Why, nothing. Aside from a few liberals, like Glenn Greenwald, who haven’t sold their souls, it’s just one of the prices they’ll grimly pay to keep The One in power.

The worst came to mind. He was strapped down during his sleep, and Pelosi (aka Alien) laid some eggs in his ears. ROFL!!!

Bush was trying to save live…I don’t really know or care to think what Obama may want in the future.

The example being TARP. I think Bush never intended for things to get so out of hand, but actions have consequences especially when he should have realized that the dems would have so much power.

McCain, I can understand his mindset, having been a victim of torture for years. I don’t know him personally, but I’d like to think, that had he been elected, he would have kept the troops out in harms way currently, safe, and out of reach, of what surely would be retribution, at these documents, and pictures, release.

We all acknowledge the need for secrecy, especially during a time of war. But what is to prevent the state from using the national security argument to coverup illegal activity.

As Madison put it in Federalist 10, ‘you must enable the government to control the governed; but in the next instance obliget it to control itself’. We want to give the government the power to protect us but at the same time ensuring that those powers aren’t abused or misused.

A pity the Chinese aren’t as gullible or economically ignorant as some of our electorate to buy one word from Treasury or the Pres.

They certainly haven’t expected a whole series of these defenses, starting with the NSA’s warrantless surveillance program, to the set of pictures depicting abuse by the military of a few detainees, to this refusal to cooperate on the granddaddy of all Bush-era issues for the Left — the so-called “torture regime” of the Bush administration.

That assumes that Bush’s critics were dealing in good faith. A fact that I don’t think is in evidence sir.
