Michelle Malkin needs some bible study, along with some history lessons.

I'll point her to the gospel of Matthew about prayer. And I'll suggest the church-going habits of Reagan and W.

By now, Michelle Malkin should know what happen when she assumes.

Michelle Obama,
"We need a leader who's going to touch our souls. Who's going to make us feel differently about one another. Who's going to remind us that we are one another’s keepers. That we are only as strong as the weakest among us," she said, echoing biblical passages.

Allah, thanks for posting video of the boss. Watching her is like listening to Rush. Great to see someone speak what we are thinking. Not sure why we've seen so little of her lately, maybe the move to Denver has something to do with it? But just wanted to encourage HA to keep her videos coming.

On Bradford’s credentials, Russell Kirk (that’s the Russell Kirk) said this in his foreward to another book of Bradford’s Founding Fathers: Brief Lives of the Framers of the United States Constitution:

Bradford’s national reputation is founded upon his painstaking and accurate scholarship—and upon his rhetorical skill as well…In general, American historians have been daunted by the tremendous task of fighting their way through antique printed collections of politicians’ letters and through thousands of holograph letters, uncollected, in dusty archives and private hands, but Mel Bradford was possessed of fortitude and a desire to write real history. He knew that there is no better way to ascertain the much-debated “original intent” of the Framers than to pass beyond the somewhat meager journals of the Convention, and beyond The Federalist Papers, to the labyrinthine treasury of letters the Framers wrote home or to one another.

…More fully than most commentators upon those Framers, Bradford has carefully examined their several religious persuasions or affiliations, discovering few Deists or unchurched.

Keep posting stuff like that, and MB4 will be forced to scrounge up some third-party quote about the Continental Congress being made up of erudite atheists conjuring up prayer days to mollify the superstitious rabble.

TMK on May 8, 2009 at 12:23 AM

I have just the quote for him:

As to the subject of the Founders religious beliefs, M.E. Bradford in his book Original Intentions: On the Making and Ratification of the United States Constitution has an excellent chapter titled, “Religion and the Framers: The Biographical Evidence”.

To describe the Framers out a larger body of evidence taken from the entire generation to which they belong—of the 150 to 200 principal Founders of the Republic—is to acquire another view of their composite character, especially with reference to the original American tradition concerning liberty, the state, and religion.

As I have come to know through my own work, the concept of the Framers as ordinary Christians, as members in good standing of the various Christian communions found in early America, is supported by the recorded patterns of their lives. What I propose in the way of a collective portrait draws upon evidence from the usually ignored 95 percent of that group—ignored because they are not precursors of the present dispensation in law, ethics, and public policy.

Maybe this is why Obama "rubs so many people the wrong way"

Bush took alot of crap about being a recovering alcoholic. But he was honest about it and he was honest about it being a wake up call in his life. The rest of us, respect someone who has been tested in a "Come to Jesus" moment. He wears his faith as part of his skin....

Obama has never been tested. He's never met that moment in his life where he's had to put his faith in God to see him through. He still believes that he is the ultimate authority in his own life. His comments in San Francisco ridiculing those of us who "cling to guns and religion" really are how he feels about it. He views people of faith as being weak and intellectually inferior and religion is something to be exploited for political expediency.

As for the uproar over the Nat'l Day of Prayer....IMHO, Bush was more influential than we realized in creating pride in the country that we are a nation with Faith in God.

I don't have a problem with him not going. I think most Christians percieved he was just giving lip service to being a Christian during his campaign. Seriously, with his stance on partial birth abortion and certain things he said during the campaign I would be a bit befuddled at someone being shocked that he was not quite as religious as he said he was. Obama shunning the prayer day is just another about-face reversal that he is so adept at.

In any case, being that it is National Day of Prayer, I will be praying for him and for this country.

Probably because he is not really a Christian. His participation at Rev. Wrights church seemed to be for purely political purposes. And then lets not forget that he went to Islamic countries and proclaimed that the United States was not a Christian nation. He can't very well then turn around and show these nations that he goes to church publicly after all of that.

But Obama represented himself as Christian on the Campaign trail. And when the rubber met the road, he chose not to continue participating in a national observance begun in 1952. If he is truly following his belief system now, this makes his representation of his belief system during the campaign nothing but a lie.

And so retooling the entirety of America’s industrial output to fight WWII wasn’t a more drastic example of that sort of government intervention? Or the Nixon wage/price freeze…which was nationwide? Fascism like internment camps? Economic insanity like smoot-hawley??? Obama’s really that far above and beyond our past? He’s really that exceptional?

Ahh so you admit Obama is repeating some of the worst mistakes of our history!

I think it would be good if the man studied a bit of history and tried not to make stupid stupid stupid mistakes! The consequences of those mistakes aren't going to be felt by he and his now rich family. They are going to be paid by us and our children.

"National Prayer Day" ??

I've never heard of this either. And I agree with others who think this absurd.

wtf is national prayer day? sounds like 'earth day'

And it's freakin' funny to see "christians" bashing Obama over this. You have nothing, nada, zero to do with Obama's relationship with God. Get over it.

Then you need to read the Old Testament. God commanded many times in the Old Testament for the Israelites to setup memorials to Him... so that when their children asked what that was for, they could relate a specific instance when God intervened and made Himself known.

Those "Christians" who do not see the need to mention God in public should heed Jesus' words of Matthew 10:32-33...

32"Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.

Please read... tigerlily on May 7, 2009 at 10:43 PM ... to understand the reason behind the National Day of Prayer.

Because he has no religion. He’s never been baptized and struggles with his Muslim boyhood.

Well I think that's what most of his opponents believe. But as usual, with Obama and most politicians, the fun is in watching him lie and squirm because he's a lying squirming coward, and it's a pleasure to see him step into a stinking pile of pelosi.

Remember, the hard left is basically at war against Christianity. Obama's not nearly as religious as he is a 'progressive' community organizer. I've thought all along that religion is little more than an expedient tool for him, including his 20 years with Wright's Marxist church.

He’s saving the big revelations for his second term, when it’s politically safe: The middle-class tax hike; the fact that he secretly supports gay marriage; and, most historically of all, his declaration of atheism.

That and more. Heaven help us all.

His bowing before the high muckety-muck and keeper of the secret meccan flame leads me to think he flirting at least.

And I still call priests “father” when conversating. Doesn’t make me religious. The reasonable conclusion is that Obama is not religious…not that he’s secretly a religious muslim.

I was mostly joshing. However, Barry bowed to someone who is both King and religious leader. Since he doesn't bow to other Kings, I'll draw my own conclusions. btw, I'm not a Christian, and don't call priests, "father," and wouldn't bow to the Pope. If Obama called a priest "father," I would agree with you that it's no proof he's religious. There's always the possibility I suppose that he bows to non-white Kings only. Don't spread this around, but I think he has some race "issues."

Michelle: Why isn’t Obama celebrating the National Day of Prayer publicly?

Where did anyone get the notion that they were actually praying, and teaching Christianity at Rev. Wright's, hate America hell hole?

Black Liberation Theology has nothing to do with the Holy Bible, or the teachings of Jesus Christ. NOTHING!
