Just had to post this comment again.

Let’s not fight the North Koreans on these missile things. We can’t win, and we will no doubt alienate the Korean vote.

The best way to ensure you won’t win is to declare that you can’t.

NoKo has no voters, only slaves, masters, and overlords. And if we can’t help our allies (including the ROK) defend themselves, we will soon find ourselves without allies.

Obama is just anti defense. There is no sane reason to cut back on missile defense except that he’s just against us having a military deterrence.

He’s playing to his base and his roots. These people are ignorant of any history that Alinsky does not want to teach. That the democracies survived the Second World War is to them either history’s greatest tragedy or history’s greatest opportunity, depending on whether they are thinking about utopia or about their ambitions to run it.

To his near-base, pouring more money down failing institutions is more urgent than either fixing those institution or ensuring that our society can survive.

Britain abandoned its allies in the years before the Second World War. When that war came, as they had ensured it would, there were only two serious allies left. The USSR joined Britain because of Hitler’s perfidy (made possible by Stalin’s stunning, atypical and naive misunderstanding of Hitler) and the USA only threw in its blood and the full lot of its treasure because of Imperial Japan’s overreach.

Our enemies will learn from history. Our disloyal opposition insists that we learn not from our mistakes, but to embrace our mistakes. (Think of the Kellog-Briand Pact.)

Every time the Libs say “X is a Good Idea” and get us to do X, we need to hold them to account for the consequences. Loudly. At length. And rationally. If we can’t get the advocate of X to question the decision, we need to get the people he convinced to question it.

Actually, Cohen had the stones to can General Wesley Clark after the Perfumed Prince almost started WW 3 during Clinton’s War of Choice.

If every NK saber-rattle produces an extra billion dollars of US missile-shield funding, you can bet that China will do whatever it can to stop the saber rattling.

The fact that Obama will have the blood on his hands will matter little to those whose blood was boiled off in the blast.

The people who should be absolutely screaming the loudest about the cut in missle defense are those occupying the most likely potential targets. Are the liberals in the large cities on the west coast that uninformed, that uncaring, or that trusting in Obama? It’s going to be a bit late to change their mind if, or when, a missle is on it’s re-entry trajectory.

They won’t even get the chance to tweet Obama expressing their dismay.

And where is the story here that Obama went to Vegas and California to do some fundraising the last couple of days? At the taxpayers expense?

I guess raising money for the DNC is more important to Barry than some silly missles.

On the Drudge Report, w/ a link from Fox News. But the main stream media wouldn’t touch that report with a ten foot pole. And only other place you’ll hear it; talk radio, where Rush led with the story this morning.

Besides, Barry took care of it remember? He told the North Koreans that they were a “threat to international peace and security,” adding: “The danger posed by North Korea’s threatening activities warrants action by the international community.” He then vowed the US would “stand up to this behaviour”.

Oooooooo, bet they are scared now.

Give Barry a break. He can’t focus on North Korea, or Iran, when we have bible thumping, gun owning, tax protesting, anti-abortion, Limbaugh listening, conservative veterans out there! He can only focus on one enemy at a time!

The purpose of an all out attack is to hit the enemy so hard that he is incapable of generating a counter strike. To do this his command and control has to be completely destroyed and all of his missile sites need to be destroyed. Not some, not degraded, but all, and destroyed.

Even if a missile defense is only capable of knocking down 10% of the incoming missiles, the enemy has no way of telling in advance, which missiles will be knocked down.

As a result he has to target at least two missiles to every target. Doubling the number of missiles he has to fire.

If a defense can knock down half the missiles fired, then he has to send something like 3 or 4 missiles to every target.
