The Best I remember was that Mr. Immigration would not allow anyone talking about the Messiah. Something to do with race whatever the hell that is suppost to mean. Read My Lips, ” The Stimulus bill will save jobs only if you act now”. And to think about the crazy fools who believed it.

Who said it was a popularity contest?

I see it as the larger subject that so many posters here have taken issue with – Hollywood in general getting involved with politics.

How many times over the last couple of years here at HotAir have we all taken issue with Penn and Clooney?

Now we casn suddenly cut Hollyweird some slack because of idealogical reasons?

I am just saying – are we all able to jump on the hypocrite train when we hear what we want to hear?

What an excellent exposition of our nation’s dilemma. Unfortunately for Mr. Voight, character assassination begins any minute now in the press and at lib sites everywhere.

Nothing.

Like anything else – it merely depends on your idealogical bent.

If you are Right leaning you think Jon Voight is the living end, or if you are Democrat you embrace Penn.

But I will say this to keep it Fair & Balanced. All who had a problem with Penn speaking against Bush, i.e., those who were sick of Hollywood getting into politics should have the same problem with this guy.

If not to do so, would make whomever a hypocrite and an idealogue – bigtime.

Kudos to Jon Voight for having the cojones to speak out even if he doesn’t work again a day in his life.

Glenn Beck just interviewed Jon on his radio show this AM. He (Jon) is still fired up!

I love Ted, but AR-15s on the campaign trail wouldn’t go over so well. ;o)

I dunno, I think a President who knows how to handle a weapon would go over quite well with us veterans, hunters and the rest who believe in a strong 2nd amendment.

It would also cut down on the need for secret service protection if we let him pack heat. ;-)

I don’t know if this says more about AP’s misunderstanding of rhetoric or of nuclear devices. I thought the speech was restrained. Clearly the “false prophet” line tripped AP’s trigger. Maybe because “false prophet” is sometimes construed to mean “anti-Christ”.

I’m surprised they invited him instead of Colon Powell.

So, perhaps, either more than half are conservatives or they had enough pragmatists to nudge Voight over the finish line. Maybe they’re not a complete loss.
