Maybe I am the religious zealot, but I take my faith seriously, and in turn, expect those who claim to share it to do the same. It’s that whole bringing scandal thing I keep trying to shield my children from and that gets more and more difficult to do.

For what it’s worth, I think you are absolutely right. We can applaud Carrie for standing up to political correctness and standing for her rights to speak and even for thanking God publically and declaring her Christianity. But so many Christians actresses, models and others have done things which are detrimental to their ability to be role models as Christians. They somehow get “seduced” by the Hollywood culture to think it’s OK to be in a position where their witness is compromised. (Of course, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” So if we restrict everyone who has sinned from active Christian leadership, no one will be qualified.) I’m all for Carrie and hope that she becomes a real Christian role model. Perhaps this incident will help her to do so. I pray so.

On the other hand, I despise militant homosexuality because it does involve and affect me. The bastards seem to be intent on radically reforming the very basics of society – family and moral beliefs – so that they will be not merely tolerated, but instead lauded and approved. At the same time, those of us who differ in opinion are castigated as bigots and “homophobes” (an amusing term that stretches to imply that we were actually afraid of them instead of indifferent, amused, or determined to resist the imposition of a culture which will be radically intolerant of us.)

The homosexual Kulturekampf has changed my opinion, all right, but not in the way that may have been desired. I now view homosexuals not people to be tolerated despite their different views and mores, but instead as intolerant social revolutionaries allied with organized crime who intend to create a society in which I will have neither a place nor a voice. And that, rather than their spare-time private recreational practices, is what I find to be intolerable about homosexuals.

However, I think many of you are doing with her what Palin supporters are accused of; refusing to admit there is anything at all wrong with what she has done.

You, of course, are missing the point.

First off, secularly speaking (which is the view point of the left), she didn’t do ANYTHING ‘wrong.’

Whether she committed any ‘sins’ is open to discussion and depends on who you believe about the photos. Miss Prejean has stated that some of the pictures where photoshopped (and looked it!) and others were outtakes from a prior photo shoot that weren’t supposed to be released to the public.

But again, the REAL point has nothing to do with her sins.

As a human being, she of course has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (just like you and I).

But we need to very much remember that THAT isn’t the point.

First off, the left doesn’t really care or knows about real Christian values. Thus even ENTERING into a discussion about it is to lose the argument. Never discuss a topic on your enemies terms.

Second, we should be laughing our heads off at the left trying to convince us to be morally outraged. As has been said, these are the same people that think that it’s A-OK to take a fetus that somehow survived an abortion and just leave it in a trashcan to die. I’m certainly not going to allow them to discuss morality with me until they understand that killing children is wrong.

Third, the issue was and continues to be her view on gay marriage and the left’s display of “tolerance” and “diversity.”

Or, to put it another way:

As I said earlier, I do believe a theological argument can be made that it is a sin to pose provocatively for the public. Now, it should be noted that such a conversation is full of annoying gray areas (where do you draw the line between normal, acceptable clothing and clothing that provokes feelings of lust?)

However, I’m not going to have that discussion now because that’s EXACTLY the kind and type of discussion the left WANTS us to have. The point being that it distracts us from the REAL issues going on here.

I’m sorry, but are you actually reading my posts? Let me repeat myself.

And to be clear, as I said before, I’m glad they didn’t take her title. I’m glad she stood up to the PC/homosexual mafia. There is hope for her yet. I just hope she realizes the pictures were not a good thing; that she doesn’t need that to be successful; that she’s too good for that sleazy crap, and doesn’t do it any more.

As to forgiveness, I am all for it. Not that she needs mine, but I haven’t seen where she has admitted to doing anything that needs forgiveness. Granted, I don’t follow every single link to stories about her (particulary since I don’t really want to see anymore sleazy pics), so maybe she has, but did she not blame the wind? If that is something made up, I am happy to apologize. However, I’ve seen the pictures. There really is only one way to explain them. Has she? If so, I’d like to know where, because believe it or not, I want to support her.

You know, if you are a zealot, I have to wonder to what religion you ascribe if you think those pictures in any way make this woman a role model for young Christian girls.

Sometimes the truth hurts. She made a huge mistake making those pictures, made it worse by claiming it was something it wasn’t. She has fed right into the liberals hands by appearing to be a hypocrite, and I’m sorry if you don’t like hearing it, but she does. Devout Christian women do NOT pose nude. They also own up to their mistakes and show a little repentance rather than blaming the wind.

But go on and call me a Sorros plant. You make yourself an idiot when you attack the truth, even if all the other devout conservatives on the site agree with you.

Thumbs up for Carrie Perjean, who shouldn’t have lost ANYTHING whatsoever over some misguided gay (_O_) with an agenda. My disappointment, and a BIG thumbs down to Donald Trump for playing the middle of the road, by inviting gay freak Perez Hilton back again, as a judge.

But, I do admire his stand to fly his big U.S. flag down in Florida.

I’ve been trying to remember when individual Citizens have been publicly smeared and attacked so violently for their beliefs and not involving things taken as racial slurs. Until Joe the Plumber last year, I can’t think of any?

As for lying about the pictures, she has something in common with Dr. Laura now.
