He said: It was innovation in Muslim communities that developed … our magnetic compass and tools of navigation; our mastery of pens and printing … .

And that certainly seems to be correct.

Don’t forget to take a magnetic compass when you do, though — otherwise, you may wind up on a tarmac in Bermuda before anyone realizes you’ve arrived!
