Joe doesn’t know Porkulus from a hole in the ground

posted at 1:35 pm on June 9, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

God love ya, Mr. Vice President.  At least someone in this administration gives back some value, albeit strictly in terms of entertainment.  The Wise Grayhair selected by Barack Obama to give him more credibility on executive experience demonstrated the depth of his own abilities yesterday, when Joe Biden — who supposedly runs the stimulus effort for the Obama administration — showed his ignorance of where the money goes:

That new tunnel? The one NJ Transit has been touting for years? That the Federal Transit Administration made a huge commitment to on Monday?

It’s for cars.

Or so Vice President Biden apparently thinks.

Biden had just finished telling reporters on a conference call Monday that federal stimulus money might have gone out slower in the past few months than some people liked because, “We don’t end up with any major glitches.” …

“Look, this is designed, this totally new tunnel, is designed to provide for automobile traffic,” Biden said. “It’s something, as you know, up your way, that’s been in the works and people have been clamoring for for a long time.”

For the record, the tunnel is for trains, and its completion would allow for more NJ Transit trains during peak hours and “one-seat” rides into Midtown Manhattan on lines serving Bergen and Passaic counties. Currently riders on those lines must switch trains.

Now, in Biden’s defense, he probably wanted to promote the sale of cars, especially from Government Motors.  After all, Biden warned us about taking public transportation in April.  Why, those trains are nothing but epidemic amplifiers!  Why would anyone want to ride trains when they could buy perfectly nice green vehicles from GM, as soon as customers meet the asking price of $699,999.95?

Is it too much to ask to have the people in charge of spending $800 billion know the purposes of the projects they fund?  Can we have someone this ignorant in charge of that much money?  In the Obama administration — yes, we can!

Nobody messes with Joe, as Obama said in February.  That’s because no one has to in order to find some amusement.  (via Michelle)

Was Joe Biden kicked in the head as a kid?

That would explain a lot.

My doctor say’s he’s had strokes, which is why he has no “filter” and why the Obama administration picked him. They knew he would be a useful idiot who would not be able to stop implementation of the Cloward Piven Strategy to take down Capitalism.

Is that more to the point?

The whole Dem primary was about identity politics…and in the end and Af-Am man won over the white woman.

HC was also part of the establishment…we knew nothing would change with her b/c her husband had already been in the WH for most of the 90′s. BHO was [also] helped by the fact that he was an enigma.

But in the end, even for the PUMAs, it was about identity, don’t you think?

Assassination insurance. Even the KKK would take one look at Joe and think, well, maybe we’ll just vote Obama out in ’12.

DrAllecon on June 9, 2009 at 3:35 PM

Assassination insurance.

Sad…yet exactly why I’ve suspected they picked him as VP.

He serves no other purpose.

BlackCross5 on June 9, 2009 at 4:03 PM

Everyone at the top levels of this corrupt, incompetent, jaskassery of an “administration” is a complete idiot, it’s official.

We’d have to work long hours to find a more worthless bunch of inane morons, to run our government. We’d be better off with a pack of wild dogs running the country.

The voters who put these circus clown Democrats into office should be wearing bags over their heads. They have saddled our country with a burden from which she may never recover.

Joe Biden needs a personal czar.

Thanks sherry…that made my day. Hilarious.

Nobody messes with Joe, as Obama said in February.

That’s because we’re all too busy laughing at Bozo the VP to do anything else! He is is great comedy act.

Hey, I’m from Scranton (drink). Bidens’ family knows from a hole in the ground. ‘Cause they never worked in the mines, as he claims. His family was made up of coal broakers, and mine Engineers, who rarely went underground. They never toiled 10-12 hours per day and then played ball. Bidens’ Scranton days are pure BS. This is my 1st post here, and I respect the privilege. But Plugs is a dirty word in this town.

Hey, welcome to the club (Hot Air, that is).

I live in Delaware and unfortunately Biden is loved here by many. I have met him and actually had dinner with him once, but never voted for him. But a lot of people here in the First State are easily duped by a big smile and a flashy (but empty) suit.

And yes, I know where Katies restaurant used to be. You know, the place where Joe claimed during the campaign that he goes there regularly, but has been out of business since the mid-80s.

What a buffoon. If he was going to lie about it, he could have at least picked a Wilmington restuarant that’s still there. There are thousands. Proof that he doesn’t really spend time here, he’s a creature of Washington.

Is Joe Biden a Republican plant?

It would explain a lot.

jana on June 9, 2009 at 5:21 PM

I wonder: How do these people take themselves eg: when they shave in the morning? Do they think: I am American, I know my history, this is my country…

I came to this country 30 years ago (from Europe, I’m so sorry, decidedly negative contribution to the “melting pot”) and I think I love it more than these… My English fails me.

Assassination insurance? I’ll take my odds with Biden’s ineptness over Hussein.

“Cloward-Piven’s early promoters cited radical organizer Saul Alinsky as their inspiration. “Make the enemy live up to their (sic) own book of rules,” Alinsky wrote in his 1972 book Rules for Radicals. When pressed to honor every word of every law and statute, every Judaeo-Christian moral tenet, and every implicit promise of the liberal social contract, human agencies inevitably fall short. The system’s failure to “live up” to its rule book can then be used to discredit it altogether, and to replace the capitalist “rule book” with a socialist one.”

Look at Joe over there……….

…………… ain’t he a hoot?

Hey everyone………. Look at Joe!

Good Times, Good Times SMILE.

We have to remember, it doesn’t take a lot of intelligence to be a Democrat. So Joe fits right in with the typical DEM voter.

And to think they use to make fun of Dan Quayle. Ole Joe makes Quayle look like a brain surgeon.

Yeah, but it’s so funny to see Libtards defend Biden no matter what comes out of his mouth.

Dr. ZhivBlago on June 10, 2009 at 1:58 AM

Biden is the male version of Gracie Allen in Burns and Allen.

Jeff from WI on June 10, 2009 at 6:21 AM

Good thing Joe’s elevator doesn’t go to the top floor. He is such a megalomaniach if he had an IQ more than my dog, which he doesn’t, then he would be a danger. He is so into himself that he is becoming an intellect black hole, sucking up any intelligent thought around him into oblivion.
Really – Joe is a diversionary tactic for us to wonder at, while the communists do the real work of murdering the free market. God Help US!!!
