Even Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins have their gods. They worship science and they worship self, among other things. There are no true atheists. There are just those who believe in the one true Christian God, and those who worship false idols.

And who is really a Christian in a “biblical sense” (there are dozens of versions of the bible and hundreds of different type of Christians) is relative to the type of bible and the one interpreting it.

1) Fred Phelps is about as much a Christian as Ayahtollah Komenini. People can say all sorts of idiotic things, but that doesn’t change the fact that they’re mentally unstable. Just because someone says they’re a phone book doesn’t make it credible.

2) Islam is in no way shape or form an “Abrahamic” religion. Where on earth did you go to school? I’ve studied Old Testament history for the past 20 years and have never heard anything so ignorant in my life.

3) Dozens of “versions” of the Bible, meaning what? The Bible was written primarily in Hebrew and Greek, all english translations (not paraphrases) are based on the original scriptures. Differing versions of a translation mean nothing. It’s just differing ways of translating certain words. The meaning does not change.

Christopher Hitchens got his clock cleaned by William Lane Craig a month ago, read the transcript over at Biola’s website. There are hundreds of solid Christian apologetic websites all over the internet, and many of them take on the same old tired atheist drivel over and over. Same argument, but different procedure in stating the argument.

1. And because you say YOUR a Christian doesn’t make it so either. It’s relative.

2. Islam is an Abrahamic religion. Because that upsets you doesn’t mean it isn’t true. Christianity, Judiasm, and Islam (additionally Bahai and Samaritan to some)are all Abrahamic religions.

3. Translations = Version(Ala “King James Version. New International Version. American Standard Version). Some saying the KJV is the most pure of the message and Jehovah’s Witness version being totally corrupt.

I can’t argue for Atheist in totality because I am a Christian. But it is not unfathomable to me that people exist that will knowingly reject Christ and the Word.

So yesterday there was a story on the Los Angeles local news about “Octomom” (as if we haven’t all had enough). The hospital where she gave birth is facing a $250,000 fine (from a California medical oversight organization, I believe) because staff at the hospital breached the privacy of her medical records.
I gotta’ believe Miss California has a case for a lawsuit against the pageant for releasing information about her breast augmentation.

Many of them understand it completely, they just reject it. Just in the same way I understand Islam very much so and completely reject it. And if Islams most loud mouthed followers weren’t people who blow up children and cut people’s heads off and it was truly a religion of “peace” I’d still reject it. Because it is false.

Christopher Hitchens is a very smart man. He knows all about Christianity but choose to reject it based on the fact he THINKS it is false.

Which is all I was saying, actually. Yes, women shouldn’t dress in such a way as to tell a man her body’s available, as that will tempt a man to lust (going off both the verses where Paul talks about refraining even from activity that isn’t otherwise sinful, except that it tempts others, and verses that deal with lust); however, I do think there’s a legitimate argument to be made about whether or not that is her intention.

Christianity isn’t legalistic. My interpretation of the Sermon on the Mount is that your heart is most important in deciding whether you’ve sinned, not your outward actions. If you do the right thing for the wrong reason, it’s still a sin. I believe the opposite is also true, but only you and God can know the reason you do a certain thing.

Of course, if we were all rational, gay marriage would not be on the top ten list of important issue, whether we oppose it or support it.

Maher is no reason to become a self-hating atheist Allah. On the other side of the religion coin is Fred Phelps and Osama Bin Laden. We’re still in better company.

I say, biblical sense, because there are many who claim to be Christians, but are not. The Bible lays out the requirements for being a child of the Living God, not man.

Twist not the Scripture lest you be like Satan. That passage does not mean what you think it means. If it did, you yourself would be guilty for judging those to whom you judged needed to hear from that passage of Scripture.

Matthew 7:1-3 speaks against hypocritical and self-righteous judging, not judging itself. In fact, God commands his people to judge with righteousness.

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
