Iran’s nuclear weapons program, uncovered by Democrats; Update: Iran tests new missile

If Democrats make the case, it must be true:
In testimony to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that was largely ignored by the media, the legendary Manhattan District Attorney [Robert Morgenthau] opened a window on how Iran is secretly obtaining the ingredients for an arsenal of mass destruction. Mr. Morgenthau, whose recent cases have exposed illicit Iranian finance and procurement networks, has discovered what he calls “Iran’s shopping list for materials related to weapons of mass destruction.” They add up to “literally thousands of records.”
The list included 400 sophisticated gyroscopes and 600 accelerometers, necessary for developing accurate long-range missiles. But wait, there’s more:
Mr. Morgenthau also noted that the material shipped by LIMMT “included 15,000 kilograms of a specialized aluminum alloy used almost exclusively in long-range missile production; 1,700 kilograms of graphite cylinders used for banned electrical discharge machines which are used in converting uranium; more than 30,000 kilograms of tungsten-copper plates; 200 pieces of tungsten-copper alloy hollow cylinders, all used for missiles; 19,000 kilograms of tungsten metal powder, and 24,500 kilograms of maraging steel rods . . . especially hardened steel suitable for long-range missiles.”
Lest anyone think that these materials may have innocent uses, Mr. Morgenthau added that “we have consulted with top experts in the field from MIT and from private industry and from the CIA… Frankly, some of the people we’ve consulted are shocked by the sophistication of the equipment they’re buying.”
Iran was also buying a rare metal used in the IEDs killing US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Furthermore, a staff report for the Foreign Relations Committee (chaired by the not-so-right-wing John F. Kerry), notes that Iran “could produce enough weapons-grade material for a bomb within six months.”
Given the record compiled by his fellow Democrats, it seems rather odd that Pres. Obama plans on spending six months assessing whether his diplomatic effort is “moving in the right direction.” After all, Obama recently reaffirmed that he would like a nuke-free world and acknowledges that Iran’s intransigence threatens to set off a Mideast arms race.
As John Hannah recounted in yesterday’s Washington Post, “[s]uccessful denuclearization of hostile states is most likely to occur as a result of regime change, coercive diplomacy or military action, not U.S. pledges of mutual respect.” As someone familiar with the Chicago Way, Obama should understand that you can get further with a kind word and a gun than you can with just a kind word.
The president is trying to vote “present” on this issue, but he looks to be missing in inaction.
Update (AP): Iran’s answer to The One’s outreach? A new missile test, of course, designed to show how much suffering they’re capable of inflicting on Israel — among other places:
Iran says the missiles have a range of almost 1,250 miles (2,000 kilometers). If tthat’s accurate, the missile brings Moscow, Athens and southern Italy within striking distance from Iran, according to Jane’s Information Group, which provides information on defense issues.

We have traitors throughout all three branches of government working to make our democratic republic fall. Externally, very REAL threats to life in this country and elsewhere are either appeased or ignored. The Iranian nutjobs are working at a feverish pace to build NUCLEAR WEAPONS and LAUNCH them. He has absolutely no clue what he is doing. None at all. He is the liberals’ “Trophy President” and that’s it.
Yes, I know all presidents rely on a huge staff, but he doesn’t even have the general leadership experience that would allow him to use his advisors the best way. Who the hell knows what kind of contradictory info he is being fed.
Then, when you look at the slimeballs that he has brought in, and you look at the different czar-like positions, redundant positions, overlapping positions with the White House, it is a recipe for a disaster.
Of course we were told none of this matters because he has good judgement. And no one questioned it.
This guy has ZERO positive qualities that help him to be POTUS, quite a few negative qualities, but somehow his good judgement makes it okay…
Looking at his pre-POTUS days and his brief stint as POTUS thus far, I can say that Obama has incredibly poor judgement. What does that say about the rest of him?

Personal theory: I think Ezekiel 38 is actually one of the very few prophecies about the gathering of powers against Israel at the end of the Millenium, not the end of this age. There are lots of similarities but there are important differences. Israel will be unwalled and safe then, and more easily surprised. But it doesn’t matter, I’ll get the book anyway, thanks! Also,remember the meetings with the leaders of Afghanistan and Pakistan and how they were touted as such successes.
Well we already know that the Pakistani army is embellishing it’s success in SWAT and the Taliban continue to own the roads and attack at will.
Obama bragged about sending hundreds of millions to train the Pakistani army that is more concerned with “appearing” that they are defeating the Taliban than actually doing it.
They also apparently don’t need any outside training,just more money and weapons:

Our money is going straight to the Taliban from sympathetic
Taliban loyalist that are in the government and army.
They will only “defeat” the Taliban in the press while behind the scenes work out surrender agreements that allow the Taliban to receive money,arms,and more power each time.
“Smart power” indeed.

The Obamessiah had better step up the pace and do some fast talking to Iran. The bogus Roadmap to Peace won’t mean much when the map represents a radioactive wasteland.
If he’s going to pull a miracle out of his a$$ now would be the time.

has it worked against Hezbollah missles and Hamas missles. Why couldn’t Iran just launch from Lebanon? Besides the threat of using a nuke is just as useful to destroy israel than ever actually using it.
