If Colin Powell can help attract people to that platform, why purge him?

The objective is to pretend to be a Republican, trash the GOP and Republicans, in this way Independent and Moderates go to his Party of choice: The Democrat Party. His Hope & Change is that by putting down the GOP to which he has been affiliated lends credibility to his criticisms which he expects will leave people saying, “If such an upstanding righty like Powell can’t stand the GOP, why should I?”

Keep at it Rush, sooner or later you will whittle the party down to a true 20 percent, including the actual politicians. No room for disagreeing with me, if you can’t lock step behind my fat drug infused ass, get out.

On what grounds does Powell deserve to call himself Republican? He holds no principles that are in common with ours. Worst of all, he voted for this empty-suit slick-talking idiot that we have in office. Rush is right.

The likes of Powell (and Meghan & others so called ‘moderates’ who are b******* so loudly about the social cons) want to abandon the social cons in every way – “shut up about your issues, shut up about wanting policy to advance those issues, shut up about us going against your values and issues …. but show up and vote the way we tell you.” On occasion, you’ll even hear one of them spill the beans … “where are the social cons going to go?”

Limbaugh isn’t telling Powell to shut up and give him (Limbaugh) a proxy for Powell’s vote; he’s saying “General, if you’re going to vote Democrat and criticize Republicans like a Democrat (using their talking points and everything), then what are you doing calling yourself a Republican?”

If Powell’s going to walk like a Democrat, talk like a Democrat and vote like a Democrat, then what’s he doing calling himself a Republican?

Our conservative ideas are time-tested and proven. There is no need for new ideas, merely a need to repackage our ideas to an American public that has been dulled down and lied to by the Mainstream Media and NEA schoolteacher hacks.

So Powell is telling the mysterious ‘we’ that ‘we’ should not be listening to Limbaugh, who is the anti-Democrat.

He is also saying suckers like myself are swarming to Limbaugh to feed our lesser instincts, the better instincts, I suppose being to worship at the feet of Obama.

It does not take Rush to feed my lesser instincts. I have Satan for that, and Mr. Powell, who inspires in me contempt for his Specter impersonations

I heard McCain in a local radio interview the other day, & he blasted BHO many times during that hour on a variety of subjects. Do you think he would do that if we drummed him out of the GOP?
McCain is a decent Senator. Not great, but decent. I don’t want to turn him into a political enemy.

I agree with Rush, the GOP should be a party of conservatives. I don’t think we need to be a big tent party. A smaller but more cohesive GOP that has a direct message will win elections.

Read your own comment. REally? How? If you have told people like Powell that they can’t vote Republican, then by definition your “small, cohesive” party is…small. If conservative policies carry the day in the GOP, then the party will obviously get bigger.

It will get bigger because people like Powell will believe that our policies make more sense than the socialist nitwit Democrats. Use a little logic.

So does Barack Obama. So does Harry Reid. So does Nancy Pelosi. That doesn’t make them Republicans.

Dude, you’re looking for disagreements where there may not be any, which seems like a waste of energy. If Powell would have be associated with the GOP than the Democrats, then that’s a good thing.

You want policy agreement? Fine – he agreed with Bush that Hussein needed to be removed forcibly from this earth. That’s a pretty good start.

You’re arguing with people who agree with you on 95% of public policy issues – these are not your enemies.

Not so much. I’m one of Limbaugh’s biggest fans, but AP’s absolutley right on this – it’s not Rush’s place to tell people not to call themselves Republicans. If Nancy Pelosi suddenly changes her party affiliation to Republican, and begins calling herself a Republican, I’ll welcome her nitwit ass to the party and she can say whatever she wants.

I apparently agree with Powell on almost nothing, and have very little respect for the jobs he has done that I am aware of, especially Chairman of the Joint Chiefs (political nonsense job), Secretary of State (he was little better than a Democrat), and his current job as freelance promoter of a socialist nitwit on the basis of skin color.

But if he says he’s a Republican, on what basis would I tell him to leave?
