TEMS: Christopher & Howe, John Ziegler
posted at 1:00 pm on June 11, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
Today, on the Ed Morrissey Show (3 pm ET), we’ll go into bonus minutes for some fireworks with John Ziegler, fresh off of his battle with MS-NBC and Contessa Brewer. We’ll let John say what Brewer wouldn’t and hear his side of the bait-and-switch the network pulled on John.
In the first hour, though, we’ll have plenty of fireworks with our friends Tommy Christopher and Caleb Howe. We’ll discuss my interview with Melinda Henneberger over Tommy’s firing, as well as the implications or lack thereof of the Holocaust museum shooting. We’ll also talk about David Letterman’s non-apology and weak explanation, and much more!
Now you can join the conversation in the chat room! Be sure to register at Ustream to participate in our raucous live-chat sessions. (And if the log-in prompt doesn’t come up in the chat box below, use this link instead.) Jazz Shaw of The Moderate Voice moderates the chat, and he has his Troll Gun Trivia Contest running before the show, for those who get there early — and are registered!

If it’s okay to call Palin a slut, is it also okay to call Obama derogatory and insulting names?
JohnJ on June 11, 2009 at 1:27 PM
No , you’re ignorant about the medias doctrine in a Banana republic.
the_nile on June 11, 2009 at 1:38 PM
How dare you imply that it is acceptable to call God derogatory and insulting names! Do you not know that blasphemy is an unforgivable sin?

You know, I really don’t care if they did surprise him with a different interviewer at the last minute. I don’t give a rat’s ass about any other off-camera shenanigans, or who got away with calling someone a slut on some other network. Regardless of all that, Ziegler should have kept it classy, instead of looking like that twit from the Obama campaign that Megyn Kelly had to chew up and spit out, and who is now deputy WH press secretary.
You know, some viewers don’t always know all the history, don’t always care about the high drama, they just want someone to tell them the f@#$ing news! Ziegler could have held up his end of that instead of being a smart-ass, and giving her whatever ammunition she needed (on a silver platter) to blow the guy off.
There’s a time to hold ‘em, and a time to fold ‘em.

You lost me when you got to Jazz Shaw. That guy is as dumb as Letterman. Well, almost as dumb.

I used to listen to Ziegler on 640 kfi out of LA. I am here to tell you that this man is the most relentless advocate for what is good and right. His radio show was riveting and so intense. Three hours of raw passion and analysis. He is very very analytical and could crush just about anybody in a debate. I think he is a journalist of the highest rank and lightning quick on his feet. And Ziegler is fearless. I think he has hosted for Rush and he does this without batting an eye.
Many have no clue who they are dealing with in this guy. He is one high functioning dude. His debates are like a cage fight when he engages the enemy and he does awesome interviews.
After he left 640 KFI I knew he would reappear someday. Man he is on a roll.

Hi! I’m new. But I think when it comes to libs, their motto is “Good enough for thee but no for me” … Sound about right?

Imus had a contract with CBS to be provacative to push the limits. Imus sued and won his contract law suit against CBS.
I don’t know what kind of Contract Letterman has but I bet his lawyers are reviewing it:) CBS can’t afford to keep firing people they are in a snatch 22 LOL.

Ed
I think the real question about Letterman and his ilk is which category does he belong in “Sinker” or “Floater”. I think we should all stop pretending this guy has an ounce of class. If he wants us to judge him by his jokes than lets. I vote Sinker category.
