“‘This isn’t goodbye,’ said the president, signing autographs and posing for pictures before leaving for his next appointment, ‘this is hello.’ His national security staff would have an open-door policy.
Believe . . . feel . . . hope.
We’d been had…
I asked Cmdr. Kirk Lippold why some of the Cole families declined the invitation to meet with Barack Obama at the White House.

If someone is going to do some “education” work on just what ACORN is about, here’s a great place to start:

…because we talk to our children? ;-)
He will need to put an end to that. Compulsory pre-school, and an even larger role of the Fed in K-12 perhaps?
And, of course, both parents will have an ever increasing need to work full time just to pay the taxes for the round-the-clock, government provided day care so the working class can work.
And, when its discovered that both parents, working full time, are still coming up short with revenue for the “system”, we can look forward to required “volunteerism” on Saturdays and Sundays, service to the country being the most noble way to address the needs of a nation, don’t you know. And besides, it’s for the children.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg! Here’s the strategy near as I can figure:
ACORN sets up to look like it’s there to help the poor. What it’s actually there to do is to encourage “the poor” to put so much weight on the system that they collapse it (be that voting, housing, etc.). What happens is, others in poor communities see the thin veneer of what ACORN seems to say it’s trying to do (think “affordable housing”) and they sign on to help. When they get in, however, they begin to see that all is not what it appeared. At that point, they have two options: get out, or stay in and conform. Most get out and stay silent. The ACORN-8 is speaking out. (Thank GOD, and prayers for them and their families!)
Oh, and if ACORN goes too far and someone starts questioning what they are really up to, the leadership says, “It was just a rogue employee. It’s not the whole organization.” Except, YES IT IS! This is a top-down STRATEGY designed to collapse the system! And make no mistake, they firmly believe Saul Alinsky’s statement, “The ends justifies the means”–meaning whatever it takes, do it.

Reminds me of the last mailing I got from the RNC. The tone was basically (paraphrased here) “You haven’t abandoned us have you? Please say you haven’t abandoned us!” Begging for funds, totally pathetic drama play. Needless to say it went straight into the trash.

We need to organize, and get this group taken down. Start writing everyone in Congress, and demand an investigation. I’m willing to do this. I’ll even call every day, if I have to, and write emails, and letters, 100 times, if that’s what it takes.
capejasmine on May 9, 2009 at 12:34 PM
I have long experience with this tactic. It’s not unlike typical bullying behavior. It’s also similar to terror tactics.
While it appears the goal is to destroy an individual with whom they disagree, and they may well accomplish that, in reality the goal is far broader and sinister. It is to frighten observers into voluntarily submitting to the will of the bully or terrorist. Some will actually take on the bully’s cause as their own, in order to be on the safe side. Some will practice the fine art of indifference to avoid getting involved in such a mess. Others will completely shut up and become submissive to avoid harassment.
This tactic is employed because it works. People have basic needs for safety and for belonging to a group. Public shunning, ridicule, slurs and name-calling, verbal harassment and threats, publication of private information, etc., often have a very negative effect on the target. But the tactic has a broader impact on all witnesses. It desacralizes and dehumanizes.

Obama can kiss my hiney, if he expects that from me, or anyone else.
capejasmine on May 9, 2009 at 12:36 PM
The way to deal with a bully, is to attack as a group, with no dissention. At least that’s how it worked on the play ground. lol
capejasmine on May 9, 2009 at 12:40 PM
Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.
See, this isn’t so difficult to understand the game plan once you quit being on the defensive and start understanding what they are doing!
UnderstandingisPower on May 9, 2009 at 12:42 PM
Attack as a group, with no dissention means that we have to make a concerted effort to stop being “distracted” all the time with other things. How do we join together and do that?
UnderstandingisPower on May 9, 2009 at 12:43 PM
Without naming names for Janet to put on her list, do you know public school teachers or members of academia who are not indoctrinating children and young people with liberal dogma?
If so, such non-dogmatic educators need all the support we can give them. While they don’t face the challenges of our armed forces, they are the equivalent of our front line troops in the political culture wars. Very tough job for them to survive.
Loxodonta on May 9, 2009 at 12:43 PM
Apathy and indifference are the greatest problem.
The only kind of dignity which is genuine
is that which is not diminished by
the indifference of others.
– Dag Hammarskjöld
And I don’t know how to solve it.
Science may have found a cure for most evils;
but it has found no remedy for the worst of them all –
the apathy of human beings.
– Helen Keller
It’s up to each of us. Empathy cannot be forced, it must be freely chosen.
Loxodonta on May 9, 2009 at 12:50 PM
First is to focus on what unifies us. It appears there is not agreement on that. If the only thing that unifies us is our desire to kick the liberal Democrats out of power, that’s not going to be enough. My sense is that fiscal and national defense conservatism should unite us, but there are even differences there. So…
And then, we have to encourage amicable disagreement on the divisive social issues, and discourage the abusive infighting from our most conservative to our most libertarian factions. And do it in our words and deeds as much as possible.
How many threads are here every day in which posters participate in flaming internecine warfare?
All of this is very, very difficult. And I confess I make mistakes, lose my temper, get confused, and get intimidated and depressed at times.
Loxodonta on May 9, 2009 at 1:07 PM
Loxodonta. True. All very true. But some of this “flaming” is premeditated by the “trolls.” It is a tactic. I don’t know if you’re familiar with military terms because I am not and would like to be, but here’s how I see this:
Their goal is collapse.
Their strategy is putting so much weight on each system that it collapses, causing further collapse.
They do this primarily by using the Rules for Radicals.
But so few understand those things, so they don’t know how to fight it. So we are left “flaming trolls” while the city burns around us. We have to learn to focus–on banding together, educating ourselves, and confronting this stuff. Not easy, but have you looked at the hills? There are angels on our side that they can’t see…
UnderstandingisPower on May 9, 2009 at 1:13 PM
Also, that Delphi Technique I found at 3 a.m. was a real eye-opener in their tactics. The thing is, once you learn it, the temper, etc. thing isn’t nearly so much an issue because you SEE what they are doing instead of REACTING to what they are doing, you can RESPOND. Like this line in Rules for Radicals…
Rule 10: The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative. Avoid being trapped by an opponent or an interviewer who says, “Okay, what would you do?”
There are places to attack, we just have been so caught up in the “distractions” that we didn’t know how. One of the biggest is just getting the word out and educating people as to what’s really going on. I’m of the mind now that this whole, “Obama’s an amatuer” thing is a DISTRACTION. It leads people to go, “Oh, well, how badly can he screw it up.” Thinking, of course, that his goal is our goal, and our goal is his goal, when it’s NOT! Our goal is preservation of our society, values, Constitution, etc. HIS goal is to collapse all of that and the faster, the better before anyone figures out what he’s doing.
UnderstandingisPower on May 9, 2009 at 1:18 PM
I don’t think Obama is so much an amateur, but I don’t think he’s pulling the strings either. He’s simply taking orders, and following thru.
Ladies, and Gentlemen, the President of the United States…..George Soros.
capejasmine on May 9, 2009 at 1:27 PM
I agree with and encourage the educational efforts you are promoting. However, as to this:
Other than distracting, which is bad enough, how much real damage is being done by liberal trolls? And how much is being done by the opposing wings of the Party, the strict social conservative versus the most libertarian on social issues?
This Headline thread today, for example.
Loxodonta on May 9, 2009 at 1:29 PM
That’s not the reason that the exec is powerless. She and the board in DC ACORN were powerless before she blew the whistle. She said that the exec and board positions are ‘ceremonial.’ That’s how Marxist-based organizations are run–with figureheads out front and the real power hidden. The prime example is the Executive Branch of the US government! That’s one of the reasons why Obama has hired so many incompetents.
(Another reason for this is that no one competent will accept a position in this administration. But the overarching reason is because he is trying to take down the system so incompetency is one of the accelerators.)
baldilocks on May 9, 2009 at 1:42 PM
Thank you for your support and my son wanted me to pass that along to you.
At this point we are waiting on Monday morning. He has to decide if he will comply with this illegal order or not.
To make things clear to anyone who is confused my son is fully in compliance with Foot Hood regulgation 190-11 requiring the reporting and registration of ON POST firearms. According to his unit, the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment ALL soldiers in the regiment must:
1. Report all weapons they own, even weapons stored on private property such as MY OWN HOME.
2. All must be identified by serial number.
3. All must be photographed.
4. All must have an exact location specified as to where they are stored.
5. All must have an exact description as to how they are stored.
6. Each and every weapon must be listed that…
a. Are LICENSED to them
b. Are REGISTERED to them
b. What TRAINING they have with them
Failure to comply with these reporting requirements subjects the offending soldier to action under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
……..
Sorry to hit and run again but I have a swing shift to run and will be leaving the house shortly.
Right now we have been bombarding our Senators, Congressmen, Governor, and the NRA with letters of concern and request for advice. So far not a peep in return.
God Save the Republic.

baldilocks on May 9, 2009 at 1:49 PM
I, too, am taking my leave, but before I go in response to Loxodonta, I give you these things to think about:
Rules for Radicals
In 1971, Saul Alinsky wrote an entertaining classic on grassroots organizing titled Rules for Radicals. Those who prefer cooperative tactics describe the book as out-of-date. Nevertheless, it provides some of the best advice on confrontational tactics. Alinsky begins this way:
What follows is for those who want to change the world from what it is to what they believe it should be. The Prince was written by Machiavelli for the Haves on how to hold power. Rules for Radicals is written for the Have-Nots on how to take it away.
His “rules” derive from many successful campaigns where he helped poor people fighting power and privilege
For Alinsky, organizing is the process of highlighting what is wrong and convincing people they can actually do something about it. The two are linked. If people feel they don’t have the power to change a bad situation, they stop thinking about it.
According to Alinsky, the organizer — especially a paid organizer from outside — must first overcome suspicion and establish credibility. Next the organizer must begin the task of agitating: rubbing resentments, fanning hostilities, and searching out controversy. This is necessary to get people to participate. An organizer has to attack apathy and disturb the prevailing patterns of complacent community life where people have simply come to accept a bad situation. Alinsky would say, “The first step in community organization is community disorganization.”
Through a process combining hope and resentment, the organizer tries to create a “mass army” that brings in as many recruits as possible from local organizations, churches, services groups, labor unions, corner gangs, and individuals.
Alinsky provides a collection of rules to guide the process. But he emphasizes these rules must be translated into real-life tactics that are fluid and responsive to the situation at hand.
Rule 1: Power is not only what you have, but what an opponent thinks you have. If your organization is small, hide your numbers in the dark and raise a din that will make everyone think you have many more people than you do.
Rule 4: Make opponents live up to their own book of rules. “You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.”
Thus the “hypocrite” cry about everything. There is also something else in these writings that I can’t find right now, but basically it says to foment “friendly fire” among your enemies. The more you do that, the more they are fighting amongst themselves and distracted from what you are actually doing.
I think it’s very important to simply understand what their goal is: Collapse of the system. When you look at a tactic, see how it works toward this end. Everything they do will be aimed toward this end.
God Save the Republic!
UnderstandingisPower on May 9, 2009 at 1:52 PM
understood. I grabbed some names of folks I believed were on the up-n-up and provided them to him. What we really want is for our elected representatives to question the U.S. Army about this and report to us what they find. It is being promoted as a ‘health and safety’ issue (what else!). Victims of domestic violence, yada yada yada bullpie.
I gotta run. I’ll be home around midnight.

On the other hand, God doesn’t take time off.
So there is hope.
Loxodonta on May 9, 2009 at 1:58 PM
Right.
Nonetheless, the quandary rests within the masses.
MSM has done its job. Accordingly, the “moderate” American is one that believes the MSM and remains unattached to anything, still uneducated as to the reality of today’s news being uniformly broadcast in Newspeak. Call them independent, if you will, or progressives by ignorant default. But there remain a lot of “Democrats” that just don’t know the score, still going along for the populace ride directed by the radical left (‘no one could really be so bad, no one I know‘), feeling comfortable for upholding their parents’ party, even our parents remaining in the Democrat party as if they have a voice in it any more, doing their feel good bit for tradition. Being of adult age, THEY deserve an awakening, drugged as they are into mesmerized indifference.
Tolerance went so far; used up now. Abrupt news must be in the arsenal of truth. We could use their numbers. It is THEY who must respond against Pelosi, Reid and Obama from within their own party, or leave it. If needs be, let their disillusionment result in their silence. Otherwise, recall the parable of hired hands who show up at the last minute to harvest and are paid the same as those who labored throughout the season.

That is ONLY phase one.
Phase two:
Report all right wing books, as determined by the Secretary of DHS, they own, even right wing books stored on private property such as MY OWN HOME.
2. All must be identified by title, author and edition.
3. All must be photographed.
4. All must have an exact location specified as to where they are stored.
5. All must have an exact description as to how they are stored.
6. Each and every right wing book must be listed that…
a. Are OWNED by them
b. Are BORROWED by them
b. What PAGES they have with read
Failure to comply with these reporting requirements subjects the offending soldier to action under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
Think I am kidding? Perhaps. Perhaps not.

Your faith expressed days ago in the majority of people still being good at heart, a lecture from my dad growing up, made me revisit the thought to account for your 12:35 experience (mutual).
People WANT to think that they are really good at heart. But very few there be that actually are, as it requires more than they are willing to be. Most people are either cowards or bullies. Mob mentality thoroughly rules the academia and cultural elitists who remain the Fascists in power.
We have all the makings within us to be anything by choice. Change is hard, mostly because of the pigeon hole assignment. Those who actually arrive at your point of enlightenment are considered fresh meat by the cruel. Be wise as the serpent and cunning as the fox.
The goal: uphold our foundation, the US Constitution and Bill of Rights. Let us learn to ALL be brave in our own way. We are not alone. We have each other. Moreover, we have unity in spirit that impacts Zeitgeist with Providence and faith. Those many who WANT to be good will eventually do something good (even if with their last gasp). Just quit waiting for others before we take our own first step because repetition through time is a requirement in “learning” to teach and achieve.
