I guess this means the “Hussein” comment that O’Reilly smeared us with last week wasn’t so offensive after all. Ah well. Enjoy talking about it now because, come 2012, it’ll be safely verboten once again.
You can imagine Tapper writing the headline to his post, thinking, “I know Drudge is going to love this. I know it.” And sure enough. That’s the mark of a smart blogger, folks. Anyone can wring big traffic from a big story. Wringing big traffic from crap is where we separate the men from the boys.
Which reminds me. We’re overdue for an atheism post.
During a conference call in preparation for President Obama’s trip to Cairo, Egypt, where he will address the Muslim world, deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications Denis McDonough said “the President himself experienced Islam on three continents before he was able to — or before he’s been able to visit, really, the heart of the Islamic world — you know, growing up in Indonesia, having a Muslim father — obviously Muslim Americans (are) a key part of Illinois and Chicago.”…
Since the election, however, with the threat of the rumors at least somewhat abated, the White House has been increasingly forthcoming about the president’s roots. Especially when reaching out to the Muslim world.
In his April 6 address to the Turkish Parliament, President Obama referenced how many “Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim majority country. I know, because I am one of them.”
This should give U.S. diplomats a handy conversation-starter with the “death to America” crowd we’ve invited to celebrate, um, America’s birthday. Exit question: Whose Obama cultists are more devout, ours or Egypt’s? I’d say it’s a close call.

My thoughts exactly. He attended Wright’s church for the political and social connections it provided. Plus, in my opinion, judging from the sermons in the news, that church was very Christian anyway.

Please. Step-granny knows as little about Barry as the rest of us. She never even laid eyes on him until he was in his 30’s, and it’s not as if she’s spent much time with him since then. The problem with the notion that Obama’s policies are informed by his ‘muslim roots’ is that his views are indistinguishable from radical leftists who are not muslim. His obvious disdain for all things American doesn’t seem related to any religious conviction beyond his love of self. Overweening self-esteem is not necessarily a muslim trait…it has much more in common with current American celebrity…it’s secular narcissism.

He is not visiting the “heart of the Islamic world” — that would be the Black Stone attached to the Kaaba in Mecca, the direction to which is known by every good Muslim in the world, courtesy of the United States Government.
BHO is going to Egypt, which is, if anything, one of the armpits of Islam. Then again, so is every other Islamic country except Turkey, some of whose citizens are trying to send it to armpit status too. Lots of armpits, all vying to become the armpit.

Meanwhile, Tapper still skips over a lot of the muslim history – the muslim step-father, being registered as a muslim in the schools in Indonesia (necessitating islamic training there), having to hold Indonesian citizenship to be in the schools he was in, spending his entire elementary school years studying in a muslim country as a muslim, the trip to Pah-kee-stahn under who knows what passport … Some day people won’t be scared to actually talk about the turth of the imbecile occupying the White House. We might even find enough willing to admit that he is obviously ineligible to be President (though he makes a great Precedent).
If America didn’t understand that this is the Traitor Tour The Precedent has been on, I’m sure that this little jaunt to our enemies will straighten most of them out.

Tapper is not saying he IS a Muslim. He’s pointing out the “freedom” that Obama has in talking about his “roots”. A freedom that he didn’t have during the campaign. In other words, he’s just another, same-ol-same-ol, run of the mill, hack politician, who’ll say whatever he needs to say and do whatever he needs to do to elevate himself. He’s a phony.
