Krauthammer on Obama’s speech: “Abstract, vapid, and self-absorbed”

But … that’s so unlike Obama. I need to correct CK before I praise him, though: The One doesn’t blame the United States for colonialist attitudes towards the Middle East at the beginning of the speech. He blames “the West,” which is certainly true if the West includes Great Britain and France (and it surely does). In fact, he explicitly says further on, “Just as Muslims do not fit a crude stereotype, America is not the crude stereotype of a self-interested empire.”

That said, I’m embarrassed I missed the superb point he makes at the end about Obama’s moronic moral equivalence on women’s rights in my post earlier. It really is the most offensive part of the speech. I wonder, though, if The One feels compelled towards relativism because he’s a leftist or simply because, for all the hype, his oratory is formulaic and always includes a passage about how both sides to whatever conflict he’s addressing have legitimate grievances. That’s the real secret to his “post-partisanship”, I think: Unless absolutely forced to, he eschews taking a stand so that he can play President Above-it-all. To see just what a hack he is, have a look at this and note step 8 vis-a-vis Krauthammer’s critique. Inevitable.

Blowback

Everyone is self-interested. America is just better at succeeding in it.

Krauthammer is dead wrong on this one; Vapid only to everyone but the “Dictator of Democracy”.

Nobody beats Charles Krauthammer. The more I read or listen to him the more impressed I am. If only the Obamabots were listening too.

Obama. Speech after speech after speech, head tilted upward in “I believe my own hype” mode, looking from a teleprompter on his right and then to the left. Everytime he gives another one of these Marxist diversions, I think to myself, “The Empty Suit spoke for “x” minutes, yet said nothing”. The economy is a wreck he is making worse. He’s already started to weaken the military. I just don’t feel safe from foreign threats or have any hope for the economy to get better…

When Bush was in office, he wasn’t there to “rule”, but to lead. Not an orator by any means, I knew he was a guy that meant what he said, and didn’t make a production of it. The economy grew for 54 straight quarters. I felt that Bush and Cheney were taking care of Islamic radicals, none would be released to walk American streets.

Are you better off today than four years ago? I need hope and change for another President, one that says little and accomplishes things for the betterment of America…This Marxist Manchurian needs to be removed from office Constitutionally before any more harm is done….Impeach Obama!!!!!!! You heard it from Adam Smith first!!!!

This is true. Bush was real. Not a great communicator, but there was no doubt where his loyalties were. They were to this country and preseving them as much as possible in a global economy. Did he screw up?…hell yeah, but never by design, imo.

Maobama…not so much. Does anyone really have a firm grip on the direction he’s forcing we all go in?

If so, let me know what it is.

To hell in a breadbasket.

Worst President ever, by far. Might be the last ever, as well.

Krauthammer vies to fill the void left by the pass of Mr. William Buckley.
