Bush took alot of crap about being a recovering alcoholic. But he was honest about it and he was honest about it being a wake up call in his life. The rest of us, respect someone who has been tested in a “Come to Jesus” moment. He wears his faith as part of his skin….

Obama has never been tested. He’s never met that moment in his life where he’s had to put his faith in God to see him through. He still believes that he is the ultimate authority in his own life. His comments in San Francisco ridiculing those of us who “cling to guns and religion” really are how he feels about it. He views people of faith as being weak and intellectually inferior and religion is something to be exploited for political expediency.

As for the uproar over the Nat’l Day of Prayer….IMHO, Bush was more influential than we realized in creating pride in the country that we are a nation with Faith in God.

In any case, being that it is National Day of Prayer, I will be praying for him and for this country.

But Obama represented himself as Christian on the Campaign trail. And when the rubber met the road, he chose not to continue participating in a national observance begun in 1952. If he is truly following his belief system now, this makes his representation of his belief system during the campaign nothing but a lie.

Yes, but should Obama fake it if he doesn’t feel it? I don’t think so. I think faking it is worse.

And so retooling the entirety of America’s industrial output to fight WWII wasn’t a more drastic example of that sort of government intervention? Or the Nixon wage/price freeze…which was nationwide? Fascism like internment camps? Economic insanity like smoot-hawley??? Obama’s really that far above and beyond our past? He’s really that exceptional?

Ahh so you admit Obama is repeating some of the worst mistakes of our history!

I think it would be good if the man studied a bit of history and tried not to make stupid stupid stupid mistakes! The consequences of those mistakes aren’t going to be felt by he and his now rich family. They are going to be paid by us and our children.

Then you need to read the Old Testament. God commanded many times in the Old Testament for the Israelites to setup memorials to Him… so that when their children asked what that was for, they could relate a specific instance when God intervened and made Himself known.

Those “Christians” who do not see the need to mention God in public should heed Jesus’ words of Matthew 10:32-33…

32″Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.

Well I think that’s what most of his opponents believe. But as usual, with Obama and most politicians, the fun is in watching him lie and squirm because he’s a lying squirming coward, and it’s a pleasure to see him step into a stinking pile of pelosi.

He’s saving the big revelations for his second term, when it’s politically safe: The middle-class tax hike; the fact that he secretly supports gay marriage; and, most historically of all, his declaration of atheism.

That and more. Heaven help us all.

His bowing before the high muckety-muck and keeper of the secret meccan flame leads me to think he flirting at least.

And I still call priests “father” when conversating. Doesn’t make me religious. The reasonable conclusion is that Obama is not religious…not that he’s secretly a religious muslim.

I was mostly joshing. However, Barry bowed to someone who is both King and religious leader. Since he doesn’t bow to other Kings, I’ll draw my own conclusions. btw, I’m not a Christian, and don’t call priests, “father,” and wouldn’t bow to the Pope. If Obama called a priest “father,” I would agree with you that it’s no proof he’s religious. There’s always the possibility I suppose that he bows to non-white Kings only. Don’t spread this around, but I think he has some race “issues.”
