I doubt “moral equivalent” has anything to do with it.

For some reason there are some people that hate other people because their skin color is different than theirs. This hate is deep, sincere and as real as a heart attack in progress.

Similarly, there are people like Helen Thomas that hate people of a specific ethnic/religious background. Namely, Jews.

In her estimation, Ahmadinejad’s assertion that the Holocaust is a myth and that Israel will be wiped off of the face of the Earth are both accurate. Letting Iran have the bomb is a means to an end for people like her and Ahmadinejad. (Also known as a Final Solution).
