You’re fired: Trump cans Miss California; Update: They wanted me to do Playboy, says Prejean

Turns out the beauty queen’s a prima donna. Who knew?
Sigh. I wanted this one to be different.
But it was Trump who gave the final OK to fire her, FOXNews.com has learned.
“I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California Organization and I gave her the opportunity to do so,” Trump said in the same documents. “Unfortunately it just doesn’t look like it is going to happen and I offered Keith my full support in making this decision.”…
According to a source, Prejean has aspirations to write a book and pursue other opportunities, which she will be able to do now that she has been released from her duties as Miss California.
I’m tempted to say we got suckered here, but if she was trying to get fired all along, the time to do it would have been last month when she could still claim political martyrdom. Instead she got bagged for insubordination. An e-mail from Prejean to the state pageant director, also via Fox News:
When asked to go through the proper proctol and provide details so events could be set in a master calendar, Prejean responded: “You do not cooperate with me, and you pick and chose the things YOU want me to do. That is not happening anymore. Stop speaking for me. I have MY own voice. What are u gonna do fire me for volunteering for the special olympics hahaha ur crazy No I am doing this appearance. You do not need details. Its for the SPECIAL OLYMPICS!!! You just need to know I will be doing it alright,” before insisting that Miss California officials provide “full security as per her request.”
Said Trump to TMZ, “To me she was the sweetest thing. Everyone else — she treated like s**t.” Exit question one: Is the bloom off the rose? Doesn’t mean she can’t or won’t have her right to dissent on gay marriage defended, but the image of sweet, unassuming Carrie is, I dare say, shattered. Exit question two: Interesting how it was Fox News that dished the dirt on this when it was the Foxies who chased her down for guest-hosting duties. Was the info selectively leaked to FNC to enhance the embarrassment for her? Or did she alienate people there too and this is a measure of revenge?

Prejean claims pageant honcho Keith Lewis actually asked her last month if she would take two gigs — appearing on “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!” and Playboy. Prejean says Lewis told her Playboy offered $140,000 for her to pose semi-nude. She rejected both offers.
A few minutes ago we talked to Lewis who said he was not pushing her to take either gig — but merely passing the offers along. Lewis said Prejean had insisted they not turn anything down without running it by her…
Prejean says, “What’s behind this I think is a political debate. They don’t agree with the stance that I took [on Prop 8]. Shana [Moakler] is trying to bash me. They don’t like me. From day one they wanted me out and they got what they wanted.”
Prejean also told us she couldn’t believe Donald Trump would say she treated people in the pageant “like s**t.” For the record, Trump did tell Harvey Levin that on the phone earlier today. Prejean said if Trump really feels that way she’s sorry, adding: “I’ve shown respect for every party involved, even when they haven’t shown it back.”
Er, wasn’t the original pretext for firing her that she posed “semi-nude”? And now, according to her, the pageant itself wanted her to do a semi-nude shoot in Playboy? I’m skeptical.

If she really is a jerk, it is extremely disappointing. I would normally tend to side against anything California Pageant Team related after their fiasco of a reaction, but Trump was on her side and apprently she’s done enough to tick him off as well. It shouldn’t demean her what she said, but when you are in the limelight, the fact is that it does hurt the message. Sigh….

Yeah, it’s not like I have ever really trusted Trump either, but he did give her a chance. If he was/is just going with the political winds, then that is on him. But if she is really a prima donna then that is just, well…disappointing is the best word I can come up with right now.

I’m not excusing rude, prima donna behavior, but why should she be “sweet and unassuming?” She’s a grown woman in a competitive, high profile position.
Why can’t opinionated women to be sucessful, attractive or — God forbid — both, without being called slutty flight attendants or evil b****es or becoming the subject of violent rape fantasies?
In the end, Prejean is a beauty pageant contestant and therefore not exactly on the list of brainy power brokers. But she’s not being vilified for being Miss California. She’s being vilified for speaking her mind.

No, if the quote is correct, she got fired for failing to follow policies that contest rules apparently required her to follow and, as Allah suggests, it seems she wanted to be fired. This is like a new employee excusing themselves from the employer’s rules, rapidly becoming an ex-employee.

The jist of it was, yes it’s major heart-ache if what’s being represented is true, but pardon me for not believing an anonymous source, and the pageant folks who’ve had it out for her since day one of this craziness, and put aside all I’ve seen from her.
Btw, she’s now free to do what she wants. Probably will end up as another blessing in disguise, free from the shackles of these pageant idiots.
No doubt I take her side on this.
