Day by Day: Ed 2.0, with no hotness
posted at 8:46 am on June 1, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
My friend Chris Muir at Day by Day features me in his daily cartoon, after reading my post about Norman Eisen’s attempt to keep a broad range of people from “influencing” the process of Porkulus by essentially denying them access to the government. It also picks up on the DHS’ vague report on right-wing “extremists”, as well as the predicted attempt by the Obama administration to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine. How will they do it? Ed 2.0:

OK, OK, so I lack a certain “hotness factor,” a fact that people pointed out (repeatedly!) on Twitter. At least Ed 2.0 is hotter than Ed209. Right? Right?:

Well, maybe not …

Maybe not as hot as ED 209, but much more reliable.

Ed 209 wasn’t a Steelers fan, you win on that point alone.
Bishop on June 1, 2009 at 8:52 AM
Congrats Ed, your fifteen minutes are never ending. I do wonder about our constitutional (scholar) in chief’s view about outlawing dissent on porkulus spending projects. Perhaps he needs to review the first amendment? Perhaps he ought to talk to his leftwing buddies again about…what was their phrase?…yeah, dissent being the highest form of patriotism (or is it murder being the highest form of love, i get confused with the koolaid flowing from liberals’ mouths).
eaglewingz08 on June 1, 2009 at 8:52 AM
Michelle’s hotness factor only lasts two more years? I’m sure she’ll be glad to know that.
Welcome to 40, Michelle.

Who has more political firepower… Ed209 or Ed.M?

Wow Ed, you have truly achieved celebrity status now…. You’re practically a Rock Star… or something… ;p
doriangrey on June 1, 2009 at 8:57 AM
I think the implication is that it would take two more years to duplicate the hotness factor.

Ed 209 had machine guns and homicidal tendencies..
Ed Morrissey.. What do we REALLY know about EM anyway.. :)

Nice to see that Chris doesn’t agree with Charles Johnson’s dismissal of your position (Emphases Johnson’s)
Nothing wrong? I have trouble with the government placing restrictions on people commenting on government actions (other than military and intel ops that have to be kept secret).

All publicity is good. Ed, when are you going to be in the Limbaugh Letter and do you have to be a member to get it? It used to be sold with magazines but it’s been a long time since I have looked.

Poor Allah!
But I did laugh at the strip when I saw it last night. The idea that it’ll take an extra two years to match the hotness factor of Michelle just had me rolling on the floor.
A good way to start the last week of school.

Good news though, if you come up short in the tax compliance factor, you may be eligible for a position in Dear Leader’s administration. Of course, it will mean that you have to denounce Rush, Hannity, Glenn Beck, etc.

Speaking of baldy love … where’s she been lately? Maybe I’m on the wrong threads.

blatantblue on June 1, 2009 at 9:56 AM
The comment about Michelle Malkin sounds to realistic for a strip that is favorable to the right side. If you are an aficionado, does Kim Rosenthal appear to mirror Michelle?
Seriously, the administration does not know how to handle Michelle Malkin. This is the second time within the last couple of weeks that I have noticed left sites and even BO taking pokes at her (and ‘Hot Air’ Ed) without much response from the left let alone U.S. Michelle must have a Teflon coating, or really is to Hot to Handle.
MSGTAS on June 1, 2009 at 9:57 AM
This is more accurate than the original post, and therefore more truly dreadful.
Something that seems to have gone largely unremarked is Norman Eisen’s blithe assumption that the men choosing projects are unbiased knowers of the merit of each possible project. That’s a ridiculous assumption that could usefully be, well, ridiculed.
Kralizec on June 1, 2009 at 9:57 AM
I believe she turned 38 a few months ago, so in two years when her hotness can be replicated, she’ll be 40.
Laura in Maryland on June 1, 2009 at 10:00 AM
We’ll be able to see whether Ed in Day By Day can beat out a front page screen cap of Mary Katharine Ham for pulling in Ed Morrisey Show viewers.
eeyore on June 1, 2009 at 10:01 AM
Well, we know they already did this to Charles Johnson.
Johnson never had a hotness factor, except for his babe Sharmuta.

Congrats, and please keep us informed on the progress of Malkin 2.0
Limerick on June 1, 2009 at 10:26 AM
Two more years to match the ‘hotness factor’ of Michelle is not a comment about her age but a projection that The One’s ideas will ultimately be rejected by the voters in 2010.
Michelle is unstoppable.
And let me tell you juveniles something; to the one person who’s opinion matters, Michelle’s hotness has no expiration date.
meci on June 1, 2009 at 10:26 AM
I’d love to have my own personal Ed209 for home defense. And lawn maintenance.
Except that they’re not very good at going down stairs.
UltimateBob on June 1, 2009 at 10:27 AM
I rather doubt that. Michelle looks at least 20 years younger than her actual age. I attribute that to conservative living :). Really. Check out all the Hollywood type women who live the lib life of drugs, partying and promiscuity who need Botox and plastic surgery at 25…
I’m 36, unmarried, and trust me, I’d far rather end up with someone between 35-40 than 20-25.

Jesse Malkin is no fool. I’ve got my very own little 99 lb. Filipina gal. Getting hitched to her is the smartest thing that I ever did.

I guarantee that the level of left wing activist violence and murder is far higher than the right wing, given the eco terrorism which is the most prevalent form of domestic terrorism.
That still doesn’t justify the murder of Tiller, and unlike the ROP, I will UNEQUIVOCALLY denounce ANY act of violence and murder done in the name of the Pro-Life movement.
Tiller didn’t need to face man’s judgement, when the One Judge who (to tweak the libs and atheists who read this) outranks even the SCOTUS AND Obama would put him and all other child murdering “doctors” on trial for a lot more than their lives…
Abortion is murder, but so is murder.

That is not the way their world-view works. Always expect hypocrisy from liberals like that one and you will not be disappointed.
Shipley will work a reference, concerning that incident, into every thread on HA that he visits today. Bet on it.

Captain,
How can you take Chris’ assertion that you aren’t as hot as Michelle???
You gotta…uh, you gotta,… well, I’m not exactly sure what you gotta do, but whatever it is, it’s going to involve a lot of liposuction.
You mean the post-natal abortion?

Bite me, Shipley.
You brain-damaged lefties have no sense of proportion whatsoever. Of course, that is what happens when linear logic is beyond your capabilities.
You and your ilk care nothing for the 40 million plus unborn children that have been slaughtered in this country in the name of convenience.
You also have little or nothing to say about your precious, morally equivalent (in your twisted, diseased minds) Muslim friends who strap bombs on 10 year old’s and send them running into crowded shopping areas.
You will have nothing to say about the increase in highway deaths that will result once GM and Chrysler CEO Obama start forcing people into minuscule government-issued transportation appliances when they start encountering much larger vehicles on the highways of America.
And you will have nothing to say when medical care is denied to the elderly under you precious messiah and his hideous socialized medical care plan.
Take your sanctimonious, hypocritical BS somewheres else.
