Video: Palin takes on the Beltway in upstate New York

posted at 8:53 pm on June 6, 2009 by Allahpundit

Red, red meat on an exceedingly slow news day from today’s Seward celebrations in Auburn. This was shot at a fundraiser at Seward House; earlier, 20,000 people turned out to see her lead the parade through the city. Quote:

Palin, who emerged as a leading voice in the Republican Party after Arizona Sen. John McCain picked her as his running mate in the contest against Obama, is thought to be considering a run for president in 2012. Auburn residents welcomed her to the podium at City Hall with a chant of “Run, Sarah, run!”…

Palin rode the mile-long parade route in a red convertible, getting out to walk about 100 yards while carrying small U.S. and Alaska state flags in each hand. Spectators yelled out “Welcome, Sarah” and “Thanks for coming” as Palin waved back.

Local resident Chris Stone, with his wife and three children, said he didn’t care for Palin’s politics but didn’t want to miss the chance to see her in person.

“You can see by the turnout, she’s become a personality and a historical figure,” said Stone, who voted for Obama. “I know all these people aren’t Republicans. This is a chance to see someone who has had a big impact on history.”

Dude, I think she’s running. Click the image to watch.

If that’s the case that we can only hope they she gets good advisers so she can brush up on some national issues.

It’s either that or the media will eat her alive.

I heard she’ll be in Yankees Stadium tomorrow with Giuliani. That’ll be cool. But I take Politico’s reporting with a grain of salt.

No, she’s had a positive impact. If McCain hadn’t picked her he might have won.

Seriously though has she been in Alaska at all since she ran as VP? No wonder her approval ratings have plummeted.

W-o-w… I LOVE this woman.

It’s either that or the media will eat her alive.

The State Media will attempt to have that feast regardless of who our nominee is… she’s been through the crucible and come out the other side stronger. I can hardly wait for her to absolutely annihilate The One in a debate where he keeps looking around for TOTUS to give him his answers.

Sarah walked into the valley
With the truth clutched in her hand
She was only a girl, but she knew
Someone must take a stand

There will always be a valley
Always mountains one must scale
There will always be perilous waters
Which someone must sail

Into darkness, into danger
Into storms that rip the night
Never give in, never give up
But give thanks that you can the tyrant fight

One thing is for sure, with the lunatic Norks saber rattling, she is getting a defense workout!

You know, I think she might be better with foreign policy stuff than we realize. I am at least going to be positive until the negative is confirmed.

She did run rings around Joey B. when it came to the job of V.P., and I would bet she knows czars, nationalizing banks, taking over car companies, voiding legal binding contracts at a whim, and placing most freedom loving citizens and the military members on a DHS list is ALL WAY un-Constitutional. Knowing THAT is way more important than knowing where Lichenstein is located.

There’s no disputing she was a drag on the ticket overall. Sure she energized the base during the first week or so after her pick (a temporary bump from making a VP pick is common) but her increasingly suspect interviews and media appearances led to doubts about her readiness, especially among independents. There’s some polling and analysis on it here.

And don’t forget the guys now, particularly those who have needed cosmetic surgery badly since birth, like Bill Maher, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, John Kerry, Al Franken, Michael Moore, Henry Waxman. Actually I am into “middle aged women”, but perhaps not always in the way you might think, young one.

Why was I?

Because you’re not creaming your pants for Sexy Sarah.

dcwvu on June 6, 2009 at 9:30 PM

You mean we’re not racists for not thinking Obama is Jesus, or at least the most brilliant constitutional scholar/elegant erudite Ivy Leaguer to sit in the Oval Office?

No, she’s had a positive impact. If McCain hadn’t picked her he might have won.

crr6 on June 6, 2009 at 9:05 PM

Um, no. If McCain hadn’t picked her he would’ve lost 49 states. McCain was the drag on the ticket, along with that overhyped and curiously orchestrated “financial meltdown”.

She attracts a lot of media attention will be crucial if she wants to re brand herself on the national stage.

We know that she has a book out in 2010 and we can expect her to go on a book tour and will probably be interviewed by several networks.

Do we know if she will run for reelection?

If she plans on running in 2012 I find it highly unlikely that she will run for reelection. Most folks don’t respect her one term gov stint so why bother.

Stay in Washington DC with your hand picked national advisers and work on a campaign message. Try to broaden this outsider anti Washington image that appeals to most americans.

TimeTraveler on June 6, 2009 at 9:38 PM

She’s running….

Let the media eat her up.

The American people will feast on her truth, outspokenness and courage.

To see her take on Obama will be the joy of a lifetime.

leftist heads will explode this time around. ;o)

I think Palin was a zero sum situation, she pushed away just as many people as she added.

Squid Shark on June 6, 2009 at 9:40 PM

I`m stunned,Katie Couric,ambushes Governor Sarah Palin,
interjects, then before Sarah opens her mouth, ambush Katie
fires off another idiot question, then interjects again,

and out of that interview the Lefty`s are all in an orgasmic
kerfuffle, and are mesmerized by Katie`s outstanding verbal
ambush,and

come up with one brilliant soundbite,I can see Russia from
my window,which was true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And that is all the Lefty operatives know,or need to know!

dcwvu and ccr sure do spend a lot of time trying to help destroy her….hmmm I wonder why.

CWforFreedom on June 6, 2009 at 9:42 PM

I think her second term stint doesn’t matter much, What’s important is for her to work on her flaws behind the scenes with advisers while claiming this outside of the beltway image that she wants to craft on the national level.

I been hearing that a lot of republicans want to work with her but it seems like she has “trust issues”.
