The obligatory “Miss California to guest host Fox & Friends” post
posted at 9:58 pm on May 14, 2009 by Allahpundit
Perfectly predictable, so much so that I almost called it a few weeks ago. And yet, I’m torn. Pro: She’s so hot, she’s capable of turning straight women gay. The more airtime, the merrier. Con: Like I said when defending her from Shuster’s vomit attack, the reason she’s been sympathetic through all this is that she came by it innocently, simply giving her opinion in answer to a question. Now that she’s parlaying it into a stuntcasting tryout on the conservative network of choice, a bit of that is gone. It’s not unlike what happened with Joe the Plumber or even the tea parties, which also started unassumingly and got snapped up by FNC once the buzz got big enough. Then again, we’re talking about someone here who gets paid to model underwear. Kind of hard to be a “sellout” under the circumstances.
Here’s her chat with Hannity from two nights ago; no matter how softball her interviews end up being on “Fox & Friends,” they can’t possibly be softer than this. If you can’t be bothered, at least watch the very end of the second clip where they talk about feminists going AWOL and she hint-hints to Sean that maybe she’ll work for Fox someday. I confess, I don’t get the distinction she draws earlier between posing for Victoria’s Secret but absolutely, positively not posing for Playboy — the difference is literally a few inches of fabric — but we’ll take what we can get. As for the campaign to humiliate her, yes, of course it’s still going on. The “Fox & Friends” gig even figures into it.

Nancy got PWNed today and Prejean is running all the way to the bank. Maybe there is some Justice during the reign of Obama!
Upstater85 on May 14, 2009 at 10:02 PM
…which I think says something very strong about the situation of the conservative movement in terms of publicity. We’re so hungry, whatever morsel we manage to get our hands on is wolfed down so fast, that it just makes things worse. You could argue that it happened to Palin, as well. Our side literally fell in love with her, hard…while the other side moved immediately to destroy her. Part of the 24-hour media culture, sadly…and it’s not likely to change anytime soon.

You must never have hit a home run with a woman; a few inches of fabric makes all the difference in the world.
Bishop on May 14, 2009 at 10:04 PM
1. State your (conservative) opinion.
2. Get media (blog) attention.
3. Guest “host” Fox and Friends.
This will happen forever.

Meggy could fill us all in on what a few more inches of fabric can cover up…

Took ya long enough…
This was this morning’s news.
If this is more than a one-time shot, think I’ll be watching more of FoxNews in the morning….can’t miss Meghan Kelly…and now Carrie Prejean?
There are indeed good things in life to look forward to each morning.
That was below the belt…/s
Then again, you do raise a point…what’s below the belt. :-)

Miss California deserves this and the other good things that come her way after the h-ll the gay mafia has put her through the past few weeks. Good for her.

The attacks have been vicious and unwarranted from the beginning. Nothing she says or does will change or diminish that.
If anything and everything she says or does in public to advance her career is going to be used as justification for the past and ongoing attacks against her, this simply encourages political assault.
What is she supposed to do? Take their harassment silently and in seclusion? For how many months or years should she put her career and life on hold because she was attacked in this manner? Is that what all victims of such treatment should do? No. Never.
Stand up and speak. Be all you can be, Carrie.
Loxodonta on May 14, 2009 at 10:11 PM
No downside to hiring her. Zero.

I was just thinking to myself this morning, what FoxNews needs is more beautiful blonds. Life hasn’t been the same since Lori, “Bunker Buster” Dhue left the scene.

And good for everyone, else too. The signal sent that standing up for your values will be supported and rewarded is a good one. We’ve seen far too many people shut down by intimidation and harassment.

sven10077 on May 14, 2009 at 10:16 PM
Well, she certainly isn’t backing down, you have to give her that.
I can’t decide if she’s milking her 15 minutes of fame for all she can (and there’s absolutely NOTHING wrong with that)…
…or she’s thumbing her nose at all those misogynist lefties who want her to shut up and go back into the kitchen.
Religious_Zealot on May 14, 2009 at 10:16 PM
She quit because she could not work for an organzition that had no respect for contract law or something.

The funny thing is to think about the advice of the also-rans (including the winner) that went something like, “She should’ve said the proper thing.” Heh.

Or the other option: that Prejean actually has more than a few marbles in her head and can elucidate an opinion beyond “Oh ma GAWD” in her best Valley Girl voice.
No, that can’t be it, as the lefty pantloads would have everyone believe, Ms. Prejean is a typical dopey blond making her way through life on a great smile and big boobs. Give the woman a chance at least.
Bishop on May 14, 2009 at 10:23 PM
Her voice needs a little work. She has a nice delivery and she’s very composed. With some experience she will make a good media personality: actress, model or reporter.
Ted Torgerson on May 14, 2009 at 10:24 PM

Her looks can only get her so far. She actually has to be somewhat entertaining to have a huge audience on television.
terryannonline on May 14, 2009 at 10:31 PM
Cool photo here for future Prejean stories. She’s so beautiful and identifiable that all one needs to see is that classic silhouette.
Yeah, and I have no clue who won the stupid contest. Carolina something or other

Jaibones on May 14, 2009 at 10:34 PM
She’s in college so she is no dummy. However, it is not an Ivy League University, like Obama and AP attended. Therefore, she must be an idiot and be put down all the time.
Blake on May 14, 2009 at 10:34 PM
Dunno. The MSNBC crowd, for the most part, have neither. But of course they don’t have a huge audience, either.
ddrintn on May 14, 2009 at 10:34 PM
They are confused. Do they defend the liberal dim bulb Pelosi, or go with Axelrod’s boy and let her flap in the wind. I say Axelrod’s boy will win this one.
SouthernGent on May 14, 2009 at 10:35 PM
First, MSNBC doesn’t get good ratings. Secondly, some of the folks at MSNBC are so crazy that is what makes them entertaining.

She modeled for Victoria’s Secret! Don’t you get it, engaging in such activity means she’s an utter dolt, don’t ask me why, it just does. Brains and beauty are not accepted by nature, or whatever.
Bishop on May 14, 2009 at 10:42 PM
Awww…. thanks. But I still need a personality. I’m somewhat funny so that helps… a little.
terryannonline on May 14, 2009 at 10:45 PM
Not really. She didn’t start the whole thing. The judge started it. Because of her honest answer, she became the latest target for smear, with the message going out that anyone speaking the same opinion she did will get the same smear treatment. But it backfired! Thanks the judge and the subsequent attempts to smear, she is cashing in! The message is now – you don’t have to be intimidated into silence. And that she used Obama as a sheild is gotta be causing some problems among the wingnuts.
pearson on May 14, 2009 at 10:46 PM
I’m sure there are lots of well educated conservative women who have worked their entire careers in journalism who are wishing they would be so lucky to get a break like this… and I’m right there with them. She’s nice to look at, but that’s not why I watch the news.
