Video: Jon Voight goes thermonuclear on “false prophet” Obama

posted at 4:32 pm on June 9, 2009 by Allahpundit

Alternate title: “Jon Voight begs to never work in Hollywood again.” He’s no Daniel Hannan but he ain’t bad: Ten full minutes of rhetorical roundhouses here, from Obama’s fraudulent posturing as a “pragmatist” during the campaign to the perils of his Israel policy to the “oppression” of his economic blueprint to the pure polemic of referring to him as a “soft-spoken Julius Caesar.” He’s unfair when he describes our new foreign policy as getting together with enemies in a little playground — The One did, after all, double down against the Taliban in Afghanistan — but if this new Rasmussen poll is accurate, Captain Diplomacy’s willingness to meet rogue regimes “without preconditions” is already wearing thin with a huge majority of the public. Smart power or soft power?

If you need an extra incentive to watch to the very end, the boss gets a shout out. Exit question: Voight in 2012?

Need to check that headlines thread on Hannan…I’m not sure Daniel Hannan is a Hannan, if you know what I mean. Not everybody is what they appear to be these days.

He’s unfair when he describes our new foreign policy as getting together with enemies in a little playground

Not unfair, at all. The Precedent is, clearly, on the other side. You’d have to be hopelessly deluded not to see that.

— The One did, after all, double down against the Taliban in Afghanistan

Big whoop. “Double down”? Hardly. He continued policy that would have caused a major uproar, had he changed it. The Precedent was too busy taking America apart in other spheres to let this situation put a crimp in his style.

She’s pretty smart. You may not agree with some of her choices, but she strongly believes in individual liberty, and exercises that freedom. And there’s worse things to do than adopting orphans from the wreckage of failed African states.

What arrow?

Don’t you know….

Fred’s gaze can kill small animals.

There are only three things that can kill Superman: silly “rocks”, Fred Thompson and Jon Voight

Fred Thompson once stood on our south border and glared at Mexico. Jon Voight once stood on our northern border and peaked in on Canada. There population of the United States dropped to 250 million for a month.

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on June 9, 2009 at 4:41 PM

There was a long pause after that. Let it sink in. He called Obama out for his illegal campaign.

Voight made no secret of his feelings, and beliefs politically. He did speak at the RNC, and gave a few interviews, during the campaign.

In my opinion, he’s to be praised. Someone from Hollywood being this vocal, and this passionate about their beliefs, knowing full well it goes against the majority grain in Hollyweird, is great.

Thank you Jon, it won’t be forgotten. As cliche as this may sound, He is, a great American!!!

Once again… Jon Voight gets tons of gratitude for speaking out and speaking so eloquently. In an industry filled with vultures who parrot the party line for work, he’s a true patriot. (For brainless poseurs see: Megan Fox)

Voight’s articulate explanations are a stand for conservatism. I very much appreciate what he’s doing. Thanks also to Andrew Brietbart, Gary Sinise, the Zucker Bros, Lionel Chetwynd and Gary Graham. They have the talent to deliver fierce counter punches at a time when Hollywood’s ‘other voice’ has to hit back, and hard.

Vermont Neighbor on June 9, 2009 at 5:03 PM

AZCoyote on June 9, 2009 at 5:00 PM

What I once read her remark was about that was that she hadn’t forgiven her father for cheating, so she said, on her mother. Jolie’s sympathies were with her mother, who’d since passed away, and left her with resentments about her father for hurting her mother due to infidelity, so I read her having said.

It’s an entirely understandable human series of emotional issues, hardly unique to them among the vast numbers of families, so because of that, I say it’s understandable (not that I’d approve or such, but that the episodes are understandable).

Lourdes on June 9, 2009 at 5:08 PM

So I would venture a guess that’s she fairly pro-life.

And honestly, some of the girls who are the most wild, punk-rock, blood-in-a-vial-on-my-necklace crazy turn out to be awesome conservative or libertarian women, especially after they get the incredible “personal responsibility” experience of raising a baby.

Feinstein’s up — I think — next year but it’s said she’s running for CA Governor (either/or, I can’t recall).

Either way, CA would be more ruined. I really would like to see Feinstein sent into retirement, as also Boxer (who I don’t know about as to her next ‘need’ for another election).

It would truly be wonderful if CA could elect a Senator, at least one, from among Republicans. Nothing in the state will ever change until that happens — the state legislature is saturated with far left (very far left) Democrats and Feinstein and the DNC control all that money from the CA public workers’ union/s, it’s madness there until or unless the Senate seats change party. Even a RINO from CA would be an improvment and it pains me to even think as much.

Americans have seen adversity before and recovered. We can recover from the economic disaster Obama’s policies are making. We can come back from another terrorist attack that Obama’s policies seem to be inviting. But how would Israel come back from a successful nuclear strike from Iran?

Israel is such a geographically tiny country. Several nuclear strikes could kill most of its population and destroy most of its infrastructure. It would be another holocaust.

Such an attack is something the United States and the world have a moral obligation to ensure never happens. Yet, Obama seems willing to gamble with Israel’s very existence. Of all the dangerous policies he is pursuing, this is the most morally repugnant.
