U.S.-Israeli cooperation starting to break down under Obama?

Predictable — or is it?

Senior officials in Jerusalem expressed concern recently over the sharp decline in the coordination between Israel and the United States on security and state affairs since President Barack Obama’s entered the White House and especially since the formation of Israel’s new government…

“Obama’s people brief their Israeli counterparts in advance much less about security and Middle East policy activities than the Bush administration used to,” the officials said.

In addition, when they do brief Israeli officials, they don’t consult with them or coordinate their statements in advance.

This has caused several coordination “malfunctions” between the two states in the past two months, they said…

[A senior] official said the new administration no longer seems to see Israel as a “special” or “extraordinary” state in the Middle East, with which the U.S. must maintain a different dialogue than with other states.

Serious question: If you’re Obama and your worst nightmare is an unexpected Israeli attack on Iran that provokes a regional war and jeopardizes the world’s oil supply, why on earth would you alienate the Israeli leadership? Wouldn’t you want to get as close to them as possible, to exert maximum influence? This doesn’t add up. It’s almost like saying, “We’re not friends anymore, so do whatever you want.” Plausible deniability, in other words.

For the record, a near-majority says that if Israel attacks, the U.S. should “help.” Only 37 percent say we should do nothing.

Blowback

It appears that President Obama has decided that the way to a more secure America and the path to a vital American economy can only be achieved by selling out Israel. The Oil Cartel wants two new Palestinian states (Gaza the West Bank) and in return they keep the price of a barrel of oil in check. Obama throws Israel under the bus. The Arab states want Iran neutered. Obama cuts a deal with Iran, screw Israel. He rewrites history, the infidels are the Israeli’s, now with the moniker given by Jimmy Carter, Israel, The Apartheid State, which makes the Islamic world happy. So thinks our new quixotic president…so let’s all join hands and sing, “When the moon was is in the seventh house and jupiter aligns with mars, then peace will guide the planets and love will steer the stars…” Tra la la, we’veentered Obama’s Age of Aquarius. Shalom which means hello, peace, and ta-ta. Kaboom.

I was trying to be circumspect; I realize attempting apply any mortal shortcoming to His Majesty could be considered racism. Of course, if the charge of anti-semitism did reach the public square, I have no doubt the media would do their best to put a happy face on it.

The way Daniel Pipes sees it playing out:

The plan is to destroy Israel, and to do it by pushing Israel to the edge of the cliff and then over the cliff. Israel’s enemies will be getting top of the line US military equipment. Israel will not. Israel will be squeezed economically until the Netanyahu government collapses, leaving a weak left wing leader like Livni in charge of Israel, and in charge of acceding to the new Pharaoh’s demands.

Meanwhile so-called American Jewish groups will support Obama all the way, some because they were created precisely for that purpose, e.g. J-Street, and others because they have been hijacked, cowed or subverted.

That is the game plan and some of it’s coming. The rest is already here.

Okay, I get it. He’s a Christian (who no longer sees the need to attend Church on Sunday). But what would he be doing differently if he were a closet Muslim? Anyone?

As I tell my friends, keep watching Jerusalem. When Obama attempts to throw Israel under the bus, all Hell will be on the verge…

When Iran’s nuclear facilities become mushroom clouds, Israeli will be standing under a street light looking innocent.

Sure glad Bibi is in charge. Suspect he doesn’t take much garbage from anybody!

U.S.-Israeli cooperation starting to break down under Obama?

I hope nobody took closet Muslim Barry Soetoro seriously about him protecting Israel babble during the campaign. Among many, Barry threw his grandmother under the bus, so what makes anyone think Israel will be treated any differently.

Can anyone tell me if Israel still has the policy that all citizens of a certain age (male and female, though in separate armies – and I TOTALLY think the US should borrow that idea, btw) are required to spend two years in the military, so that every citizen has combat training? Seeing as their intelligence is legendary and their military technology is the best in the region, I can’t help wondering if memories of Israel’s early wars are fading and her enemies have forgotten what happens when you f*ck with Israel.

Which is all beside the point, since I still think we should be supporting such an excellent and tolerant (no matter what detractors say) democracy. Can’t say we didn’t see this coming, though. Really, Allah, you’re expecting Obama to behave in a logical manner? Shame on you! ;)

I am shocked!

Last time I checked, I am pretty sure Israel and USA are two separate countries.

It should be kept that way.
