Olby to Mancow: You’re sure this waterboarding was legit, right?

posted at 9:46 pm on May 29, 2009 by Allahpundit

He’s sure. As I asked earlier: What’s the motive if he’s lying? He’d do as much press if he said it wasn’t torture as he would if he said it was. There’s no reason to keep silent at this point except out of conviction or antipathy to Keith, which is remotely possible given his handling of nominees past.

Never mind how the Democrats treated Estrada. It’s an inconvenient truth.

The very fact that you are asking why he would do it means that you don’t know mancow at all. He is a total douchebag. When people call his show, they are instructed to compliment him when he takes their call. He is an absolute whore for publicity. He has no following among conservatives, he has tried that whole thing with Fox. It fell through horribly. So now, the publicity whore has to try the other side. He took an issue they are passionate about and “switched” his opinion.

HornetSting on May 29, 2009 at 10:12 PM

Ok…Mancow is pulling this “right and left are the same” crap…buh buy!

Sorry, there is something wrong here…

He and Olby are saying that his agent accidentally used the word ‘hoax’? Exactly how do you accidentally use the word hoax? Seems to me that has a very precise meaning. Not something you just conjure up when you are thinking of some word to describe the fact that you can’t find somebody who is qualified to administer the procedure and anybody will do. Hoax implies intent.

Whatever…I’m not buying this…too much smoke.

Straight from the guy who ADMINISTERED the fake waterboarding:

I know nothing about waterboarding. I had never done it before, I have no formal training in it, and I’ve never had it done to me. The only thing I knew was what I saw on the internet. I went to waterboarding.org and looked it up. I just did what I was told—poured the water on his face and that was it. I’m probably the last person they should have had do it. I didn’t know what I was doing.

“All it is is water in yer nose.” — Mancow

No. As an interogation technigue, preparation is essential.

You can’t just pour water down a guy’s nose and expect him to tell you a secret that he doesn’t want to tell you.

This idoicy has got to stop.

Mancow’s an honorable guy, I’m sure. But he’s at risk of becoming a shallow radio personality if he’s going to insist that, by faking a waterboarding, he underwent the equivelant of a CIA interrogation.

No professional preparation. No secret to reveal. Just water down his nose. Fail.

I learned to swim at an early age. When I was ten or so, my friends and I used to dunk each other.

Y’know… grab your friend’s head and push it underwater? Sometimes it was two on one. AND THEY WERE MERCILESS! lol

I really learned how to hold my breath at that age. Then went on to the swim team & diving team.

I guess my point is… if you can’t just shut up and hold your breath for 45-60 seconds… well…

Ugly on May 29, 2009 at 11:05 PM

2 things:

First, I find it outrageously ironic to have Keith Olbermann lecturing about what “truth” is…

Second, no one disagrees that waterboarding is unpleasant, uncomfortable, etc.; but unpleasant does not equal torture. This argument is ridiculous.

All I needed to see was one of my fellow citizen beheaded on Youtube, and I stopped caring about what was done to these animals. Frankly, waterboarding was the closest thing to a bath those murderers and savages had.

(I preemptively apologize to Bill O’Reilly for my insensitivity. -maybe we should end all our comments like that for a day or two… Haha.)

That was a time for falling;

There was no time

This is a time to take cover

Summer was blowing
all over me when you fell.
Sailors can take all the breathing

I took a trip when you needed me.
When you fell,
waters were driving me to a deep place
I closed my eyes to see your sweet face,

I slept in hell.

Angels can be so deceiving

Did you think you would be leaving me?
These are some lavender flowers

They comfort me ever since

When you fell,
waters were dancing
