Olby and guest on the Letterman saga: Palin’s kind of become the villain in all this, hasn’t she?
posted at 10:17 pm on June 11, 2009 by Allahpundit
Believe it or not, this trainwreck wasn’t even the number one story tonight. That was reserved for Carrie Prejean, with Village Voice troll Michael Musto reprising his role as hatchet man by calling her a “biotch” while fantasizing with Olby about her career melting down. Somehow, some way, Margaret Carlson manages to sink lower than even the modern-day Murrow here, first by spinning Letterman’s non-apology as an apology more profuse than any talk-show host has ever delivered and then arguing that Bristol’s actually fair game for crap like this because she was, after all, a presence at the Republican convention or something. Try and fathom a mind that actually searches for ways to justify goofing on an 18-year-old single mother as a whore.
Your exit quotation: “There’s a worst person in the world somewhere in this story but it’s not David Letterman anymore.” No, I’m not kidding.

Which Palin is it? The kid?

Palin is the villain now?
This is becoming surreal.
Oh, and Olby? I ordinarily restrict my colorful language to milder forms, but for you, I’ll make an exception: GFY.

I hate to sink to their level, but my wellspring of forgiveness and tolerance has run dry. The day that this psychotic, venom-spewing POS gets knifed in an alley will be the happiest day of my life.
As for this witch Carlson I seem to remember her tantrum in the wake of the 2000 election where in her desperation to obfuscate the issue of the Democrats discounting overseas military ballots, she referred to our servicemen as “tax evaders”. I thought she couldn’t possibly be any more stupid or morally repugnant than that. But now, to say that Governor Palin is somehow responsible for this kind of sick innuendo hurled at her and is the villain for defending her child sinks to a level of irrationality and evil that is impossible for any decent person to figure out.
This is not political opposition anymore. These people are the ENEMY, every bit as much as Al-Qaeda. And FWIW I will crawl miles across broken glass to get Sarah Palin elected POTUS in 2012, if for no other reason than to see all of these deranged psychopaths cleanse this nation by way of mass suicide.

I wouldn’t Fark Olby with my ex-husband’s d*ck. And, that transgender chick/dude that blames Palin for putting her kids *out there* obviously has not watched media of any sort in 1 1/2 years. Malia at LionKing/London never happened, much like the Holocaust. “Compare and contrast class, reports due on Tuesday”.

Right Dave. So the joke was supposed to have gone–”One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game. During the 7th inning her daughter in Alaska was knocked up by Alex Rodriquez.” And you just left out the Alaska part because hey, it was self-evident, right? Sarah Palin, and Alex Rodriguez, and daughter Willow were all at Yankee Stadium (in NYC), but obviously you were talking about the daughter in Alaska. Obviously. That’s what you’re going with? Sheesh!

Actually there are only six, breathing that is. The seventh died two years ago but, her friends having granted her last wish, she was propped up in a chair facing a TV tuned to Obermann.
Funny thing though: she’s planted in one of those vanity director’s chairs and the name on the back says “southerngirl”.

Hammerhead, meet nail.
We are capitalists (at least most of us are). We have to respond in the most capitalistic way – to let their advertisers know that we won’t stand for this crap. And that doesn’t just mean not buying their products, but letting them know directly and in no uncertain terms that if they continue to advertise on shows like this, we will NOT buy their products and will tell everyone we know to do the same.
It really works.
UltimateBob on June 11, 2009 at 11:26 PM
The “zone of privacy” always includes liberal politician’s kids (as it should) but we need to push for a larger zone that includes the Palin daughters as well.
Oh, and Ms. Carlson, when you were “googling” for previous comedians who didn’t apologize- How many female politicians did you find referred to as “slutty,” or reference to their kids being “knocked up?”
There’s a reason for the outrage- this kind of filthy humor about politicians and their families is unprecedented in the modern era.

I don’t even need to watch this. Olbermann is a douchebag (which is an insult to douchbags), and Margaret Carlson is just a sad, pathetic mess.
These people are scrambling because the left won a big election in November, installed a moron in the White House in January and the wheels are already coming off the bus on this little affirmative action experiment… so they have to lash out and attack Sarah Palin.
Pathetic…

Yoop on June 11, 2009 at 11:45 PM
When I think about Palin, I think of her as the GOP’s best “decoy” in the current focus on who might make a run for the Presidency in 2012.
Right now Sarah Palin is taking a lot of heat, but she’s also become the darling of the revitalized Conservative Movement. She has high approval ratings, and is at or near the top of almost every true Conservative’s list of potential candidates for 2012 or 2016. Yet what that means is that she can be out in front right now as a prime Decoy, to deflect all detractors’ attention away from any other potentially strong Conservative GOP presidential candidates.
Without a doubt, people are trying to destroy Palin now so that she will never run ever again in the future, since she really is such a strong candidate. And they, whether Liberal MSMs, Dem/Liberals or Progressives, Moderate Conservatives, “NeoCons”, or Country Club Blueblood pseudo-Conservatives, will also want to target anyone else with the character and gravitas who might also have the ability to energize the solidly Conservative Base in future elections.
So as hard as it is for me to say this, I’m afraid that it might be a better strategy for Sarah to act as a decoy and take the heat and deflect all attention away from every other solidly viable GOP candidate that might step forward, in order for those others not to also become targets for personal destruction to make sure they don’t run either.
We must, simply must, find a way to protect such Conservative candidates and allow them to fly under the radar until the timing is right, so that they can work at building their performance resume to prepare for future aspirations, whether at the state level or the federal level. I hate, just hate, the idea of having to sacrifice someone as dynamic and solid as Sarah Palin by letting her act as a decoy, but I just don’t see any other way around it.
Maybe Sarah herself will have the insight and smarts to be able to figure out how to thwart the efforts of those who are attempting to neutralize and/or marginalize the true Conservative base within the GOP. It would add a whole new dimension to things. But given her family situation and the demands on her in so many other respects as Alaska’s Governor, it would take a SuperWoman to do it. Still, who knows? She might surprise us all!

It’s Olberman’s game and he’s just trying to see how angry he can make the right. Two choices here: either he can be ignored or his comments can be posted and HA will get lots of traffic. I like the second option since someone should get some good out of this manipulative creep and it might as well be HA so maybe it can make the top 100 blogs next time. Just need to be sure that nothing in this scenario benefits Olberman or MSNBC in any way though. And Olberman’s guests ALWAYS agree with him and sport variations on the supercilious smile the lefties specialize in so as to look like parents shaking their heads in resignation over a not to bright child.

Margaret is a bald face liar – no way she knows how to even spell Google let alone use it.
StockOption on June 12, 2009 at 12:26 AM
Wow. So Margret justifies the abuse of Bristol because she spoke for abstinence after not practicing herself? I guess Bristol using her status as a single mom as something NOT to do isn’t an issue. The only issue is that because she spoke out she is fair game for despicable turds like Olberdouche, Carleson, letterdouche, and our resident puerile sleaze southern gal.
Folks, the liberal mind is deranged and the only reality that makes sense is one where chaos rules. Up is down and down is up, etc.
csdeven on June 12, 2009 at 12:37 AM
By Carlson’s logic, Sasha and Malia being “paraded” on the stage in Denver makes them fair game too.
But again, I ask people to think back a little over a year, to another David (Shuster) making a comment about a female politician that could be interpreted as calling her a whore.
Chelsea was nearly a decade older than Bristol is now, and the phrase “pimped out” has many non-sexual interpretations. Hillary got a personal apology from the head of NBC News, and Shuster was suspended from the very network Olby broadcasts on, for two weeks.
Someone explain to me how the Palins are the bad people in this.

The attacks and dirt that have been thrown at Sarah Palin, her family and most of all her kids is just unbelievable, we’ve got Talk show hosts calling her slutty, making vile jokes about her daughters, I’ve even heard adults, parents, MOTHERS make the most horrible remarks about an innocent baby with down syndrome(Trig) it’s been truly sickening to witness.

You gotta wonder about a guy like Priss Matthews who gets a tingle up his leg by BO, virtually slobbered all over Bill Clinton, but he see’s someone like Sarah Palin and he just hates her. The untold story here is Priss Matthews has a blue suit that looks like it was hung under a bird feeder for two months. Monica’s got nothing on him. I’m just waiting for him to call her a “fish” on the tube. Obly has been frustrated ever since George Micheal was banned from highway rest stop bathrooms. I think we’ve let Letterman off the hook too soon. The campaign to sink the guy should be on-going. And no, he has not been punished enough. It will not be enough until he either properly apologizes, quits, or is fired. Boycott his show, if you are not doing it already. There aren’t enough libs out there to make up for the absence of the entire right. This basically nasty guy has got to go! I plan to check out his sponsors more carefully so I get the right ones and continue writing to them to complain. Did you ever wonder what kind of people can be constantly spewing forth vile comments like the ones directed at Sarah Palin? I mean, really, would any of you be able to look at yourself in the mirror if you constantly took part in disgusting dialogue like you read on the left blogs, see in the MSM every day? I truly believe that Republicans are more decent, more caring, and certainly happier people than the majority of the people on the left. I don’t believe that the hateful dialogue comes from out of the blue, it begins with hate in the heart.

I’m convinced the left hates (and it is hate) Palin so much because she truly represents mainstream America. The left hates the average American and considers themselves intellectually and morally superior. Remember they know what is best for us! Given that anything they do to Palin is considered fair game to them. We just need to keep reminding them that the past election notwithstanding, we outnumber them. Too many Americans were more concerned with “making history” to pay attention to what that really meant.

Keith Olberman emanates a great deal of hatred and venom, while and Margaret Carlson and Keith Olberman together come off as average intelligence individuals, if that, pretending to be intellectuals.
Olberman appears to have an emotional and psychological disorder, and Carlson and Olberman wraps their personal bias and hatred of Sarah Palin in faux intellectualism.
It comes off as phony and rather snarky and smug, as well as worthy of ridicule and mocking.

Yes, Alinsky libs have replaced traditional standards of character and integrity with expediency and dedication to the ideology. Where once liberals used character and integrity to guide their lives, Alinsky libs use them as cudgels to bash their opponents.
Since Alinsky libs feel traditional values don’t apply to them, trying to improve their behavior by calling them up is an ineffectual waste of time. Our values roll off them like water off a duck’s back (or wind off a duck’s butt).

Olbergoebbels. Ha. Haha. Hahaha…
I won’t put this jerkoff on for even a second to make sure he doesn’t get a rating for it. I’m a big believer in Karma, and this joker has it coming someday. If all the people that are disgusted by his twisting of truth and reality would not tune in, he would lose most of his “audience”. I’d like to see someone like Dr. Keith Ablow diagnose this sick pervert on air with Glenn Beck sometime. Really give it to this nut on the air with a professional opinion. Olbergoebbels is a sick, sick “man”.

ugh….lots of ugly talk in this thread. I think there is a place (like this thread) for sarcasm and criticism, even mocking. But…more off color humor and genocide, albeit joking, is kind of beneath us. We are talking about the issue of sexualizing a woman for no other reason than her politics and we, then, use similar language to decry her critics? Throwing in a little political “cleansing” for good measure? I agree with the anger…I am angry, too. But, I like Hot Air because even though there is healthy teasing and some profanity, generally it stays above the gutter and I really like that. We lose the moral high ground when we engage in said gutter language.

On topic: If Palin was once a “victim” was Olbie the first in line to her defense? Or, was he, the opportunist he is, waiting for her to speak out for her family to call her, um, a political opportunist? Hypocrisy in full display again, I see. I wonder if he ever gets sick of himself when he sees his face in the mirror every morning? I used to be semi liberal…but the cognitive dissonance nearly did me in so I pulled myself up and embraced conservatism. :o)

The grassroots is hammering CBS and Letterman. Hillbuzz is a buzzin, and other groups are finally joining in.
Keep e-mailing, phonin, the whole gammut. The pressure is really growing.
We are taking a page out of their Alinsky book and shoving it up their a*s and out their mouth.
Don’t stop til that punk is fired or at least put on sabbatical.
Cuda on the Conan show? Hmmmmm.
