Michelle: Thanks for smearing our site, O’Reilly

posted at 4:37 pm on May 28, 2009 by Allahpundit

Sit back and marvel as the boss segues righteously from a rant about whether Obama is targeting Republican-owned Chrysler dealerships for closure into an indictment of big-media denigration of blogs, using last night’s sandbagging on the Factor as an example. The obvious questions at this hour: Will taking a shot at him on air force him to respond tonight? And how long will we have to wait for the inevitable retaliatory Jesse Waters ambush interview outside Michelle’s home?

As for Chrysler, Nate Silver dug around in HuffPo’s campaign contribution database and discovered that car dealers skew overwhelmingly GOP, so we shouldn’t be surprised that most of the shuttered Chrysler dealers are Republican donors too. That’s great — I acknowledged the possibility of it in my earlier post, just as MM does here — but the truly germane comparison is between Chrysler dealers who were torpedoed and Chrysler dealers who weren’t. We’ll see how that shakes out.

O’Reilly doesn’t own up to very many mistakes. He’ll likely ignore it and if he happens to respond he may even attack the site further.

Thank you Michelle for having great blogs. I read only three blogs, both of your’s and Boortz’s.

moonsbreath on May 28, 2009 at 5:55 PM

I suspect that Michelle will just be invited on BOR’s show. She’s been on before – they don’t seem to dislike each other.

I’ve never really seen BOR disagree to forcefully with any attractive woman. I think he has a weakness. Has anyone seen all the women he parades on that show? Where are the men? He only puts men on his show who are less attractive than he is. Jesus – the right hand seat at the desk has an impression made by Dick Morris’ arse – he’s on there every night almost.

BOR is not right – don’t endorse him as a Conservative hero – we’re going to find out something bad about him in the future – like maybe has a diaper fetish that he satisfies at Madame O’Hare’s dungeon or something. I tell you people – I can smell it on him.

HondaV65 on May 28, 2009 at 5:55 PM

As far as O’Reilly is concerned, hopefully he will admit his mistake. He did admit this afternoon on Beck that he stole the story of ACORN from him, so there is hope. However, I won’t be holding my breath.

BO is such a putz. I watch only because I refuse to watch NBC, ABC, or CBS and there’s no football and the food network only has Ace of cakes which I can’t stand.
I like his guests but my family and I want to throw things at him due to his constant interrupting and all that other stuff he does that is so annoying.
Doesn’t he realize that just because HA is a conservative site, it doesn’t mean there aren’t any trolls.

How about the Treacher Factor?

I’d watch that one!

Brian1972 on May 28, 2009 at 6:03 PM

O’Reilly may have been in a funk last night.

First, he attacks the “Far Right” of Hot Air (and another blog…). We all know that O’Reilly’s version of “Far Right” includes the non-far right National Socialists…

Then he calls John from J&K+8 that Polynesian/Indonesian guy/kid… Even Dennis Miller (who appeared to not give a rip about the stupid TLC event) knew it was the father…

He goes on to have Miller do an impression of a Stereotypical Latina (not confronting Miller), even though minutes earlier he was pissing himself over the potential loss of Hispanics… He was either being being two faced or he was very uncomfortable…

Finally he said something about spitting in a blackman’s face… AND then to emphasis his mistake, he says something along the lines of “I hate to say it, but there’s no other way of saying it.”

Oh… I forgot. After going through the whole TLC event (day 2) and talking about how America used to be, he goes on to show pictures of tweens sexting…

Upstater85 on May 28, 2009 at 6:03 PM

The theme song could be “Hot for Treacher”

I don’t feel tardy.

It is a mistake to think that all of Fox News Channel’s commenters are conservative in nature. I think BO’R is indepentdent or libertarian as is Glenn Beck. I think we are also wrong to assume that either Bill or Glenn are newscasters. They are entertainers. I think Glenn Beck’s staff is better at ferreting out facts than Bill O which makes Glenn a little closer to the newscaster brand (at least the investigative journalist brand). I saw the comment on The Factor and thought that the entry shown was from someone who was posting an opinion (like me) not a regular contributor. (Most of the conversation starters are straight from the news soooo….confusion as to why they would pick an OPINION from the blogoshere..That might be a good question for Bill. Why an opinion and not the original article posted as food for thought.) As near as I can tell, America is still (temporarily, maybe) a free country where one is entitled to an opinion, informed or not so I’m not getting the ire Bill O raised.
Keep it up Michelle.

Puritan1648 on May 28, 2009 at 6:31 PM

Exactly, he uses that bully pulpit to attack anyone who holds him to his words. That is why he hates any free thinking bloggeres – Left & Right – and their platform – the Net.

The thought of someone challenging some silly analysis he did – which is usually out of context, (like mentioning Point A and Point C but convientiently leaving out Point B) – makes his blood boil.

Look how he addressed his bad behavior with Andrea Mackris? Remember that first night and his TP Memo? He made it sound like he was being targeted by extortionists and that he was being victimized.

AprilOrit on May 28, 2009 at 7:00 PM

One of the things he is very ignorant about is oil companies. My husband and I work for one. I am responsible for accounts payable. It costs a lot of money to maintain a field, much less research and develop a new one. He is always blabbing on about profit, well when a well gets “sick” and needs a workover, the costs are unimaginable. Drilling a well, which could very well be a dry hole, runs into the millions. He needs to stick to what he knows about.

…the man’s come out the last few years as a self-fascinated low-church populist, whose politics are eerily similar to my mother’s.

Good woman that she is, she’s not exactly a Karl Rove. Brought up in FDR’s America, she thinks that if you’re rich, you must’ve hoodwinked somebody…the extend of her analysis during the 1964 presidential campaign (I think it was) was “the Republicans are for the rich, and the Democrats are for working people”…good little New Dealer, my ma….

They’d get along like a house afire, O’Reilly and my sainted old mater. Meaning: a news commentary show helmed by my 75 year old mother would be about as penetrating, incisive and (have to use the word) pithy as what O’Reilly’s been ginning out lately.

…Hannity’s another self-fascinated jug of fluff…he’s an embarrassment to conservatism, inasmuch as he relies as much as do his liberal betes noir (correct French plural?) on repeating sappy, overly-emotional bumpersticker logic over and over again…the fact that I may occasionally agree with his intent, if not his methods, does not absolve him.

I jumped ahead without reading the comments, but it wasn’t the Chrysler executives nor the bankruptcy judge who made the determination of which dealerships would close, was it? I was under the impression from what I have read so far that the decisions had been made by the WH car czar. If so, Michelle needs to make that clarification known.

And we inquiring people need to know why certain dealerships were shut down? What were the criteria?

…what does it matter…both parties are tripping over themselves to out-Wilson progressivism, being the first to pull the lever that flushes our future down the crapper….

Its funny they are discussing the question of how many dealership owners are B.O. supporters. I was out to eat with my pastor and his family on Sunday. He owns a successful marketing firm and does the advertising for dealerships all up and down the east coast. This exact question came up and he told me that only about 5% are B.O supporters. He said he was shocked when he found out that one of his big accounts was headed by a B.O supporter. He mentioned the guy’s name and both his sons (who work at his firm) expressed disbelief that the man in question could be an Obama supporter. My pastor said that the dealership executives are outraged at the Obama administration and even mentioning his name will send them off into a rant.

This is the high-hattedness that he has – that really has to go. This attitude that he is this self-appointed expert on all issues – and he is the protector extraordinaire of all the folks – is just absurd.

He is not the God appointed expert on anything.

Maybe we should all be allowed to see his books – from billoreily.com and that Factor storefront and see how much is really going to charity like he claims.

ACORN gets a boatload of taxpayer money, why shouldn’t we be able to see their books?? its OUR money, after all…does anyone audit them? no one knows where that money goes…ACORN is a criminal enterprise that should be prosecuted under RICO.

Maybe we should all be allowed to see his books – from billoreily.com and that Factor storefront and see how much is really going to charity like he claims.

Michelle did great! Thank you very much for calling on O’Reilly.

mz.josephine on May 28, 2009 at 9:20 PM

whoops, meant to say Ann Coulter also…

AprilOrit on May 28, 2009 at 7:18 PM

Thanks for the quick correction – I had nearly finished google-ing “slos” to see what kind of new-style internet slang it was!

massrighty on May 28, 2009 at 9:30 PM

My dad told me the other night that today’s Democrats are not my grandparents Democrats.

TXMomof3 on May 28, 2009 at 7:18 PM

Want more proof – read any biography of Harry S Truman. The Democrats were once the party that had a legitimate claim to being “for the working man.” Now (sadly) they’re just “for the working man’s votes and contributions.”

massrighty on May 28, 2009 at 9:33 PM

I can’t stand O’reilly but my husband likes to watch him so I read Hot Air of C4P… while he is on…

so it looks like a partisan hit job on non O supporting dealerships after all… unbelieveable

CCRWM on May 28, 2009 at 9:47 PM

Brilliant on Michelle’s part. She really does transition so seamlessly that you really have to watch it to appreciate it.

And at least he half apologized.

Esthier on May 28, 2009 at 9:50 PM

How does Michelle manage to look so good every single time?

CarolynM on May 28, 2009 at 6:08 PM

Black silk jammies.

Jaibones on May 29, 2009 at 12:48 AM

Michelle is smokin’ intellectually… and every other way.

profitsbeard on May 29, 2009 at 1:41 AM

I would NOT want to engage in debate with that woman…
Smart as a whip.

On that note, I’ve been an avid reader (and occasional poster) here at HA since the site first kicked off. I miss her “Vent” segments… I used to get them by Podcast and truly enjoyed them.

Any chance they’ll Ever come back?

nationspatriotcom on May 29, 2009 at 5:30 AM

Yes, at least he half apologized.

Like him personally or not, I have to give him credit for doing some ground breaking work, starting with the first evah media criticism of Jesse Jackson’s extortion racket. And now, along with Glenn Beck, ACORN.

petefrt on May 29, 2009 at 8:58 AM

Way to go girl. Keep up the good fight, and as always, the truth will set U.S.all free.

MSGTAS on May 29, 2009 at 10:09 AM

I say that Fox should replace the 8pm spot with a new show featuring Michelle! She believes in the truth, O’Reilly only cares about ratings. And he’s calling hotair a right-wing site? He IS clueless.
