Blockbuster AP/NBC report: Date night out for the Obamas

posted at 6:47 pm on May 3, 2009 by Allahpundit

The best part of fluffy garbage like this is that the media knows they’re going to be mocked relentlessly for it by the right — and they simply don’t care. So tingly are they over the second coming of Camelot that not only are they in the tank, they’re downright proud to be there. It really is like a romance: Sure, they’re acting moony and goofy, but damn it, they’re in love. How else to explain an otherwise sober reporter from the New York Times thinking it’d be a good idea to stand up at a nationally televised press conference and ask Obama how enchanted he feels?

I’m not sure how much dumber and gooier it can get. Maybe Bo will start himself a family with a good-looking poodle and our new president will heroically help deliver the litter. I can almost see the photo of him grinning, six new puppies in his arms, with various reporters making the “awwww” face just over his shoulder.

Upstater85 on May 3, 2009 at 10:08 PM

Yeah, it’s really fluffy, and I am no fan of the cult of The One. However, if this married black couple manage to be a role model for marriage in a community that has historically had trouble with men sticking around to be good fathers and husbands, I think it is videotape well invested.

Wow! I’m surprised it took this long for someone specifically bring up race.

You’d have a point if Barry came from or grew up in an “African American” community. Far from it. First, he has little claim to being “african american” as we define it in the country. His ancestors are not from a country that supplied slaves to the United States. He was born in Hawaii (or so they say),grew up in Indonesia and Hawaii, went to Ivy League schools — Columbia and Harvard – hardly paid his dues working his way up in Black politics. So, not sure how many African Americans can relate to him.

And who knows?, maybe it’s his cracker half that has the strong marriage gene.

No, not a Poodle. Portughese Water Dog. They are $1K-$1,500 a piece! My neighbor’s PWD is related to Bo! One of the breeders lives in this city!

My gosh, msm (low caps on purpose) don’t have anything else to do? Perhaps they should go on a walk THEMSELVES!

ProudPalinFan on May 4, 2009 at 7:00 AM

BTW…watch out for Bo and his training! Meaning if he has any. Those dogs are as stubborn as they come, and they won’t obey or do anything for you. If Obama does not hire a dog trainer (as he is mega slow at hiring members of his Cabinet), they are gonna be in serious trouble!

So it is gonna be really amusing to watch a dog that does not obey TOTUS. You read it here first.

Lindy England, led by her lover Graner, made Iraqi prisoners get naked, pile up in human pyramids so that she could smoke a cigarette and point at their penises and this was Bush’s “secret torture program” directed from the White House?
The Left is so funny!
strangelet, only sub-morons like you would be fascinated with stories about Ogabe and Evita having “date night” and talking a walk…as if they’re dating.

The truth will set you free, yah know?

Prison guards jailed for abusing inmates at Abu Ghraib are planning to appeal their convictions on the grounds that recently released CIA torture memos prove they were scapegoats for the Bush Administration. “Once the pictures came out, the senior officials involved in the decision-making, they knew. They knew they had to have a cover story. It was the ‘bad apples,'” said Charles Gittins, attorney for former guard Charles Graner.

In America, the little guy can sue. That is why the collective might of the catholic church was powerless to stop the pederast priest prosecutions.
I love my country.

strangelet on May 4, 2009 at 8:06 AM

There’s a lot to love about America, but the lawyer/lawsuit society isn’t one of those reasons.
The “pederast priest prosecutions” were all about the money, not the abuse.
The lawyers went after the Church’s deep pockets. Period.
Complete reform from the top down, i.e. from the Pope down to every parish, would have accomplished a lot more.
But don’t ask me, I’m a proud Protestant.

As for Graner, England and the rest of the “Abu Ghraib 7,” they were totally rogue dipsh*ts and their abuse of prisoners had nothing to do with the recently released CIA memos.

Jenfidel on May 4, 2009 at 8:39 AM

Could the media, you know, merely discuss at the very least the White House thuggery as reported ALL WEEKEND LONG? I’m sorry, but, I’m still stuck on the whole unconstitutional-ness of it all. Who gives a heck about their “date night?” These people, all of them, need to be incarcerated. The more they report @#*$#*%(*$(% like this, while mocking the average american who is rightfully concerned with this megalomaniacs tactics, the more I am convinced a reckoning is coming.

The pederast priests were guilty and all the power of Holy Mother Church couldn’t protect them.
If Bush is guilty, the truth will come out.
And I don’t care if Bush and Cheney just get OJ’d.
Public acknowlegement that Bush and Cheney tortured in secret in direct violation of the treaty Reagan signed will be good enough for me.

Supposedly Sinclair sent a letter to MicHELLe describing in detail…ahem…Barry’s private parts. Has the signed certified-receipt from the White House to prove it.

Sinclair better stay away from Ft. Marcy.

Normally I love stuff like this – but that was a little icky. I can’t put my finger on “Why”? Historically, this kind of thing is for royalty isn’t it? “Look! They can walk! I always thought they were carried around in a litter or something. Do you think they eat like normal people do? *pause to ponder* Nah.”

What’s the press doing stalking this couple and why?
