Quote of the day

posted at 10:32 pm on June 2, 2009 by Allahpundit

Steven Aftergood, a security expert at the Federation of American Scientists in Washington, revealed the existence of the document Monday in Secrecy News, an electronic newsletter that he publishes on the web.

He expressed bafflement at its disclosure, calling it “a one-stop shop for information on U.S. nuclear programs.”…

The report details the locations of hundreds of nuclear sites and activities. Each page is marked across the top “HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL SAFEGUARDS SENSITIVE,” with the exception of pages that detail additional information such as site maps. In his transmittal letter, Mr. Obama said the cautionary language was a classification category of the I.A.E.A.’s inspectors.

Our government seems determined to betray us, to leave us as vulnerable to attack as possible.

The information, considered confidential but not classified, was assembled for transmission later this year to the International Atomic Energy Agency as part of a process by which the United States is opening itself up to stricter inspections in hopes that foreign countries, especially Iran and others believed to be clandestinely developing nuclear arms, will do likewise.

So we, in a stupid show to the Iranians, yield more secret nuclear information to the IAEA than Iran or NK has in all the years of IAEA condemnations, inspections, and the like. Dude.

Daggett on June 2, 2009 at 10:50 PM

It’s not just the bonehead move of publishing this. Even if we hadn’t done that, we’re apparently giving this sensitive information document to the IAEA just so they can inspect us better. In hopes that other countries like Iran will be inspired to follow our example.

Worst. President. Ever. And he’s just getting started.

Though I still hold out hope that he’ll be impeached one day for stealing from Chrysler and GM bondholders in order to give to his political sycophants in the unions.

One of the most serious disclosures appears to center on the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee, which houses the Y-12 National Security Complex, a sprawling site ringed by barbed wire and armed guards. It calls itself the nation’s Fort Knox for highly enriched uranium, a main fuel of nuclear arms.

The report lists “Tube Vault 16, East Storage Array,” as a prospective site for nuclear inspection. It said the site, in Building 9720-5, contains highly enriched uranium for “long-term storage.”

An attached map shows the exact location of Tube Vault 16 along a hallway and its orientation in relation to geographic north, although not its location in the Y-12 complex.

Tube vaults are typically cylinders embedded in concrete that prevent the accidental formation of critical masses of highly enriched uranium that could undergo bursts of nuclear fission, known as a criticality incident. According to federal reports, a typical tube vault can hold up to 44 tons of highly enriched uranium in 200 tubes. Motion detectors and television cameras typically monitor each vault.

This was the same type of plane that crashed in Queens right after 9/11. That plane hit turbulance from a 747 and the pilot over worked the rudder and the tail fell off. They found that the composite on the tail also failed, if I remember correctly. When they said Airbus, I thought about that accident. Terrible tragedy.

Yeah, they were trained to do what brought the plane down. That is wild that your Dad is a pilot. I am editing a novel right now, about a plane crash that I wrote a couple of years ago. I watched a lot of plane crash shows, internet research, but to have a pilot to discuss the finer points of flying would have been a dream. I was obsessed with plane crashes, still am. It is always a series of events, four or five, that have to go wrong in order for a crash to occur.
Say thank you to your Dad for keeping passengers safe…..you truly are in God’s and the pilot’s capable hands when you step onto a flying metal tube…as my hubby calls them.

I think either Iran or Al Qaeda are sending barry a message.

There was an arrest of an “al Qaeda” suspect in Brazil last Tuesday. There is one report that he was let go. Tri border region in Brazil is a Jihadi nexus. (Hezbollah, Hamas, AlQaeda, Iran all operate there) Now we have a plane that originated in Brazil go down. There’s a report of a Continental Express flight over Texas reporting a “missle” passing underneath it at 13,000 ft. last friday. And yesterday we happen to have a jihadi from Yemen shoot up a military recruitment office in Arkansas….pattern? coincidence?
