Santelli and Kudlow are the only ones I can stand on CNBC anymore. Kramer is nothing but a lap dog for Ozbama, having been read the riot act by CEO Imelt. I used to watch him, but since he licked O’s ars and issued a bunch of apologies after he said O was wrecking the economy, it’s off to another channel.

I wonder how long it will be before Kudlow becomes a star on Fox News or Fox Business Network.

In 1993, Barney Frank and the economically illiterate Democrat congress limited the tax deduction for executive salaries to $1 Million. Of course that excluded entertainers and athletes because we all know how vital they are to the economy.

At any rate, that didn’t change the market value for executive compensation-it just distorted it. As a result, companies began issuing more stock options and other perqs to replace the salaries they could no longer write off. That encouraged execs to favor short term gains over the long term health of their companies.

Ironically, execs made a lot more money that way than the traditional salary route.

Once again we are offered a government solution to a government created “problem”.

Like several others besides Frank, the Representatives that control the nation’s purse strings through their various committees should be interviewed in depth by a phalanx of economically wise media types–we know which ones qualify. Somehow, our members of Congress need to be reminded that they work for us.

Neither Frank, Pelosi, Waxman, nor others should be able to get away with this prima donna nonsense. They don’t know the details nor the long and short term consequences of the legislation that they craft. It’s time for them to answer questions, clarify in follow-up questions, respond to alternative options, and justify their thinking. No empty sound bites or straw me/false choices should be allowed.
