You’re assuming two things. One, that an effective number of Americans would be willing to rise up if push came to shove. Two, that those who did would be armed and willing to use those arms. Sadly, both assumptions are false.

Essentially the Fed is in the same position that New York State is in relation to Limbaugh. Secretly they want him to stay so they can bleed him, publicly they say “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!”.

Stay within the law and take EVERY deduction possible. Trusts, expense deductions; spend a 1K or 2K to a Tax Attorney about long term hiding of assets. If you are a business owner or make over 250,000 annually (and several on Hot Air do) legally start offshoring you money or convert it into hard assets: Gold, Stamps, whatever you hobby is and whatever you think will grow in inflationary times.

A good book is Unintended Consequences by John Ross. The characters in that book could not believe what was happening to them either. Resistance is possible when you outnumber you enemy 5000 to 1.

I get your point and agree. However, Mike, we are being downgraded on bond issues.

Printing money won’t change that one.

And that is precisely how CA started sliding downhill, too.

Plus, the people were happy to elect the first AA president. He’s popular. But polls have consistently shown that they aren’t as happy about the spending.

I think they’ll rebel, and not just teabaggers.

Maybe I’m an optimist. But I think politicians have gotten by for years because as long as your own private life is going OK financially, it’s not that big of a deal.

It did change with this crash. Big time.

I don’t think he’s changed with the times, oddly enough. He’s about to get a reality check.

I do disagree with the general assumption (which I’ve read elsewhere) that the Obama administration has been the only one interested in seeing Cloward-Piven come to fruition.

It was the link in Michelle’s article that made me aware of the Cloward-Piven Strategy.

Suddenly the connections between Obama, ACORN, Soros and Piven and the fact that he’s deliberately crashing the economy made sense.

The MSM should investigate the bahooties out of this and plaster it all over the place, but won’t, I’m sure.

And I don’t know what to do. I suspect we will need to move to another country.

If the US were to, sadly, succumb to the leftist disease, American conservatives would end becoming something like the new Jews:

1) A people whose creed is defined by the US Constitution, and other writings of the Founders, and who subscribe to basic principles of individual liberty and private property – principles which are respected nowhere else in the world.

2) kicked out of a land that was given to them by G-d (so to speak) over which this creed was to be implemented (Divine Providence and Manifest Destiny) and which was built on the blood of patriots.

3) serving exile in a world that is unfriendly to this creed that has already showed the powerful society it bears as fruit of its following. As they carry this creed to other places and outperform those people, they will be hated and set upon by those who don’t like the competition and resent the foreign intrusion.

I just find the parallels fascinating, though this is a very rough analogy.

I’m less worried than I was in the primary, to be honest. Obama has done the exact same thing that CA did, which is to delude himself that there is money for all of his programs.

There simply isn’t.

He’ll find that out, too.

I’m not a Beck fan either, or any other kind of fan. But unless we all want to just wait for the knock on our own door in the night, some “irresponsibility” is going to have to occur. When a nation is being overwhelmed by an evil of the type we are seeing, playing nice with it is not going to come out in our favor.

I am convinced that this country will be made unrecognizable in the next four years. VAT taxes, higher income taxes, socialist health care, socialist automobile manufacturing, nationalization of the banking and insurance industries, and more. And I don’t know what to do. I suspect we will need to move to another country.

You all can talk all you want about refusing to pay taxes, and in my heart I am with you. But a tax revolt on the scale Beck is talking about might have made an impact even four years ago. Now? Public opinion would again be manipulated against all who participate, and your imprisonment will be trumpeted as good for the country.

And, yes, I am convinced the gov’t damn well would lock up that many protesters if it had to. But I said that knowing it wouldn’t have to. It’d only need to make examples of a few dozen or so, while steered public opinion does the rest. The result: most everyone else who might have considered protesting will get quiet, fast.

They are already working on a plan:

Step 1) Release the prisoners from GITMO and set them free in the US
Step 2) Lock up all the tax cheats, protesters, tea partiers, right wing gun nuts, anyone who speaks out against Obama, etc. in the former GITMO, which will be given a cute new name, like.. hmmmm… what should we call it…. a concentration camp?
