After decades of movies showing the CIA or other intel agencies as evil-ruthless-scheming-shadowy White men who are always tapping your phone and grabbing you off the street, a significant sector of the population will believe ANYTHING negative said about clandestine agencies

I agree that Cheney has won this, and Pelosi’s heavy-handed style unleashed since the election is not going over well at all. There are growing rumblings that make the Republican house complaints appear very legitimate.

Moreover, Cheney is still having quite a lot of fun with this. She definitely isn’t.

It’s true that folks on the Left have hated the CIA for decades (see Phillip Agee), but then you all suddenly fell in love with The Company when you thought that an agent had been outed by the evil Bushco.
