Letterman Top Ten: Palin has a “slutty flight attendant look”; Audio: “Pathetic,” says Palin

posted at 3:25 pm on June 9, 2009 by Allahpundit

I bet Ashley Herzog’s bummed he didn’t pull this a day earlier, huh? It would have made a sweet addition to her latest column. The best part: Letterman wondering why Slutty Flight Attendant didn’t stop by the show.

I guess if you can’t make ‘em laugh anymore, you might as well make ‘em wince. You missed your calling as a writer for Playboy, Dave.

Update: Via Conservatives 4 Palin, a double dip of class. This one’s from the monologue.

Update: Conservatives 4 Palin has audio from John Ziegler’s radio show of Palin’s reaction. She’s not amused but cheerful as always.

Update (Ed): John Ziegler has his entire interview with Governor Palin here.

Can’t believe he is still on the air waves.

Chuck Nice said that she’s like herpes. But since he’s black he can say anything.

I don’t think I’ve ever watched this man’s show.

Except for the YouTube video with Jaquin

obviousorange on June 9, 2009 at 3:55 PM

When NBC had to choose between Letterman and Leno for Johnny’s replacement, they definitely made the right choice.
HoOwever, Conan is going to tank. Letterman needs to just go away.

kingsjester on June 9, 2009 at 3:55 PM

Bitter, unfunny, angry old man.

Hawkins1701 on June 9, 2009 at 3:55 PM

No wonder he got passed over for Tonight Show those many years ago… the studio execs knew the real Letterman. Oh well, he fits in nicely to the unwatched Crappy Broadcasting Network.

trace_9r on June 9, 2009 at 3:55 PM

I think it’s all in the way you’re wired. Carson was a class act by nature. Letterman is a dirty rotten pig to the core.

sherry on June 9, 2009 at 3:49 PM

Not too sure about that. I know Carson has passed and one should not speak ill of the dead, but I recall that as soon as he left the show he and Ed McMahon publicly criticized and mocked Leno. I always liked Leno and thought he deserved better.

I agree with your sentiments about Letterman, though.

Say what you want about Letterman’s “comedy.” He definitely plays to his audience, but he’s a pretty good guy in person. One of the few entertainers who’s committed to the U.S.O. Goes over to Iraq or Afghanistan every Christmas to entertain the troops.

The guy might be a flaming lib, but he’s not evil.

Interweb Troll on June 9, 2009 at 3:56 PM

This is actually Letterman’s incredibly twisted attempt to maintain relevance. He ceased being important long ago, but Palin is. If he keeps knocking her, he’ll wind up in the news simply b/c she makes headlines. Similarly, Palin is probably the only reason Couric hasn’t been dumped by CBS news (although her exit papers are probably in the making). At times, I almost wish Palin would say “see ya, going back to my great life” so that we could witness how many people would be immediately unemployed.

Erich66 on June 9, 2009 at 3:56 PM

I haven’t watched Letterman in about 10-15 years. I’m not missing a thing.

CheeksMagee on June 9, 2009 at 3:57 PM

I think Palin responded to this on John Ziegler’s program today… not sure, but a poster at C4P posted that she said “good OLD David Letterman”… probably said more and that’s where Drudge got the “pathetic” remark, too.

yogi41 on June 9, 2009 at 3:57 PM

Liberals can say whatever they want without consequences. After all, Obama is president. America is no longer a Christian country.

afotia on June 9, 2009 at 3:57 PM

So, Letterman must have known about the Playboy controversy of targeting conservative women for rape, yet he made up a “joke” about a conservative woman’s 14 year old daughter being raped.

And his audience laughed.

*Dave is back on the bottle..probably feels pressure from Conan…or he is still upset about being passed over for the Late Night show in 1992…*

It would have been a funny joke for Dave to say that Rodriguez made a pass at Sarah since we know he has a fondness for attractive married women (Madonna.) But joking about him knocking up Bristol was over the line.

I’m not sure why anybody is surprised by this. This appears to be typical behavior for him based on what I’ve seen in the past. It IS less usual for him to direct these sorts of comments at political figures but Americans are more political creatures than we were 15 years ago.

dieudonne on June 9, 2009 at 4:01 PM

Letterman is so last century. And so I say to the state run media: keep it up folks, the more you insult Gov. Palin, the stronger she gets. And let’s not forget poor wittle Katie Couric…she’s losing viewers. Awwwwwwww. Karma’s a b%@ch, ain’t it, Katie?

One day he will wake up and realize he has lost market share due to his bias. He and Couric out to hook up and spend time together in irrelevancy. As a conservative, I actually would like to see credible voices on the left as it helps to keep our side honest. I know, dream on.

Oh – I know…she doesn’t have a butch hair cut. Long hair = slut. Right?

But then again, she’s tough.

Wow… that wasn’t even a joke. “During the seveth inning stretch, Palin’s daughter was knocked up by A-Rod.”

That doesn’t even make sense. A-Rod isn’t known for impregnanting anyone. I mean, if she had gone to a Patriots game and he had said something about Tom Brady, that would approach being a joke. I mean, that dude can get you pregnant just by looking at you.

The A-Rod thing just doesn’t make sense, and only serves to demean a young lady.

Abby Adams on June 9, 2009 at 4:12 PM

Letterman Top Ten: Palin has a “slutty flight attendant look”; Update: Mocks Palin’s daughter, too

VH1 comedian Chuck Nice on Tuesday’s “Today” show: “But, Sarah Palin to the GOP, this is what I’ve got to say, she is very much like herpes, she’s not going away.”

Friday night’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” on HBO, guest, actor/comedian D.L. Hughley: “You never saw drugs or drive-byes or homeless people” in inner-cities before Reagan “cut” social programs and became “the Moses of…greedy white men.”

Seems like the RINOs were right all along. These guys sound like they are chomping at the bit to join Washington Republicans in their big tent. If only “hate mongers” like Rush Limbaugh and his talk radio buddies would just “raise the level of the conversation”. Pity.

I remember the Tea Protests and how “smart” the Left all smirked about referring to U.S. citizens, taxpayers, as “Teabaggers” then were forced by failing advertising revenue and angry ex-viewers/readers to sorta’ act a tad less enthusiastic in the use of that screed term.

Letterman seems to be clinging to a once-popular position that he has long since abandoned. Guy’s failing and failing badly.

It’s time for Letterman to retire and take his bitter ol’ a$$ back to Indianna. I understand that there is a recently retired late night host available out on the west coast. Maybe CBS could make the guy a sweetheart deal and fly him in for three shows a week.

parke on June 9, 2009 at 4:19 PM

I strongly dislike violence, but in light of the way the Palin children have been abused by the liberal HATE mongers out there, I would love for Dave to take a nice quiet hike in the woods and come across Todd Palin. Just the two of them, man to man. Or should I say worthless lump of flesh to man?

Of course, Todd Palin actually has class, and probably wouldn’t waste the skin on his knuckles on this piece of filth, but it is a good dream.

pannw on June 9, 2009 at 4:20 PM

If you’re a Nielsen Family and want to piss off Letterman, tune in Conan, even if his new gig on The Tonight Show is starting slowly.

Letterman was embittered enough over losing the show and then the ratings battle to Leno (Howard Stern was sucking up to Dave and stroking his ego by bashing Leno on the show Monday after the Palin jokes were over, much to Letterman’s enjoyment). If he can’t even beat O’Brien in the late night battle, especially given NBC’s abysmal prime-time ratings, he’s really going to bitter over the idiotic viewers’ show choices.

Letterman has gone WAY downhill in the past year, especially since he decided to get into political punditry. Now, comedians make fun of politicians all the time. But this guy doesn’t have the cojunes (sp?) to poke much fun at Obama. Hell, Obama does a better job of poking fun at himself. You guys saw that thing with Colbert in Iraq, right?

On the other hand, Jay Leno knew how to make a candidate feel comfortable on his show last year, whether it was Ron Paul or… oh, one of those other guys. That’s because Leno has more than wit; he has class.

Letterman is so low class he would charge people to watch him screw the pooch. In fact, that is how he makes his living. Here are more reasons David Letterman sucks.

Top ten reasons Letterman sucks

10. Because it’s not 1982 anymore.

9. Because you either suck or blow, and John Stewart called “blows.”

8. Because I and the other 20 million who change their channel when he comes on say so.

7. Because only Letterman laughs at his own jokes.

6. Because only drunk Puerto Ricans hang out in NY delis; everyone else gets their change and leaves.

5. Because if I wanted mean and nasty, I’d get in a bar fight and have more fun.

4. Because Norm McDonald does Letterman better.

3. Because writing these jokes isn’t my full time job, and this list is still funnier than his.

2. Because I realized the only reason I used to like him was I had him confused with Super Dave Osborne.

1. Because he can’t find anything funny about this
administration?

alliebobbitt on June 9, 2009 at 4:27 PM

Why the heck do you think Letterman was unable to beat Leno even though Leno was horrible. Letterman is an angry, bitter, awful human being who is so full of ego and hate that he cant really be funny anymore. His show has been brutal for years now.

As for class– guys like Letterman have no sense of class. When what you believe makes no sense when compared with the truth and facts, you tend to slowly go insane with rage and hatred and become a Rose ODonnell– I believe Letterman is there……

David Letterman started being unfunny years ago. No one loves political satire better than I. None of the late night folks can do it. Saturday Night Live doesn’t do it well either. There has to be an element of truth to it before it is funny. The Lefty’s are all about hate. Hate isn’t funny.

I think the people who have to do the fighting in these particular cases are not the victims of such vile fantasies, it’s the witnesses, like you and the rest of us here. Yet, as with the Prejean case, the laughter, excuses and silence of some people states exactly what kind of people they really are.

What a strange statement coming from a man that is well known for hitting on flight attendants and getting turned down everywhere he goes! LOL! True story! I know one girl that he hit on years ago and she said he does it on every flight.

Other then Alpha personality criminals, which have no political anything as felons can’t vote

Actually, Sonia Sotomayor is working to change that…

Lourdes on June 9, 2009 at 4:38 PM

And I think the Chicago area allowed felons to vote there, already. Every Presidential election cycle, the Left gets up in arms about the poor felons who really ought to be voting and then goes about trying to make that happen. Florida, it’s a “movement” there by the Left, and Sotomayor is recorded as pursuing that “cause”.

I was just noting the irony of it coming from TheOne’s kind of people

youngO on June 9, 2009 at 4:23 PM

Of course. I see.

Being pressed by that iron every day is getting very tiresome. And the starch they keep spraying on us to keep us in place is a particularly nasty touch. Isn’t it?

Letterman has sunk to a new low.

I think even Bill Maher would have enough comedic sense not to attack Palin’s 14 year old daughter in such a tasteless vile vulgar manner.

I am so disappointed in Dave. He should be ashamed. I know he is a liberal, but this is truly tasteless invective and not even remotely funny. I don’t think Dave even cares that the jokes were tasteless and vindictive, because his intention is not to entertain an audience it is to ridicule someone he disagrees with. How tolerant, inclusive, and compassionate of you Dave.

BTW Dave if you ever ridiculed my 14 year old daughter that way, I’d do some orthodontic work on that goofy gap in you front teeth you putz.

imagine if your Todd Palin and you have to hear this crap but can’t go and beat the daylights out of Letterman

jp on June 9, 2009 at 3:35 PM

If he had beat up Levi 2 years ago, it would have saved everyone a lot of trouble.

Letterman’s comedy has always been elitist.
Governor Palin’s story is anything but elitist. That’s what scares the hell out of them and why they hate her.

I’m not sure she can recover enough from the buffoonish caricature the MSM & SNL constructed, but I think she’s in better shape today than after the election.

Her best bet might be to become the female archetype of James T. Kirk. Everyone knows Spock sucked in the Big Chair.

And we all know Obama is Spock, right Newsweak?

Still wondering when someone is going to explain why flight attendents are OK for libs to use as an example of something bad with which to attack someone who’s politics they disagree with. What IS this “Slutty Flight Attendant Look” anyway? And why is it something associated with people of that profession? Last few flights I have taken had male flight attendants. I wondered about that but never even considered the term slutty as being applicable.
