Couric, Gibson and the rest revealed their lefty allegiances in stark relief in 2008. The inevitable excesses of the Democrats may eventually result in a backlash against the liberal establishment and their media handmaidens. In this sense, Couric may have, eventually saved the country, but the jury is still out on that. Meanwhile, since Palin didn’t sink McCain’s ship, Couric is just a reason for false bravado at this point.

Actually, if you examine this from Thomas’ view, it is sort of accurate. But you need to understand that the country she perceives was saved was not the USA. Helen hates the USA and doubtless feels that anything that stopped another conservative term in DC would help save the country she cares about. That one is the one she feels is currently occupied by Israel.

With these people you cannot assume that the words they use mean the same thing those words mean to you. Witness Obama standing in the National Archives this week saying that he intends to protect the bill of rights, while his administration is systematically shredding the 10th and other amendments. They think we are all stupid, and that we will accept the words as valid, because they sound like our words. Unfortunately, it appears over half of our friends and neighbors are that stupid; since Obama won despite what everyone knew him to be.
