort by Obama to support “real” change for Freedom instead of the obvious fence sitting he is doing by voting “Present” in this crisis.
We have no leadership in the White House and the radical elements of the world know it and are taking full advantage.
A real leader would back Freedom and the people who are fighting and dying for it in the streets.
Instead, the US has a political narcissistic opportunist that is more concerned with his poll numbers and personal interest than what is best for the people of the world.
It is also worth noting that one of the main reasons revolts like this turn into “Tienanmen Square’s” is because the populace has had it’s guns taken from them.
