Video: Would-be rapist/murderers receive Second Amendment lesson

posted at 4:05 pm on May 6, 2009 by Allahpundit

This one’s too good to be left languishing in Headlines. Glance at the news reports describing what happened and you might think it was a routine burglary that went awry when the homeowner surprised them. Not so much. Needless to say, the shooter’s free and clear of any homicide charges, but I wonder if they’re going to charge him with a lesser offense: While Georgia’s gun laws are pretty lax (no state registration required), you do need a license to carry outside your own home. Did the shooter have one? Was it even his own gun that he grabbed out of the backpack? If he gets anything more than a very short suspended sentence, it’ll be a travesty. Click the image to watch.

Guns don’t kill, bullets do.

Good for him. An armed society is the biggest deterrent to crime there is.

coyoterex on May 6, 2009 at 4:11 PM

If he gets anything short of a medal, it’ll be a travesty. This is a case where the police need to use their discretion not to investigate certain questions.

JackOfClubs on May 6, 2009 at 4:11 PM

Jones is a hero in my book.

Vashta.Nerada on May 6, 2009 at 4:12 PM

He should be given a medal and a cash reward. Anything less would be a travesty.

For my last birthday my daughter gave me a T-shirt…

Said:

Fight Crime
Shoot Back…

Dam, I musta done something right in the parenting department somewhere along the way…

Romeo13 on May 6, 2009 at 4:15 PM

The fact that the student was able to defend himself and his friends is argument one why so many campuses should rethink about disarming the people who attend their schools.

Me likes the Second Amendment. ;-)

Good for you! You should be proud. I have had a tough time with my daughters, as my ex is quite the flaming liberal in some ways, but it seems the older they get, the more they are coming around to a more conservative point of view.

itzWicks on May 6, 2009 at 4:15 PM

It’s true. IDK about jimmy the notable, or upstater, or ernesto, but on my campus we’ve had many gunpoint robberies, sexual attacks, and other crimes on campus in the last 2 years. There’s been a lull lately, thankfully, but I still worry about my female friends when they walk around campus in the dusk/dark.

the_nile on May 6, 2009 at 4:18 PM

Didn’t check, but has the MSM already run the obligatory “[The would-be killer] was a good boy! He jus’ got mixed up in da wrong crowd!” story?

Because, as we all know, no thug that gets what’s coming to him was ever a bad guy bent on rape and murder.

wv619 on May 6, 2009 at 4:18 PM

An aside:

I’m watching Obarfy the Mouthpiece talk about Asscrackistan..

He talks about “learning the lessons of 9/11.” It just sounds so damn insincere.
I can’t hear the sincerity in his words. Just sounds like he’s reading…

…oh…

blatantblue on May 6, 2009 at 4:19 PM

Shooting violent criminals…what a novel idea.

pugwriter on May 6, 2009 at 4:19 PM

Don’t you see, people? If guns were outlawed then no one in the apartment would have been in danger of being shot. Because no one there would have had access to a gun. It would be illegal!!! No would-be murderer/rapist would dare use a gun and risk a minor-by-comparison weapons charge when committing a capital crime. It wouldn’t make sense, man.

Only an idiot prosecutes a case like this. You lose when the defense attorney gets up and requests a trial by jury. Maybe you can get convictions in New York, NY – where idiocy is more accepted.

Looks like the rapist was the one who ended up getting penetrated.

All scum who force themselves on women at gunpoint relinquish their right to life.

At some point more citizens are going to see that bad people prey on the unarmed…in Atlanta, in DC, in the Sway Valley, Can’t talk to them, the bad guys, that we have seen over and over again, is a waste of time, but, you can diminish their numbers, and that is an effective use of time.

blatantblue on May 6, 2009 at 4:18 PM

You should. At my college, we had a serial rapist who was breaking into campus apartments. He’d knock on the door, get you to answer, and then push the door open.

And this was at a place with a serious police presence.

Esthier on May 6, 2009 at 4:42 PM

No I haven’t. I was supposed to go hunting a couple of times and never did and canceled at last minute going to shooting range not too long ago.

youngO on May 6, 2009 at 4:40 PM

That sucks. Go when you can. I was nervous when I first shot, and honestly, I didn’t want to do it when push came to shove with the rifle in my hands. I put it down at first. Then I was persuaded into picking it back up, and after I shot for the first time, I got a little sh*t eating grin on my face

youngO on May 6, 2009 at 4:45 PM

Esthier on May 6, 2009 at 4:42 PM

There was a huge campaign against “propping doors.” Kids would prop a side door open with a stone so they could go to their car, go to dinner, go have a smoke, etc. People would come in that way, through the side doors. One kid had his door pushed in, the robber ripped the kids laptop out of his room, and the kid had the cajones to chase him down, jump the robber, f*ck him up, call the cops, and get his laptop back

The article implies that the thugs had plans to kill everyone.
………
But because a law-abiding citizen had a gun [ohhh the horrors..], we have one thug DRT, and another under arrest.
………
IF the law-abiding citizen hadn’t been armed, it would have been a MASSACRE and plastered All over the Lying Statist Media as yet ANOTHER Reason to disarm the Law-abiding.

……….
But since it happened this way, there will be nothing about this except silence from the media.

Do I have that correct?

I hear that a lot, and don’t disagree. The wall penetration of a 20 vs 12 is the factor. You don’t want to accidently hit Johnny in room #2. I keep heavy birdshot in my 12 (less poor Johnny factor) but keep six 00s in the buttstock for those just in case I need them moments.
