Guy who attended Jeremiah “Them Jews” Wright’s church for 20 years: We must be vigilant about anti-semitism

posted at 8:00 pm on June 10, 2009 by Allahpundit

I quite agree, but this is the wrong day for a lecture, champ.

I am shocked and saddened by today’s shooting at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. This outrageous act reminds us that we must remain vigilant against anti-Semitism and prejudice in all its forms. No American institution is more important to this effort than the Holocaust Museum, and no act of violence will diminish our determination to honor those who were lost by building a more peaceful and tolerant world.

Today, we have lost a courageous security guard who stood watch at this place of solemn remembrance. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends in this painful time.

“Remaining vigilant” evidently doesn’t include periodically checking your church bulletin for Hamas screeds or challenging the right of Holocaust-deniers who pine publicly for Israel to be wiped off the map to possess nuclear power.

As I have no grand ending to this post, I’ll turn you over to Glenn Beck for Wednesday’s apocalyptic thought of the day. I’m not overly worried about pogroms against conservatives, but his point about anti-semitism during a global economic downturn in a dhimmified western culture is well taken.

Nice little speech there from Obama. It would have been nicer had he given it to his racist, anti-Semitic minister 20 or so years ago after he heard his first anti-Jew sermon from Jeremiah’s pulpit. And nicer still if Obama and his lovely wife had decided — at that moment — “Hey, let’s not stay in this racist, Jew-hating church.” But, alas, they stayed for 20 years and would be there still, nodding and applauding every attack on the “evil Jews,” if anti-Semitism weren’t so darn inconvenient for a national candidate. But let’s give him a little credit: He went to Cairo last week and had the “courage” to tell the Arab world that the Holocaust, you know, really happened and stuff.

“Yeah, I think Jews suck”
Minister Crazy:
“What was that?”
Member other than Obama:
“‘Jews Suck” bumper stickers
Should be issued”
Minister Crazy:
“The brother says
‘Jews Suck’ bumper stickers
Should be issued
All in favour of what he said

“Ay!”
Minister Crazy:
“If, however, you are opposed
Signify by saying ‘no’”
crickets…
Obama:

Um where was all of this heart felt sorrow for the family of Pvt. Long? I mean one could look at the Prez’s reactions in a totally racist way if one chose to:
Long-White shot and killed by a black muslim and no acknowledgement from The One, no mention of Long’s willingness to shed blood for our freedom; the security guard-Black and shot by a white neonazi and suddenly the prez is oozing with plattitudes about his strategic importance in guarding a monument. Maybe I just read too much into things!

Wright is a hater and that’s all that needs to be said about that. Whether or not his anti-semitic statement drove Van Brunn over the edge is unknown. I doubt it. Van Brunn is a racist so I don’t know whether or not he would take the view of a racist black man and apply it to his own life as a catalyst for action.

TampaBayBull on June 10, 2009 at 8:35 PM

As near as I can tell, President Obama has had no comment on Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s statement that “them Jews” are keeping him from speaking with the President.

Apparently, the MSM is going to continue burying or rationalizing away the anti-Semitic statements of Obama’s pastor for 20 years, Obama’s appeasement of radical Islamisit states, and Obama’s pressure on Israel to submit to his will regarding a “peace” settlement.

But this piece of fluff coming from the White House will be given great play from the MSM as proof of Obama’s “real” intentions toward Jews, while they play up the the “hate” of “right-wing extremists.”

And that’s the way it is.

Loxodonta on June 10, 2009 at 8:37 PM

What message does it send when an abortionist and a security guard get murdered by lunatics–and a timely, strongly worded response is sent out by the White House?

obama’s hypocracy knows no bounds.

HornetSting on June 10, 2009 at 8:16 PM

It’s like Bewitched. Everything Obama says has just about nothing to do with either what he does or plans to do, or with the way things actually are.

Obama and Company figure they can just act like Darrin and Samantha Stevens. When someone sees an elephant conjured up in the living room, they just say, “What elephant?” When a person suddenly disappears, they say, “I didn’t see anybody.”

What kills me is Obama, et. al actually think this sort of “audacity” is going to work, or keep working.

And I know the MSM is aiding and abetting this denying of the obvious (for example, Michelle Obama as a fashion plate and the second coming of Jackie Kennedy), but I really don’t think it’s going to get them very far.

Take this business of spending money like mad then coming out and saying, “OK now, we can’t afford to spend money” is the latest. I really REALLY don’t think most Americans are that totally stupid. (Especially when he is busy carving out exceptions for his own pet projects.)

I mean, Obama really did look plain foolish standing there intoning about how we had to stop spending money, to anyone who has been paying attention to what he’s been spending.

And this business with Wright – well, only the most besotted Obamabots can possibly continue to pretend that he wasn’t close to and supportive of Wright all those years, or pretend not to understand exactly the type of person Wright is.

When the Emperor really doesn’t have any clothes on – and he doesn’t – I think it is all going to devolve in the end to mostly to a matter of trying to save some face for the poor Emperor as he becomes, essentially, a laughing stock.

But people will also be mad – about being fooled (as they see it), about things like Wright, and so forth. People don’t like chronic liars.

O Allahpundit this racist sh1t seems cyclical….IMO the jooos are holding all the cards- especially in that neighborhood. Israel is strong and secure. We Americans of all shapes on the other hand should worry, we are being weakend at every turn while the crazy left gives the egomaniac Chairman glowing speeches to read. We better watch out as we piss off those allies who would cover our backs from the his new friends, any of whom would nuke Israel or US to bring on the thirteenth imam the first chance they get. IMO we should worry one of those boats from NK we won’t touch will deliver a nuke to Iran, and their elections are a joke, any meaningful opposition candidate was already killed.

Besides the fact that the Jooos gave Gaza for peace as it’s now hamastan, there is simply not enough LAND for two states there unless the arabs give up land. There it is said, there are simply not enough chairs for everyone to sit. If not for hi tech Israel GDP would not exist. So what happens when Iran or others are about to get their hands on WMD. Will Obama get his hands on Jerusalem, and would want to be anywhere near that fight (with the Big guy!)?

Rea1ityCheck on June 10, 2009 at 9:58 PM

When right and wrong are relative the only important thing is to do what seems right. Obama is merely playing a role.

Words are not the tools of creeds and laws in his mind, but part of stagecraft utilized for mere effect. There is nothing else there. Beneath the facade there is naught but a pure lust for attention and power.

I’ve been trying to post about Wright’s anti-semitism on several threads on HuffPo today. Last I checked, none have gotten through.

Everyone needs be aware of where the danger is coming from, and those lefties are still in denial. So many of them still think anti-semitism is primarily a Republican thing exacerbated by “Faux” news.

chewydog on June 10, 2009 at 10:15 PM

The Von Brunn shooting was a terrorist act and a horrible crime. His victim was a hero and I pray for him and his family. Von Brunn in no way represents my views, any more than scum like Fred Phelps represents view of most Christians. But I know that Charles Johnson and other mendacious individuals on the left will use the opportunity to blame this act on right wing extremism. Von Brunn was wearing a confederate hat wasn’t he?

But the Reverend Wright (why doesn’t Wright count as a Christianist to Sullivan?) gives another example of Jew hatred, with his rant today.

Granted Wright is not a criminal or a murderer. Wright just mentions that Israelis are engaged in ethnic cleansing in Gaza. That is true. The Israeli Defense Forces did do ethnic cleansing in Gaza, they evicted several thousand Jooooooooooz so the Palestinians could have their ethnically pure Shangra la. How has that turned out?

So let’s question President Obama about anti Semitism. Obviously Von Brunn is a violent murderer beyond the pale for any rational person, but Wright’s comments are not acceptable are they? Ask if it is true Barack Obama told Israel it cannot bomb Iran. These are all legitmate questions. I would suggest we start asking them now.

They’re using that idiot Shep Smith’s statements about his weird emails as more evidence of Republican nuttery. Thanks Shep.

None of my comments are getting through there, where formerly they did.

The columnists are not reporting all the info about vonBrunn. I know it’s just the internets, but the commenters are calling for censorship and gun control. I think there’s a possibility that this incident and the Tiller one will be an excuse for lefties to do some bad stuff. Gird your loins.

Thanks! We just got power restored here in Flower Mound, and there are power lines, trees, fences, etc. down everywhere. Quite a storm–80+ mph winds.

BTW, glad Obama was two days quicker in issuing a statement condeming the Holocaust Museum incident than he was with the slain Army recruiter in Little Rock. Both despicable acts deserved equal attention and response.

omg – gotmylifeback
it must have been really bad before.

usedtobeinmich on June 10, 2009 at 10:50 PM

This from someone who bows to Muslim leaders and is this close to throwing Israel to the wolves. What a total joke.

But you know what’s really sad? Most people will still believe him!

Dark-Star on June 10, 2009 at 10:53 PM

I still believe him…hell, I voted for him. :)

We know. Your stupidity is obvious.

Fired up for what, a book burning? A pogrom?

Himmler would’ve give his eye teeth for a thousand of you.

g0tmylifeback on June 10, 2009 at 8:09 PM

Perhaps you can provide for us the proper context?

Mr. President, get your priorities in order. Your employees deserve more than you’ve given them.

JeffWeimer on June 10, 2009 at 9:25 PM

I was wrong, the guard and federal employee who was viciously gunned down, Stephen Tyrone Johns, has been properly honored with the President’s words. He deserves them as much as anyone who has put themselves on the line – no matter if it was expected or not.

I still think the President should recognize the similarly extremist ideology behind Pvt. Long’s tragic murder.

For that, he still needs to check his priorities.

B Hussein Obama: I hate antisemitism, while Iran builds their bomb?

“Hey Michelle, get my fiddle” while he is dressed in Roman toga except his Rome is Israel.

Photo ops and TV coverage is ALL this guy is, no substance at all.

dthorny on June 10, 2009 at 11:46 PM

Kinda hard for me to listen to a person who spent 20 years in an antisemitic church lecture about antisemitism and actually take him seriously.

Obama has about as much credibility in sympathizing with today’s tragedy and world Jewry as he does when he equated the Holocaust with (Arab imposed) genocide on (itself) Arabs in Gaza during his Cairo speech; or should I say, his Cairo Genuflection, Part II.

This man drilled down on Wright Hate for 20 years and is the BESTEST pal of one Rashid Khalidi, Arafat’s old PLO public relations tool. You know Khalidi, the man Obama toasted and roasted at a retirement dinner, caught on tape but held by the LA TIMES.

Obama and the mainscream media has obssessed with ooozing emo coverage 100-fold more on the Holocaust shooting than it did on the shooting at the Arkansas army recruiting station.

Of course, 24/7 coverage about a killer WHITE SUPREMACIST instead of 15 minutes on home-grown Islamist Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad speaks volumes.
