Video: Hey, how about another MSNBC segment dumping on Palin’s book?

posted at 9:45 pm on May 13, 2009 by Allahpundit

Wasn’t it Edward R. Murrow who pioneered the journalistic technique of mocking the subject of a news segment by inventing phony, derisive titles for their memoirs? I’m pretty sure he came up with that during his coverage of the Blitz.

Boy, Geraghty wasn’t kidding about this network’s Palin-hate, was he? Note the assertion that Fox News is in the tank for Sarahcuda, too. I guess Carl Cameron didn’t get the memo.

This probably replaced the segment where Keith was supporting Obama for holding fast on releasing those Abu Ghirab abuse photos.

jon1979 on May 13, 2009 at 9:52 PM

From the Geraghty link cited:

They just did a segment on Sarah Palin’s book deal that could be measured in milliseconds, in which Courtney Hazlett, who is apparently MSNBC’s “entertainment columnist,” was asked whether she thought Palin’s memoir will be a success. She answered no, but said moments later that “it might sell a lot of copies.”

ROFL…that’s a classic right there. The idiotic mind of the lefty. But when you’re at MSNBC I guess you have to measure success in something other than audience share.

ddrintn on May 13, 2009 at 9:52 PM

So predictable. As I said last night, the reviews are already written. It sucks and she’s a fool. Now all they have to do is wait for the book to actually be written and published.

TheBigOldDog on May 13, 2009 at 9:52 PM

So,the lefty talk shows are already in Search and Destroy

But,I’m perplexed, the Liberal Operatives are attacking the book, and the book isn’t even near a draft yet!

Why do Liberals,

joey24007 on May 13, 2009 at 10:01 PM

To counter the stupidity. To show there is an organized effort by the left to demonize any conservative.

To Emasculate Racheal Maddow and expose the high level of estrogen in Chris Mathews blood.

To show that a mind is a terrible thing to waste and that Keith Olbermann has no clue on what a mind is and why his head is full of waste.

ddrintn on May 13, 2009 at 10:04 PM

I love the way the tool of the two biggest corporations of the 90s and among the biggest today — Microsoft and General Electric — can view Fox as being “too big.” MSNBC clearly saw Fox News as making big bucks as a (perceived) self-parody of the right and figured a self-parody of the left was the way they could finally get out of the red.

ThePrez on May 13, 2009 at 10:04 PM

So Olbermann, Matthews and friends appear to be consumed with hate and envy simply because more people watch FOX and publishers are willing to pay conservatives to write books.

Of course the lefties are too smart to figure out how to get people to publish their books, buy their books or watch them snivel and whine on TV.

joey24007 on May 13, 2009 at 10:05 PM

Well to be honest it serves a purpose to enrage our side. If we ignore or back down from the left’s insanity they win.

And they know that. That is why the onslaught has continued long after Obama won the White House.

The left isnt content on winning an election. They want the complete and utter control of the whole entire message and government.

The danger of an uncontroled ideology can be seen in too many times to end in tragedy for the human race. The lefties just dont understand that they are far more likely to embrace a totalitarian belief than anyone on the right is. Because of their facination with government and control of the media and education.

Was there actually any news in that clip? I watched it, but all I heard was 5 1/2 minutes of smartass remarks that weren’t even funny.

Say what you will about O’Reilly or Hannity, but even when they have a guest on to parrot their own right-wing views, they discuss a relevant topic and do it in a civil manner.

BSNBC could at least be counted on in the past for news with a left-wing slant. Nowadays however, Shyster, Olberskank, and Fat Bastard Matthews have been reduced to acting like a bunch of junior high kids making wisecracks in the locker room.

From SarahPAC….

May 13, 2009

The liberal onslaught of malicious attacks against Carrie Prejean for expressing her opinion is despicable.

Carrie and I spoke soon after the attacks started; I can relate as a liberal target myself. What I find so remarkable is that these politically-motivated attacks fail to show that what Carrie and I believe is also what President Obama and Secretary Clinton believe – marriage is between a man and a woman.

I applaud Donald Trump for standing with Carrie during this time. And I respect Carrie for standing strong and staying true to herself, and for not letting those who disagree with her deny her protection under the nation’s First Amendment Rights.

Our Constitution protects us all – not just those who agree with the far left.

Jindal gives the worst speech I’ve ever seen as a rebuttal to Obama. Then he has no reason that’s cogent for refusing the stimulus bill. Ditto for about 3 other men.

Why the reluctance to do the obvious? Back the women?

This sort of ridicule of a decent woman from a jackass that could not leave his bathtub for a week. Also, according to e-mails from ex-girlfriends in the possession of Mark Levin, Olby is a pervert hung like a hamster. Sarah would kick his ass in a heartbeat. Todd would not need to even worry about her.

NYPost October 9, 2006 — A BROWN-haired beauty who claims she had an unsatisfying one-night stand with Keith Olbermann is getting her sweet revenge – she’s launched a blog to warn other women about the acerbic MSNBC commentator’s boorish bedroom habits.

A 30-something office worker of Caribbean descent, KarmaBites1 said she struck up an e-mail friendship with Olbermann, whom she admired, and agreed to fly to New York to meet him last May. She says he came to her hotel room and opened a bottle of Merlot which he “spilled all over.” Then, when “sexual activity began [in] less than an hour,” Olbermann had difficulty.I pretended he knew what he was doing,” the embittered blogger writes. “I adored the guy. I didn’t want him to think he was a dud in bed,” so she faked experiencing ecstasy.

Next, he piled on excuses as to why he had to leave. “He told me he’s an insomniac and that it’s hard for him not to sleep in his own bed. He also mentioned he hadn’t had ‘company’ in a while. [He said] he had an early meeting with the Yankees [and] he might be allergic to the pillows in the hotel bed.”

Maybe this is a window into this dipstick’s problem with strong beautiful ladies. Add in Conservative Christian Republican elected to office, and moving up, that explains alot no?
