It’s the key point of this debate but proponents of gay marriage opt to pretend it doesn’t exist and scream “bigot” at those who point out the obvious. If homosexual unions are sanctioned as fully equal to heterosexual marriage then Family Law changes from being based on a mother and a father to parent A + parent C – parent B.

So getting bated into this secularism versus Christianity canard is merely a smoke screen.

No matter what sort of pictures she may have posed for, I’d fail to see how it negates her opinion about marriage.

Bingo. It’s just another case of the lefts tactic of calling anyone who stands up to them as a hypocrite. For example, anyone who takes a stand against animal abuse but eats beef is a hypocrite.

You can liken non-Christians (most liberals fit this bill) to the prodigal pig in the book of Peter. They try to walk the straight and narrow but usually end up right back in the pig sty of sin where they can wallow away and are most comfortable.

It is probably more proper in the eyes of the Lord to keep your body covered, so as to remove temptation from your fellow man. But that’s a best practice, just as vows of silence help you come closer to God but aren’t an everyday practice.

God does not encourage people to be ashamed of their bodies. We’re encouraged to celebrate all of God’s wondrous works, including the human body.

As I said earlier, I do believe a theological argument can be made that it is a sin to pose provocatively for the public. Now, it should be noted that such a conversation is full of annoying gray areas (where do you draw the line between normal, acceptable clothing and clothing that provokes feelings of lust?)

However, I’m not going to have that discussion now because that’s EXACTLY the kind and type of discussion the left WANTS us to have. The point being that it distracts us from the REAL issues going on here.

So when the left accuses Miss Prejean of being a sinner, the proper response is, without conceding the particulars, to say “Of COURSE she’s a sinner. Everyone is a sinner.”

When the left accuses Miss Prejean of being a hypocrite, the proper response is:
“Well, first off, she’s not being hypocritical in her stance on gay marriage because she isn’t married to another woman. That said, I’m sure she’s a hypocrite in other parts of her life because we’re ALL hypocrites in one way, shape or form. Kind of like the co-executive director of Miss California who is having the vapors over these photographs despite the fact that she is a Playboy Bunny. And sort of like Perez “Copyright? What’s a copyright” Hilton being so concerned all of a sudden about “contractual obligations.”"

These are all distractions from the REAL point -

- that a young woman was asked a question that shouldn’t have been asked by a judge who shouldn’t have been a judge and answered honestly.

Because of that, the peace loving, tolerance preaching, diversity worshiping left has tried to destroy her life because she didn’t have the “correct” belief.

I have no problem with modeling lingerie, but she has gone way over the line this Christian believes is within the realm of decency with those other pictures. Nudie pics=Soft porn, and that is not a Christian occupation. There was no way they were made for anything but promoting lust and we all know it. Some of us know it better than others from the sounds of many posts.

Again, sorry for being a downer, but it needed to be said.

I’m sure many people would agree with you. I don’t think it’s my place to judge Prejean’s actions, and I believe she would be likely to be more modest as she’s matured in her faith. And clearly, her decision to pose in skimpy outfits (or model at all, really) puts her in a lot of situations that could get her in trouble.

That said, I think that the notion that all Conservatives are monkish prudes is a huge stereotype that Prejean can help dispel. Republicans can be HAWT, and not nearly as trampy as the heroes of the left. Carrie shows you can be a beautiful woman and still have self-respect.

No offense, but as some who received a Doctorate in lingerie and modeling and who now works at the prestigious lingerie and modeling Institute and who also is a Nobel Laureate in lingerie and modeling and who has propounded the Special Theory of Relative lingerie and modeling; I can assure you that Miss California is a major babe.

And you would know because? Assuming you have actually read the koran and know that the first part of the book is superseded by the second: have you read the Hadiths, and Sunnahs? The few extremists you mention are conservatively put at 10-20% of the total People of Peace or about 120-240 million extremists.

And of course it is wrong to condemn the People of Peace when they condemn women to something less than 2nd class status, throw gays off tall buildings, stone to death adulterers, cut off body parts, and flog women seen in public with unrelated males!
