Now it can be told: Obama has “Muslim roots”

I guess this means the “Hussein” comment that O’Reilly smeared us with last week wasn’t so offensive after all. Ah well. Enjoy talking about it now because, come 2012, it’ll be safely verboten once again.
You can imagine Tapper writing the headline to his post, thinking, “I know Drudge is going to love this. I know it.” And sure enough. That’s the mark of a smart blogger, folks. Anyone can wring big traffic from a big story. Wringing big traffic from crap is where we separate the men from the boys.
Which reminds me. We’re overdue for an atheism post.
During a conference call in preparation for President Obama’s trip to Cairo, Egypt, where he will address the Muslim world, deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications Denis McDonough said “the President himself experienced Islam on three continents before he was able to — or before he’s been able to visit, really, the heart of the Islamic world — you know, growing up in Indonesia, having a Muslim father — obviously Muslim Americans (are) a key part of Illinois and Chicago.”…
Since the election, however, with the threat of the rumors at least somewhat abated, the White House has been increasingly forthcoming about the president’s roots. Especially when reaching out to the Muslim world.
In his April 6 address to the Turkish Parliament, President Obama referenced how many “Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim majority country. I know, because I am one of them.”
This should give U.S. diplomats a handy conversation-starter with the “death to America” crowd we’ve invited to celebrate, um, America’s birthday. Exit question: Whose Obama cultists are more devout, ours or Egypt’s? I’d say it’s a close call.

So when will Barry/Barack “reset” the al Jazeera videos from Libya. Removing online historical public addresses from Libya is censoring truth, as truth is a reflection of what is, what has been, what is or has been said. So much for open dialogue.
Obama still clings to his authoritarian pirated powers to “own” the media and the markets in his “Egyptian Sale”. Mu‘ammar al-Qaḏāfī clarified Obama for Libyans and Arabic Muslims to appreciate, as well as tutoring Obama by name on the basics of governance by power and overt deceit, but specifically on what Obama should do for and in Islam.
maverick muse on June 3, 2009 at 7:17 AM
Obama thinks of himself as the new Lincoln. Abe never let himself be pinned down on the question of religion, never joined a denomination and paid it lip service only when rhetorically fitting. My guess is that Obama is an agnostic who has no qualms about using religion for political purposes. If there were enough votes to be had he would take a side trip here taking the left hand exit. This would be a sure fire way to get rid of the Washington press corps.
Annar on June 3, 2009 at 7:19 AM
Don’t latch on to it. Its just a tactic to discredit any questions about Obama and in the end make those pumped up about this topic look like fools.
With the absolute and careful grooming of Maobamas image, does anyone really thing this type of thing would be allowed to ooze?
Anytime there is anything that he’s doing that actually is controversial..taking over a private company..having an inexperienced 31 yr.old Poli-sci student lead the dismantling and rebuilding of an American icon industry..having the DOJ refuse to pursue serious crimes and instead launch a vendetta against a popular sheriff who is simply enforcing the laws while refusing to investigate the criminal enterprise known as ACORN,..making the murder of an American soldier by an islamic terrorist go unmentioned etc. etc, you need a diversion. “Hey!..did you hear the ‘bama said he had some muslim relatives?…WE got ‘em man..we GOT ‘em”
Its a ploy that can be easily handwaved away while making the issue look petty and desperate.
Deflection/head fake.

His staff and cabinet picks are dominated by Ashkenazi’s who have dual Israel/American citizenship. Why is everyone worried President Obama extending out a hand to Muslim countries? He certainly has shown deference to Israel and it’s citizens by staffing his cabinet with them, his cabinet is far more influential with him than any Muslim government.

blatantblue on June 3, 2009 at 8:38 AM
No, you obviously do not understand Islam. When speaking directly to an Islamic community, the admission of Muslim Root’s is a declaration of Islamic faith. According to Islamic law, if your father is/was Muslim you are Muslim. To admit Muslim root’s while denying that you are a Muslim is to claim apostasy, a crime that carries the death penalty in Islam. Therefore Barrack Obama’s admission of Muslim root’s to a purely Islamic community is either the gravest of insults to Islam, or an open admission of Islamic faith. It cannot be anything else.
Now you get over it.
doriangrey on June 3, 2009 at 8:38 AM
I know if you have a Muslim father, you are a Muslim..
But dorian, you were BORN A MUSLIM in the eyes of Islam.
However, your parents perverted you into something other than a Muslim, so you are no longer one.
He lived with his father for a handful of years, his mother was not a Muslim — therefore, his mother perverted him into something other than a Muslim.

So, what you are saying is that a man who was educated in a madrassa, educated in Islamic law, is going to willingly and cheerfully tell numerous Islamic nations that he is a Muslim apostate, being fully aware that to do so is the single gravest insult he can give to Islam.
No, you sir are not only gravely mistaken, but self deceived.
doriangrey on June 3, 2009 at 8:48 AM
He spent only a short time in a Madrassa before the age of ten. He wasn’t educated in Islamic law in the sense that he’s some sheikh, imam, or anything of the sort. I doubt he remembers much at all from what he learned at 6 or 7.
There is no proof he is a Muslim. None.
He kept it secret for more than thirty years?

He was raised as a Muslim. He sporadically attended Trinity Church for 20 years in order to show he was down with the struggle. Trinity hurch is not a Christian church. It practices Black Liberation Theology. They view Christ as a Revolutionary Leader. They do not believe in His Resurrection.

No, the man has been and still is practicing Taqiyya in the fullest sense of the meaning of the concept.
doriangrey on June 3, 2009 at 8:57 AM
So, what’s the Koran’s status on people who are born Muslim and then worship as a Christian? I would think that Islam would have some harsh penalties for turning your back on Mohammed’s teachings.

Bill Bennett, Michael Medved and other self appointed spokesmen for conservatives will later today denounce the Obama Adminstration for claiming that Obama has Muslim roots. As they have frequently stated, the charge is untrue and just makes conservatives look bad to moderates and other normal Americans.
In other news, Obama announced to French TV yesterday that the US is one of the world’s largest “Muslim nations.”

So what you’re saying is, only three years matters?
No — thirty does. Because those thirty years gives us some view into his religious life.
But oh! Wait..
he spent twenty of those thirty years at a Christian denominational church — not an Islamic Masjid!
Oh, and the other ten of those years, he didn’t spend at any religious institution.
But I’m just a moron, and you’re so smart.

Though he cuddles up with muslims he himself has not demonstrated to be one.
Muslims typically are strongly anti-gay. With his recent statement this monday this seems harldy coming from someone who is muslim.
I’m surprised this statement didn’t make the news.
shick on June 3, 2009 at 9:58 AM
When Obama speaks glowingly of his encounters with Islam he mentions Chicago. The main pseudo Islamic cult existing there which he would have encountered is that of the racist Nation of Islam nowadays run by Louis Farrakhan. As ridiculous as the beliefs of the mainstream Islamic superstition may be it is definitely not racist. (Even Malcolm X eventually realized this and when he spoke out on the topic and criticized NOI founder Elijah Muhammad he was assassinated.) If nothing else this shows Barry’s ignorance with respect to the orthodox versions of Islam and could get him into trouble if he accidently associates a racist cult with either Sunni or Shi’a Islam.

Prove it. Here is what I think:
The facts:
1. Obama said we are not a Christian nation while in a Muslim nation.
2. Obama was wrong in his statement above when trying to placate the Muslim world.
3. Obama de-emphasized his Muslim heritage to get elected, and now is starting to emphasize it.
4. Obama pretty much ignored the national day of prayer.
5. Obama took down the Name of Jesus while speaking at Georgetown.
The evidence is starting to stack up that he really is a Muslim, and definitely not a Christian.

blatantblue, I hear what you’re saying. You’re afraid of us being like the leftist nutjobs. But there’s a difference here. Islam openly tells their people to lie. It’s not a “conspiracy” if we then wonder if someone with Muslim roots has been lying to us – especially when everything they’ve done to our country has been the epitome of what a Muslim would do. We’re just taking them on their own terms.
The fear of being a “conspiracy theorist” is putting us exactly where the left/Islam/all the anti-Christian powers in the world want us to be: divided and impotent. It’s like the science crowd which says that the only answer they can have is atheism – whether or not it’s a square peg and the evidence is a round hole. If there is a conspiracy and we can never say it is so, then we are doomed to be WRONG. And that’s where the powers we fight want us to be.
If every conservative in this country would just ask to see this guy’s birth certificate this whole “birther conspiracy” would be over. We would know the truth, which is all anybody has ever asked for. I personally believe we would also be rid of Obama. I believe that because I’ve seen at least 2 obvious, undeniable proofs that he posted a forgery when an eligible presidential candidate could have shown the real thing. If that makes me a nutjob, then I’d rather be an evidence-based, eyes-open, “the emperor is naked” nutjob than someone who can be “respected” by America haters.
I’ve appreciated your posts. I know we stand together. We don’t need to be afraid of each other. Nobody is crazy to simply ask to see the certifiably real version of what Obama has SAID he already showed us. To be afraid to ask to see it would be paranoia. The issue is what you’re more afraid of.

Bin Laden hates Obama, and claims the new terrorists will be more ferocious against the USA than those on 9/11.
I’m not arguing that logic. But the wannabees can be worse than the real things, intent on proving their “legitimacy” or devotion to the terror cause.
A parallel to that position was Gaddafi’s lecture to Obama not to play the black president who envies whites, being neither black nor white, as being that sort of black victim complex would mark Obama’s failure. To date, Obama has not taken Gaddafi’s advice that centered on remaining hands off on the coerced birth of a lost cause Palestinian state.
Bin Laden is not alone in disbelief over anything Obama has to say to anyone. There is no Arab leader who actually believes anything Obama says. (The West can claim monopoly on those fools.) That is not to say that all Arab leaders dislike Obama, though they will ridicule him behind his back in good form.
